try click and hold on relevant ammo, drag to respective gun and choosing chamber weapon same with clips you find, drag on to gun drop and it should auto load them in then try firing -

worth bearing in mind that actually this game is pretty cpu intensive, but also if you lower your graphics settings, you end up offloading the graphic display FROM gpu onto the cpu so it ends up causing in a lot of cases worse performance than cranking everything to highest settings, then dialling back seettings individually to find the most frame hogging settings. im on an nvicdia gtx 760 and a i5 sandy bridge 2500k overclocked to 4.6 ghz, i rarely get frame issues on dayz until i encounter a lot of player bubbles (get a noticeable drop for about 10-20 seconds while it syncs) but that is down to being on a slow mobile usb dongle internet compared with a high bandwidth broadband connection i guess. -
Is the DayZ mod still heavily populated? Steam has a great sale on Arma 2 so i was wondering.

meh, the game is so immersing i only notice the graphical issues once im sat in a little camp iv created somewhere in the wilderness with tents hidden in nice hidey cubs, each stacked with items relevant to each area of use (medical tent, guns and ammo store etc) and then trying to find a good spot to hide your treasured vehicle (that took over a day of hunting to get the parts needed to fix it up etc) each to their own. graphics is a selling point i see utilised most in games with little substance or gameplay. imho -

have you tried to get further away from the high population cities on the coast, most lag is due to being in a lot of other player bubbles and these are primarily around cherno elektro and berezino, try heading in land and seeing if that helps, also they are working a lot to optimise the game so hopefully we should see more smoothing as time turns over -

yes totally, much more worth it when arma is in the sale and especially at that price it is right now. mod is awesome and has all the things standalone is missing till they are implemented, i love it and play it when im bored of sa also stupid amount of custom made versions offering many different mods of the mod, so also a plus -
never had this problem, i think the first reply adresses the issue, sounds like you have post processes running (which almost every one turns off) also there is another video setting motion blur or rotation blur i think, turn that slider to nil and that should stop happening. i personally have never suffered blurring from movement, so unless your system cannot handle the game that would be the only other reason i can imagine would lead to blur when in motion

if they lock you out of serv ers when other voip is detected except for the server specific tied voip (like teamspeak and acre) it is totally possible, but as i said probably likely to make people cry about it so much that they wont do it. its a shame because it would be great if the only way to team talk was using a walkie talkie whilst all other forms of communication were audible to everyone -

it all comes down to the initial reaction i get , once iv sneaked up behind them and whispered in direct chat "Don't........ Moooooooove......" in a really husky yet intense voice. if they move they meet mr whacky, the axe. I never shot on site, as it wastes my much needed emergency caught off guard defense ammo. i always use melee, plus melee gives you the added advantage of seeming less threatening, i like to keep stupid melee on my back like baseball bat or crowbar for show, then have a fireaxe (spraypainted blackj naturally) in the bag hotkeyed. im pretty unfriendly now on dayz, mainly after my first week or so dismal player interactions and after comiong back to the forum to see the incessant amount of whining the "community" that came when standalone released make about all the alpha placeholder mechanice and stuff. I HATE THEM AND THEIR MOANING and their stupid misunderstanding of this game being incomplete so i slap people with my axe in general unless they make me laugh or sound english when i whisper to them. the whispering tends to work, i think safe people find it almost motherly :P -

lol im not spamming shit, if you dont know about hardcorps, you dont know about it. but yes i think voip should be shunned in this game other than using ingame voip, and i couldnt care less if i had to be out of any other voip apps, but alas all the wah babies would get thier panties in a twist to have to god forbid do any forward planning BEFORE jumping into the game, and even more unlikely the new crowd could be arsed to actually look to use the in game mechanics to play the game in a fun way. seems every one just wants this game diluted down into, run from beach find gun shoot first thing that moves player or zombie, die as a consequence to this twitchy adhd playstyle then moan the game is too hard/boring/NEEDS MOAR GUNZ sigh -

is that picture really you??? serious??? lol and tbh, this game is designed around immersion and player interaction, i hope they implement an acre style radio system so you cant actually use another voip service and get in servers, to make the radios have actual purpose, like in dayz hardcorps... now thats serious, and where this game should be headed, towards the hardcore side of the gaming community as deans initial dream envisioned. P.s nice selfy :D -

but surely everyone just wants red or black bandanas (of course there would be the vibrant pink bandana parade) but like meh, if you wanna make a team, why dont you all just hunt for radios, tune them into a single frequency, and then talk in the communication channel that becomes available to you by having radios. not a bad idea to be able to tie bandanas on arm for recognition, but most people will only want black, red, or camo as their team colours. guaranteed -

