    Lol well that would be why Dean Hall said he is taking the game engine away from the architecture of a shooter game, reworking the whole system to be MMO and then enabling more and more players and zombies to be in a single server....... hmmmmmm i dont see any other shooter games that go into the level of depth this one already does (and will continue to do so) in terms of collecting items used to craft new things and weapons and storage and so on, as well as gathering resources and what not to keep yourself and (if you have one) your group alive. I mean an MMO is just a game that is Massively Multiplayer Online, and is also what Dean himself said a hell of a lot that he wants the game to be more instead of your average shooter type game with a bit of survival element chucked at it for good measure. I would go as far as to say this is an RPGesque shooter as well, because you guessed it RPG's merely mean Role Playing Games, now forgive me if I'm wrong but if i choose to play the role of a bandit i can, but if i choose to play the role of a hero I also can so at what point you decided (against the definition of Dean Hall himself) this game is NOT a role playing game, I am unsure of. I mean literally Dean Hall in interviews said on camera he wants to bring the game away from being an online shooter and have the engine built up from the ground as AN MMO architecture (presumably so as to help the game to be an MMO or else why the fuck even do that) and to make it basically an open ended ROLE PLAYING MMO with zombies and guns. Just because your narrow view of an mmo is WoW or some other game such as and your idea of and RPG is something like skyrim or whatever does not mean someone cannot redefine a genre with a new type of game DERP God i hope people like this guy have as little influence in this game as possible, it would be a sad day for us all should such a great concept as an MMO RPG style survival zombie game with guns and cars in got ruined by feedback from people like this *facepalm*
  2. lol sowwie inception, and lol that the OP got confused by my comment, that actually creased me up so bad. and when i woke up and saw my notification s and it said "inception quoted a post you made" i was like, oh shit this could be funny. i was tryna be on topic before i trolled though to be fair. like i hope the "inceptioning" of sensible things like rucksacks stored in tents gets put IN as opposed to LEFT out, i mean shit if every living and partly dead thing in my reality was hell bent on making me do the opposite of survive, i sure as hell would stuff bags full of all sortsa crap and ropes and bits of broken gun and probably to be honest some shitty books i said to myself i would one day find a way to trade with an idiot for moar beanz, and then if i found me a tent or car or any other type of larger storage i would stuff dem bags into that storage and rinse and repeat till i was the junkyard king of da apocarypse :) hell yeah. its my birthday so i ranted and i enjoyed it. OOOSH
  3. most likely down to the zombie respawning thing, as in country side there are hardly ever zeds to kill or respawn, as soon as you hit areas of zed populace the respawning mechanism will be ready to work more often as zeds enter your radius of effect? just a guess but quite plausible

  5. so i was just running my arse off toward the new town on the north east coast, had a few guns and food and drink and what not, then suddenly i get session lost and kicked out the server, when i re log in, i am at the little town between elektro and cherno with small police station and a fresh spawn...... how and why man lol literally i love most things about this game but things like that ROYALLY piss me off. id stayed alive for a reasonable time and felt well geared for the hour or two id played on server. is there a way i can get information from my game logs to a dev so they can see what happened and what caused this, that is one gamebreaking bug that you fresh spawn without dying and everything... sad panda goes back to playing mod for a bit to ease the wound
  6. in relation to topic, i personally have been hoping to god that if i have items in my clothing, and then the clothing in a bag it allows me that little extra storage, in the mod if you had a bag, and it was filled and you put it into a tent, on server reset the bag would empty, which sucked and was really a stupid thing, but possibly an arma mechanic that stopped it from carrying over. if your a medic hero sort, it would be a great advantage to be able to store a bag full of medical loot in your camp, and if called upon to rescue someone, log in at your camp, grab a medic bag with a bit of everything u need in and hot foot it to wherever your needed, as opposed to log in, take bag, re stock bag from tent and continue on. granted a bag housing more than it can house on its own slots by putting items into pockets of clothing and storing is a little out there in the realm of impossible in terms of spatial restraint, but then if i have a rucksack in real life, and i have some trousers with whatever odds and ends in the pockets, i can still fit them in the bag without it over flowing, as im not able to put anything over sized in my pockets so they will fit in the bag, but i admit the trousers then do take a little more space than before... hard call but something worth a mass debate ;)

  8. no i have not considered what the respawn mechanic will be like if added with hundreds of zeds in game, mainly because (PLACEHOLDER MECHANIC) it will not be in the game by then. why would they have a mechanic to mimc the feeling of aggroing a hundred zeds, when you really aggro hundreds of zeds... i mean please, think man. it is not a gety oput of jail free card it is THE SOLE REASON the mechanic is there, it is a placeholder while the ACTUAL zombies that will be seen later in development are being coded and worked on in house till they let us test those too. why not stop shooting the bloody zeds and melee them like any normal person does... then you might see they NEVER aggro to your location when you kill them they just spawn not too far away and will aggro if you alert them by making noise etc...

    Zed sight and hearing...

