On stable xD Found it yesterday. Funny thing is, I wasn't actually going to take it, but the server restarted and set me back to the exact moment I tried it on. I like the press vest better.

First and only one I've found was in the sleeping quarters in the crashed ship on North East coast. Has no inventory slots though.

Chainmail, gas mask variants, ski masks, bandannas that cover face, mittens, coveralls, jumpsuits, lab coats.

Go on a full server and hit up all the major areas. Make a loop. NEAF -> NWAF -> Military Base -> Green Mountain -> Military Base -> Balota -> Cherno -> Elektro. If you survive all the way to elektro, then hold out.

Zombies? What zombies? All I see are people killing eachother. Oh wait, I think I did have that one zombie chase me until I hit it with an axe and never seen it again....

Although it adds to the "realistic" factor (some sicko would do this in an apocalypse), not all of you are as good as you say you are. There will be a time where you are a fresh spawn, and this will happen to you, forcing hours of torment that will never end unless you go online at a time where you can sit by yourself for hours and starve to death, vowing that you will either quit playing DayZ or kill everybody in sight when you get out of your predicament.

Ive been shot once by a mosin which somehow ruined my pants, vest, shirt and backpack. It's 1 bullet, if it hits the bottom of your backpack, only the bottom row should be ruined. Not to mention a bullet will make a hole in a shirt, not completely ruin the thing rendering any other part of the shirt unusable. That's how it should work in-game.

Haven't went through more than the first few pages in suggestions, but didn't spot anything on karma. The mod had humanity, well, humanity is more unrealistic. (I don't believe in karma either, but its more realistic) So imagine a Karma system. Non measurable, no way of knowing what your karma is except for what you've done and a vague idea from character's look (scars etc). Killing = -Karma. Bandaging, giving food, morphine, etc = +karma. Karma can say, increase or decrease your chances of being knocked out by a punch, or affect chances of a broken leg after a fall, or the chance to contract a sickness. Minor stuff, nothing real "game changing", but more of a nuisance really. Now to distinguish, the lower the Karma, the more scarred up your character is. Scars, burn marks, sunken eyes, etc. So bandits are more likely to wear face masks etc, while decent players will not be trying to hide their scarred up face. "That zombie just one punched me and damaged my helmet, then mauled my body! Thats BS!" "Perhaps it was karma for all the bambis you killed today..."

Lots of people seem to get a shakiness when in tense situations in DayZ starting out. Shots don't hit and aim is off because of shaky hands or nervous decisions, one wrong movement of the mouse or a reflex twitch click that forces a missed shot. Lots of people used to (all of the above). This is all on the player, and the player progresses to the point where they keep their cool in a gunfight. I think skill progression could be good in the fact that, as mentioned above me, bandaging could take a second or two less. Things along those lines. NOTHING to do with gun-skill. The more you run, the more stamina you build, the longer you can run without having your character out of breath to the point where aiming is terrible, but again, nothing big. Also, non measurable. No progress bar, no experience points, no skill tree, no stat counter. The more times I tie my shose, the faster I can do it, but my shoe-laces don't change colour every time I tie them faster.

Tanks could be done... if they moved slower than walking/running speed, took immense amounts of fuel and parts, and could not fire weapons. More of a slow moving storage container.

Well, it's like religion. Some people strongly believe in it, others don't. I'm not saying its perfect, but it was my suggestion for a way to think twice before going out killing bambis, with minimal penalties if you so decide to play that way. This.

Maybe perhaps having the ability to rip sleeves off clothing. Arms could become scarred and burned up like faces? Maybe just rip one sleeve off to show your "karma" isn't low? I haven't figured out all the kinks to the idea yet xD

144Hours found my first mosin + LRS

Creep around sniper hill outside Elektro on a full server, bound to find some noob with a LRS camping in the bush, zoomed in, lacking peripheral vision. -
I don't tend to break my legs all that often, but falling 2 feet and ruining your pants is a bit obscure...

I find them to be extremely rare, so I hoard them for me, my friends, and random people willing to give blood. I had 4 of me today until my bro needed one.

Last time I used the sks, I was in a tree-to-tree gunfight, he popped out to shoot me and I put 2 shots dead center of his chest from 10ft away and nothing. Then I got one-shotted by a pistol since he ran out of ammo for his SKS... I was recording at the time, so I went back and watched the video. My aim was as perfect as could be, but the shots were hitting nowhere near my aim, off to the sides. I stick to my Mosin from now on. M4 and SKS seems to be way too sketchy with accuracy, even when fully pristine :S

Long range all the way. If you know how to use it that is. Shoots a bit to the left all the times I've had it, so when you are at 5-800m if you aim just to their right and the zeroing is correct you should get the hit every time. Plus, since the game lacks binoculars it is good to carry around even if you don't use it to shoot.

I find going south from the airfields near coast that the sun blares on my screen, giving people heading north an advantage. Perhaps if the cowboy hats and caps dimmed this effect in first person view, as well as sunglasses. -

I frequently drop ballistic helmets for cowboy hats or Ushankas simply because of the way they look. EVERYBODY is green when they gear up, so I like wearing all black, or a brown an tan cowboy look, etc etc. -
I've heard of the zombie priests doing some really weird stuff...

I killed my first 3 players within 5-10 minutes (none of them working together), then started heading out of the city where I picked off another guy driving down the road in a truck. THe killing isnt the fun part of the story, but after this little endeavour, the whole server (even the admin) was trying to kill me.
