    Well i watched half of the video, it belongs rather to the bad review videos about Dayz. They spend so much time in just one room and show almost nothing from the big gameworld... What I noticed is that people are really easy to manipulate with such podcasts on youtube, they follow them almost blind and produce such a viral impact and consumption binge about this or that.

    What the hell are they talking about....y "a game which is really old" The so called "old" game, at least Arma 2: Arrowhead, is just 2 years old.

    Arma 2 is a none Steam game...so the goodies are first found outside the tricky Steam distribution System. But they offer aswell the Steam Version as far I see. =)
  6. Amazing to see how fast the community grows. This day DayZ did reach 200.000 unique players already. This is really great... and who thought that a Zombie mod for Arma 2 would draw such big attention. Congratulations Rocket and thank you for this great game !

  8. Operation Flashpoint did very good at release since it was a revolutionary game at this time. The Arma series did sell always quiete good aswell, the game itself stayed in the simulation niche. There is actually no alternative on the market, it is just currently the best combined arms military game. Arma 2 just got more well known with the DayZ mod, which is great for the genre and for the game series in the future. There will be always good mods available for the Arma games. DayZ was definately a big boost and Arma 2 did hit mainstream with it. Some numbers I could find from 2009, could not find something so far about Arma 2 sales: "Operation Flashpoint, Bohemia Interactive's debut game published by Codemasters in 2001, became the No. 1 bestselling PC game around the world and has won many international awards, including "Game of The Year" and "Best Action Game." Over 2 million copies of Operation Flashpoint have been sold since its release.   9. Nope, they are based in the Czech Republic. Rocket is from New Zealand. ..aaww what?! not American?....this game sucks now :P Actually, this is the maybe reason for the success of the game...break out of the guided mass market.

  13. A lot of DayZ Lets play videos out there, but this one is actually with the developer of DayZ, Rocket itself. They combine an interview, tipsn tricks and a lets play in this video, quiete cool....check it out. Total Hailibut video:

  15. The bandit skin was actually quiete a good idea, gameplay with it was a bit better. Killing is more easy than to take the risk for communication with other players. As a bandit it is just to easy if you are killing on sight, except someone use the exploit and server hops like described in another thread....both things should be adjusted for a better gameplay.

    Hands up if the game is too Easy.

    Why I think the game is becomming to easy: * killing someone is too easy without consequences in comparison to the risk of communication or get in contact with other players to team up. Bandit gameplay in general is more easy in my eyes. * Loot maps, fixed looting points takes away the exploring...which is actually one of the major strengths of this game...too easy. * spawn camping for loot ...too easy * quitting the game or loggin off and on for kills or to avoid fights....too easy. The mentioned points are not only too easy, they are actually gamebraking in my opinion.
  18. Should someone post a video which shows the gameplay before the new patch and without any "gamma cheats" ? hehe Night was always dark with or without new patch....lets see how further patches will look like, long way to go until this game will be released.
  19. There will be a change with 1.7.1 soon... The loot and zombie spawn timer isn't working, hence the FPS issues for some people and the billions of zombies. I tried a new mechanism for this update, it works with small numbers of players but stops with large numbers. Likely be a hotfix, not within 24 hours, but definitely within 48 hours.

  21. * game needs random spawn loot and not fixed positions where people spawn camp. Some even logout and spawn in to check if the wanted loot did spawn. This should be changed.

    I like the patch. * Zombies were to easy after the first change and only a minor matter suddenly, surviving should be still content and not killing other players. One issue I see is that shooting a weaon draws a little too much attention to zombies. * a challenge is always good and I hope more fixes into this direction i.e. hope to see random loot and not fixed spawns * nighttime, well it was actually always dark to me and I didnt use gamma settings since I have a calibrated monitor. Not much changed for me.
