ROFL DayZ is getting too popular for it's own good. The size of the DayZ map is like 2 SKYRIMS I got 99 problems,but a zombie ain't one I played this game for 1 month and had more fun and unique expiriences than most game last year i havent been able to get it to work for 4 weeks My god, this is a different kind of gaming. I would like to play it. God damnit........ The Deathmatch feel is going to get SO much worse... I used to get shot for fun before. now all people will have "murders". No offense RoosterTeeth, it's cool to see you guys do this. But now the game is gonna become 100% killing other survivors and sometimes shoot zombies.. Why is everyone suddenly playing this? Wow this mod has been spread so far, now I have a feeling I won't be able to get into NY servers by spamming enter....

They need to improve their anti cheat/hack security, it is way too easy at the moment and watching some of the sites it seems currently quiete popular to hack DayZ.

You should try the troubleshooting forum of the game you own, not just the forum for a mod where most peopel cant help you anway.

YES Because you have your reason and there is maybe more behind it what we dont understand/know. It doesnt matter if it is annoying since the game is successfull because it pisses people off. This gives even a chance to group up at start, but rather the option for talking to people without the fear to get shot. But to avoid that geared players kill unarmed new players like flies, some kind of function like the Bandit skin is needed. Player will kill others doesnt matter if they have something valueable or not. The current Deathmatch gameplay style with killing on sight is still a problem to group up, trust has been lost into players and new ones gets sucked into the same gameplay. In addition the game needs random spawns, to avoid spawn camping and to be guided with loot tables to quickly rearm without bigger risks. Exploring and the feel to be lost is on of the major strenghts in this mod ! I say, try it .....

Try it without an online map and you will expirience the true DayZ =), even if you try it only for 1-2 hours to get the "lost" and "unknown" feeling. Seems like you had a lot of fun....great read.

...recently the six updater includes aswell the really easy to use dayz updater. You just select one of the servers, press the big UPDATE button, it downloads the files and you can join. You have 2 shortcuts after installing the six updater: 1. Six Launcher --> for DayZ 2. Six updater Six Launcher starts the updater just for dayz and the six updater is used when you want to join any other servers but certain mods are needed. Its really not that complicated, especially not the Six Launcher/Dayz updater. The big advantage with Six updater: * you select the server you want to join and the software downloads all the modifications/addons which you need for the server. This means you can try a lot of different servers which offer different Arma 2 mods...instead of downloading mods and installing them manual with the shortcut methode. It looks user unfriendly first but is actually really usefull.

No this is only half the truth, if a part of the crowd made certain expiriences they will transfer this to new players aswell. It is like a hamster wheel, someone starts it and of course the game itself supports it, and after a while everyone has to do it otherwise you die. Its easy to see if you played the game at release before this forum even did exist, at the beginning there were always people who did group up, after a while everybody was killing each other after more and more ppl discovered the mod...to solve the issue the bandit skins were implemented and it did help a bit.

This is not a tired argument, human can do gruesome things especially when they are ordered, manipulated, are in trauma or just pure criminals. Nobody kills his neighbour because of a can of beens or because he has a more shiny weapon than yourself, you try to communicate first. And if a horde of zombies would be around your town, people would actually stick together in small groups and not walking alone around like superman. But this is a game, people are anonymous, some are comming from mmorpgs and love griefing, some are very young and dont know even how to act in real life and some just do it for their own fun, it is aswell a part of the current game content... At the end, some did start and all are forced now into the deathmatch gameplay especially since the bandit skins were removed...

One of the best thread in this forum, wished people would know about this earlier so not everybody was forced into this deathmatch gameplay because some nubs told many that you should trust nobody and kill on sight....

Arma = DayZ .....jesus, how can someone say Arma is a shitty game but loves Dayz when both are the same game, Dayz is a mod out of many.

Some people became a Zombie or Ghost....its just a bored Hacker. Just a hint for people who see such a bird the first time in Arma 2, play the game a bit to know the aswell the features of it..the bird is a feature with certain coop settings.
