Seems someone else CLEARLY can't read - the military lost. The world has ended. All that is left are the few lucky survivors who hid in bunkers or in attics. The world - is - gone. As for the weapons - alpha is still alpha. Rocket recently asked the forums on the topic of removing the pistol on spawn.

Tough luck - you're paying to host a server, not to be given special entitlements. If you're butthurt over having to pay for a server and not getting anything unique from it, the answer is simple: Stop hosting. The mod has developed into a pseudo MMO - it isn't "just" a themed shooter game anymore, it has actual persistence. So man up, stop whining and make a decision... PS: Kicking and banning is actually one of the server hosting commandments - you agreed to not do this when you were given the server files.

For the record you do NOT need a 650W PSU as long as it is of a quality brand for a computer like that. I'm running my 2500K, 560TI, 8GB RAM (plus 4 harddrives) overclocked on a 650W from Corsair. 600 is more than enough, 550 as well at times depending on your graphics card - ATI tends to use less wattagepower per horsepower.

According to the patch notes of the upcoming patch, the performance should be considerably better, and more on the way. If you're not dying to try out the game right now, right here - hang around and follow the patches. See if people start changing their "this game runs so slow" tune.

Do we really need another witchhunt? Admins can ban without having to provide proof/answer to anyone. It's only when the someone appeals a ban that anything (if anything) happens at all. Hackers will be globally banned as it is, so I wouldn't worry about server bans. Those are reserved for foul language and such.

I don't really see how having the engine simulate unfolding and folding a paper map around to find a specific square of it, improves the game. There are features that add to the experience, and others that just make life needlessly bothersome.

And we have another visitor who doesn't seem to understand the concept of BUDGET gaming. An i5 is not for everyone - as powerful as the 2500/3750 are, not everyone can afford to put that much into a machine, especially if they don't expect/want high end performance.

Wrong - DayZ is living off of Rocket's willingness to continue development. The mod is making no money while in development, and it won't ever make any money as long as it continues being tied to an Arma title directly. Leave the entitlement at the door.

Mhmm - I've seen plenty of grey mushrooms as well during my treks in the forests. More animals could also be a way forward. And actual moving animals with a primitive AI for hunters to "enjoy". -

Serverwide telepathic chat is going away - get used to it. Radios for "side chat" (Only radio holder can hear and talk) has been discussed and will probably be implemented. Everyone is going to get the beta patches on the next big DayZ patch whether they want it or not - it's mandatory to run the game.

Agreed - things like adding the ability to pick mushrooms in the forests and loot the few kitchen gardens that are left would certainly add a bit to the variety. But those features aren't anywhere near.
