    THIS^^^^^^ most of the kicks have been people not updating dayz, commander should now clearly indicate you need to update dayz now. EDIT : also remember to download the stable arma OA beta patch in commander settings menu too

    DayZ Mod 1.7.7 Patch

    as for zombie tackle guys the, knock down rate was almost 100 percent chance when we first were testing it, its now reduced A LOT and also if a zed knocks you down he is disabled from being able to knock down again for aropund 15 seconds, if you get knocked down over and over it is because you are near a large group of zeds and constantly running right next to all of them to get away, advice, crepp like a ninjah, strike from the shadows, hide dead zeds, and use loitering zeds as a player awareness tool, iv had so much fun just watching groups of people at night working to gether and still gettin F;d in the A by zombies cos they are all just running around them making noise everywhere, :P

    on top of this everyones moaning about antibiotics, but when i suggested to razor that antibiotics have a chance to spawn in every type of spawn area, he then replied they already are, so the chances of you finding them ANYWHERE are slim, no matter where you look, hence why you need to scavenge properly now, instead of farm them like little hand fed puppys :P

    Hey Guys, nice to see the patch has whipped up a lot of emotion between the playerbase, i have been reading through a lot of whats been posted and see a lot of people with complaints which were the very things razor spent a very long time trying to get right with whoever was giving feedback and helping run tests, firstly can i say, the test server setup for this mod to be played by people and tested till its bone dry, was always very quiet, id been playing 1.7.7 for aroundabout 2 months before it came close to release, and my initial reaction was the same as most here, citing, certain mechanics being too stupid and what not, then i realised i was playing the game as if the mechanics all worked in EXACTLY the SAME fashion as they did pre patch. so firstly LOOT SPAWNS: Ok, so one of the biggest gripes i see so far in this thread is regarding the spawning of loot and often not finding anything. firstly ENSURE your ARMA2 beta patch is updated through dayzcommander to the 103718 STABLE patch, without it on this or also 103419 you will have conflicting bugs ingame that will also affect other people in and around your server. So you made sure your on the right patch, and you get to a high yield lootable lets say polana factory, and surprise surprise, not one tin cans spawned, so ur grinding ur teeth, whats happened is the building did not trigger a spawn when u entered its range, solution runaway find other loot or zeds leave the range and come back, if a building spawns a SINGLE item of loot now, it is tagged as a looted building and doesnt spawn any new loot for 15 minutes (this is from what i gather to bring down the ability for groups of players to just farm in the safest spots some of the best in game items ala high power rifles, helicopter parts etc) so you pass through the building see nothing and have to move on to another area, preferably close by, carry on your loot path all the way through another whole area, giving urself a guaranteed 15 mins before approaching your high yield, you come back and then a bit more loot has spawned, this will happen every 15 minutes from when the building was tagged to spawn and then roughly each hour the loot that has not been touched from a spawn point will get deleted from the server. so in essence loot cycling just is not a key mechanic the way you guys are used to it. at first it frustrated me, but then as i ran off to places i hadnt seen before whilst waiting for the spawn timers on my looting spots then i noticed something out the corner of my eye, i see a pickup truck hilux wreck scenery style, with some odd colour in the back, low and behold in the middle of cherno industrial hding away as camo as can be a ghillie is sat in the back of the pick up. then more loot crops up beans outside dog kennels hunting knives on non enterable doorsteps and all sorts of other places i wont ruin for you. simple matter of fact is, the looting is evolving and yes maybe it feels to stringent with its spawns but you now have to actually work for you loot, as much as i know everyone thought loot cycling was hard work, it was just a boring arduous mechanic you had to endure to cycle the loot tables, this mechanic COMPLETELY negates the need for this and creates a far more dynamic pvp environment in any server for a number of reasons but mainly 1 Player awareness, now when you get to a building with no loot you have to use time and your own spawn power to figure if a buildings just been cleared or if it just didnt spawn for you 2 Zombie awareness, now when you get to a supermarket with a train of 10-30 zombies 5 of which are high risk of infection zeds and not a single can of food has spawned, it makes you think twice again about getting that train in the first place. so hopefully now i have armed you with what little information i could make out from razor when asking bout the new spawning system you can make a little more use out of ur loot runs. the next thing i noticed high on the moan pedastal is WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT ZOMBIIIEEESSSS Ok i personally want to interject on this specific subject as it was me and a couple of others who convinved the rest of the testers and razor himself to tone down the zeds a little bit due to fear it would lead to many complaints such as above if i had a decent upload speed i would of put up lots of my videos of zombies literally raping me to the ground from freshspawn in and around 5-10 minutes and im not a bad player, against zeds at least lol the key thing here now is sensitivity, and i read someones post specifically saying "we should at least be able to crouch jog and not have to worry too much" the way i remember it in ANY zombie film, was that moving around even slowly or slight noises would set of a shit storm horde of angry muh fuggin zombies hungreh for teh brainz yeah? yet people all wanna just RUN to NWAF get a DMR and be the best dmr noob campmcfaggins, shooting people willy nilly with guns that by all accounts have the range of the gunshot sound nerfed so much you should conisder yourselves lucky that zeds from cherno dont come and try to rape ya when your firing a sniper on the hill of prig. seriously its important now to use the zombies with new tactics to work FOR you rather than running for your life from them, attracting all the high risk zeds, which btw have some extra little tricks up there sleeves aswell as high risk of infection. i think the toughness of the zeds now is almost perfect, and all that is needed is some tweaking to distances and alarm raising attributes for aggro, and i will try my hardest with the other guys to help razor get it as perfect as arma 2 will allow it. dont forget the main reason zeds bum you now, is because dayz mods fixed an arma 2 ai bug meaning that the unarmed zombies would zig zag slow as helll miles behind you and always get lost in 10 seconds, now they fixed that and the zed turns on the spot and runs STRAIGHT for YOU you dont know what to do with urself so you brick it, again, and get knocked over, again, anbd then get infected,,,,, again.... eventually you learn that killing zombies is now something you do if you really absolutely positively got to kill that muh fuggah. now what you should be doing is thinking about attracting large hordes of zeds by sprinting round a well populated cherno, dumping them near a player you know the whereabouts of and shaking your aggro on to him, whilst pelting him with smoke grenades. XD finally the big hoo haa ZOMBIE TACKLE Again let me tell you guys now, i personally was banging my drum throwing my dummy into the test group when i first got tackled testing the initial builds, literally you would get hit once by any zombie when you were moving in anyway WHATSOEVER and bam, dirt face, get up run awa bam dirt face over and over, after begging he change the ratios i beleive after testing it out thouroghly myself it is now at a good rate of chance and circumstance, if you get knocked down a lot STOP RUNNING. the only time you should be running is when your with at least another guy and he has a gun and you have an AXE (which il come back to in just a second) or when you been infected dont have any beans or meat left and truly are on your last legs for antis. i now find myself being as aware as possible in towns and i will always look to the nearest few zeds and aggro them all to me and get to a nice spacey building to slow them down and lure people in to find me, thus setting my aggro on them and reaping the benefits later in the gun fight. sorry for rant but i wanted to lightly explain some of the mechanics a little and see how it went down, if your ranting about any of the three things i mentioned or have any other feedback JOIN THE TEST GROUP AND BE POLITE TO RAZOR AND THE GUYS they really do try to do whatever the community tells them so, i think personally you muddah fuggahs shud say thanks fin