    ENTS MAN long time no see buddy, we should hit up some standalone together mate, maybe we can make some informative videos on how not to suck balls at this game even in its current test phase state XD would be nice to play with someone who recognises that these issues are all KNOWN by the devs and there is a lot of work going on as we type to fix issues all the time. add my steam bro ninja_o_burisuta iv missed our test group skype ramblings man lol :D add me you bumbasquat
  11. so let me get this straight, when you walk near a town (generally populated by say at best 10 zeds) and you shoot one, and the other 9 aggro at you, ur surprised that (in the real world setting) a lot more zeds come running at you to where they heard the gunshots, which is in my opinion all this mechanic is set to mimic. as mentioned will record some footage of how to play dayz sensibly and how to play dayz like a gooch face. I for one can tell you now, if they take respawning out (which they will) and then fill the cities with say 50 to 100 zombies, and you try shoot any single one of them, the horde of 100 zombies will fuck u a lot quicker and a lot more buggily than the current respawn mechanic does. im not saying the mechanic is good, or bad, just that is PLACEHOLDER and not what you are supposed to be feedbacking. as it is they are hyper aware which is an issue, but the speed feels good and while they cannot turn very fast on the spot we still have the upper hand if we use the tools we have been given to take them out silently. anywho i shall record some video to debunk the stupidness of some of these claims

OMFG guys, the zombies will only aggro TO YOU if you shoot them, they then respawn with your last position locked into memory and come running as if you just fired the shot, im gonna make a video when i get some bullets of how the mechanic works and how to effectively deal with zeds and what guns are best used for just to prove that it is peoples playstyles causing issues not alpha testing mechanics that are nothing to do with end result, merely different mechanics being thrown into the game to see how they work and if could be implemented, they clearly will not be putting in the insta respawn mechanic, the actual feedback is about ZOMBIE MOVEMENT and the new animations, which increase their speed just enough that you have to sprint for a while to get out of range. the main issue is the clipping (being worked on with the new ai system that WILL make the final release) and the audio and visual alert zone the zeds have, (granted right now in the placeholder mod code zombies we have, it sucks) yes they do aggro when your quite away away AND behind them, but u know what, i just expec t that to happen now, and use my trusty melee weapon to sort them out. im hyped to make this video just to show people need adapt to the game, or give up on it

  16. seriously, not once did he think to pull out that axe??? if you had done that and they were still swarming you after you cleared a load (which they wont due to the mechanic working as such, shoot zambeh, zambeh dies, respawns in your vicinity but usually out of direct line of site, then spawns in with that last audio alert as its aggro target. yet if you axe one it dies and respawns with no audio cue to aggro to... mechanic works pretty well for a test on making more zombies feel like they are in game without killing performance on the connections) as it stands the current PLACEHOLDER mechanic is not ideal, but while the real zombies are being worked on, this is actually a great method of making the alpha testing more fun imho
  17. what would make a lot of sense is if say you dont have an axe or melee, that this slot is then able to take a second holstered( shouldered??) gun, not that to be honest having more guns on your character is any much use unless you have sparce amount of ammo that fits each type of gun or something or as suggested earlier to be equipped for long to mid range and also then close quarters situations. i personally like running around with guns with no ammo, makes me feel like a right bad ass when i convince players to submit or get shot then they lol when i tell them im really actually friendly and i dont have ammo. many friends have been made this way :)

    only if it was an iphone, all other phones are good, most normal people do not glue their eyebrows firmly to the screen of their phones and then claim iphones are somehow far superior to any other phone on the market, all iphones do is make you pay for everything android can offer basically free of charge (yeah cos FACETIME isnt a stupid as hell name and also a million times better than say hmmmmm any other video IM app you can get) rant fin..... (for now) also i feel a group of us people who bitch less and troll whiners should form an alliance on steam, and pertain to troll the fug out of people in standalone, namely by acting friendly going in to offer assistance then handcuffing with prsitines, and then firing weapons and running for cover XD epic plan imo

    this is how i see the people that come on the game and just moan that the games shit and nothing works...... no shit sherlock hence the BIG WARNING IN CAPITAL LETTERS ON STEAM STORE PAGE derp. just makes me want to turn into a KoS fag so i can see if i can cause some baby rant threads up in this bitch (note to all: once upon a time i was all friendly, then i read the forums, and became to loathe my fellow players and instead warm to the hoarding zambehs)

    this one sums up my experiences most with the game "i really should go (sleep, work, home, out or any other normal life activity this game sucks you away from doing) to that i end i literally have taken dayz off work to play this in my pants in bed all day when i first got stuck into the mod lol :)

    the game is designed to be a post apocalyptic ROLEPLAYING mmo, and after that some form of 3rd/1st person shooter the game is not that silly, you see cowboy hats in uk, norway (where i live right now) and i would imagine you find them in many countries, it would certainly suck if the only clothes you found was hero outfit, bandit outfit and freshspawn clothes, clothing was talked about at length in forums within the mod realm and many mods took the leap and started to add clothing due to requests in forums. i like wearing a green cotton girls jacket and 3/4 legth canvas pants whilst wielding axes at never ending zeds spawning on bambies im trying to save, it makes me feel like a real man you sir get the beans, maaany many beans for you. i personally would be happy if each server had a specific limit of types of gun that can spawn at all, which i think is what dean is going to try to introduce with the server side economy, this would help in reducing cheaers (maybe if guns or equipment start getting duped the cd keys get logged and in a ban wave your cd key is banned as was for cheating in arma 2 version) make dem cheaters pay :D also having a set economy of items means you know you wont end up in a spot where every fucker has a sniper rifle and no one will move cos they duped all the food and drink and ammo they need to camp in elektro...

    also i really like the idea of this summing the game up perfectly from the steam store page itself "WARNING, ALPHA, DO NOT BUY" idiot reaction;- ignore warning, buy unfinished game, moan that wasted money on said game, play game, get shot by bandits, cry about that, moan about zombies being in game, die by zombies, cry about everything, smash computer, hopefully never come to forum again or play game again EVURRRRRR :D