    iv been getting some of the best performance at all from dayz on this build its mainly gonna be server side things i think as even the loading time for me now is drastically reduced too. best bet is find a good server close to you preferably runnin off ssd server :P

    Buy Arma2 set or wait for the standalone?

    lol, i hate to be "that guy" but here goes, i personally wouldnt buy the whole shabang considering how close we r to possible sa alpha release, instead i would just buy arrow head and use the arma 2 free download available at bohemia interactives website, the reason for this is that not only is sa closer to release with each day but also you have both watchdogs AND gta 5 coming out this year as well, which for me are the only real other 2 games that have release dates this year that are going to be worth spending 30-40 pounds on each. its just an opinion but like iv run dayz mod on arma 2 free and op arrowhead combination and i honestly cant say the textures cause any obvious issues for me (they really are not that bad)

    dude just get ann ssd, my frame issues on dayz in arma 2 were greatly solved by this. also arma 3 runs frickin sweet for me even oin a laptop intel i3 processor with an nvidia 1gig gpu. literally where arma reads from hard drive ssd makes tons of funs

Ok so i know this is the place for dayz stuffs and i hope i dont get flamed down for this, but the kiddies trying to port the dayz code from original state in arma 2 into arma 3 are hitting a few teething problems and I was wondering if any people here with any coding experience may be able to help out in some areas that need looking at. Currently m,elee weapons do not function although a fix may of been added in the git hub now, next there is the issue of your inventory, when you log out at the moment your inventory is not saved to your character in the database so they supply you with a tent upon spawn to allow everyone a safe space to store all their gear, if anyone cares enough to help i would love to help bring the right people together to get this great mod playing in a decent state in the new arma 3 alpha engine (it looks and feels so much better/smoother in arma 3, the bugs just totally kill the gameplay and make it a little aggravating to anyone who wants to play the mod as it should be. many thanks The mehest Ninjah in town

    FPS drops

    dude run it from ramdisk as one option, if you do this your best bet is DATARAM free ramdisk version allows up to a 4 gig ram disk the solution for me was this up until i bought a ssd 250 gb hard drive for my laptop, something i would suggest to any person who still owns a standard sata drive to play dayz from. its a lot of money if your just looking to fix dayz fps drops, but for me it has been totally worth it as now my laptop is pretty beastly even on games like planetside 2 and other fairly proccess heavy games. The deal with arma and dayz is the game runs from hard drive, so if your on a standard drive it will be your main bottleneck, ramdisk doesnt completely fix this but it does drastically improve it. so id look for a guide on that if i was you.
  11. search for uk-forces in server filter matey, the admins there are really friendly and helpful etc and also they have built in huge amounts of custom bases and all sorts. im on there as Ninjah Meh when i play so you will know who i am if you see me :)