be sure that whatever server you are trying to join is the correct version build of dayz AND arma 2 when in dayz commander window, a lot of mods are running varying versions of dayz from the latest build vailable, so it could well be you are trying to join a server running a totally different version of the mod you have installed or even running a different beta patch also. -
if your in first person only, but i do like the idea of being able to find things like compass necklace pouches for items like that, that would mean you could apply it to your non inventory space (as was the case with tools in the mod) and it could be applied to lots of different items to free up eventual invent space, for instance a tool belt where you could house things like the small knives, can openers and other things that are annoying to have take up inventory space but intrinsic to survival. like in the mod, to deal with the problem of arrows for crossbows taking up a slot each you combined them to quivers and loaded them from quiver to crossbow. makes sense in my head :P

just to give you your five minutes of "flame" :P lol see what i did there? aaaaaanyway the guy who told you they need to keep adding core mechanics gets my beans, they need to get all the features in, broken or not, and then fix them as they see fit, unless gamebreakers pop up. but also to add to my lambasting, seriously arma 3 ballistics is one thing, but then arma 3 is basically a MIL SIM, where this is aiming to be a civilian SURVIVAL sim so to go all in like every bloody civilian is a top notch shooting expert is, just alienating potential and current players. i still chortled to myself about your "elite" pc comment though *clap clap* sirius how old is your rig if you think it would struggle with some particle effects used occasionally by an engine that would have a set wind speed for all player (also unrealistic but we cant move mountains without making molehills(more bugs)) in a direction that would occasionally change... im just baffled what your elite rig does have in if you think it couldnt hack that, id say its mid to low end lol XD go on, post your setup so we can all analyse and tear it to bits, im bored. xxx

in dayz HardCorps mod (1pp only, no chat channels unless you have a radio and dial in the frequencies, as has been adopted now in dayz standalone) they used ACE and i believe ACRE to implement gusting wind sounds, and clouds of dirt occasionally blowing up so those arguing the engine couldnt handle it, i disagree. i played dayz hardcorps on a fairly mid range gaming laptop, and all of that worked fine, granted it wasnt as in depth as actually being used to guage wind direction but, im sure if it could work in arma 2 mod on a crappish laptop, it would be no drama for the newer engine version, if anything it should be MORE likely after the thing goes through some eventual optimisation,. reason i quoted you dude was due to you saying reading a compass takes a second or two, but be real if your running, with a compass in your pocket (unless you had maybe a neclace pouch or similair, which could be yet another idea to maybe lead to a fast track option for using compass) when you take the compass from your pocket, in real terms, you actually have to stop, wait for magnegtic north to kick in to the needle and then align that. just thought i would point out it isnt as easy as pull out compass, easy find north. it does take a few moments just to let the needle settle if anything. one thing that did make me laugh was this comment about the elite to high end rig being crippled by some basic particle effects... eeeeeeeeyah reel l33t brah lol. maybe your cpu isnt OC'd enough knahmsaying?

hey man im a hacker anyway, i was just being jovial http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hacker_%28term%29 to me hacking is taking anything (hardware, software, mechanical or otherwise) and then either deconstructing it, figuring out how it works, and then trying to find ways of making it do things it was never designed for. cracking and scripting is just a more malicious form of this same ideal and yeah, i love being called hacker in dayz, it just means my awesomely slow mobile internet dongle meant i rubberbanded my way all the way up behind some dbag who would KOS me, and whack them in the head with my wrench :) i dont shoot on site, but i will chase you with tools and try hack your character so it does something it shouldnt do for a good while, ie DIE. unless i see you kill a bandit, then i wave and hope for player interaction (smokes his crack pipe and carries on dreaming for positive random interactionS) edit: had to point out hacking is hacking, even if its not hacking to be a dick -

wow so much moaning, not enough facts. so i fresh spawned in the experimental servers earlier today, found me a helmet, some food and a cola, awesome, so now im kitted up i decide to hunt out infected for some EXTREEEEEEEME bare knuckle boxing. no lies, within 5 minutes i find one, on his own and not only that, he is wandering around aimlessly (as everybody would like them to be so good reason to check exp branch) so i sprint at it (across grass) and the thing doesnt notice me till i am within a sensible radius from him, but you know what, im ready for this (ERGHMAGHERD SUPER ZOMBIE IS GONNA INSTA RUIN EVERYTHING AND ONE PUNCH TYSON MY ARSE myth). as he slooooowly turns round to aggro at me, i pre empt his super saiyan thoughts and aiming high i mash his head with two sift hooks, he falls, allowing me to pummel his head on the ground for 2 seconds he gets up i circle him, and go in with the haymaker... he dies... im like WTF IS WITH PEOPLE, maybe its just that i can play games well and other people cant. this hunt continues for another 3-4 zeds NONE of which hit me in all my match ups. then, THEN, i see a player run into a house i took to to find some food or other items, by this point i have a wrench on my back, just in case of a situation like this, as he wanders into the carpeted side of the big red house just before balota main town i run up on that punk and BAM baton his head in a good few times, lucky for him there is a baseball bat he managed to pick up as i go for him, knowing what people are like in the game i pre empt KOS with u guessed it PRE EMPTIVE kos. as im mercilessly bludgenoing the back of his head in, another player runs through the building (half in the floor i might add) aggroing a train of zombies at us. nice plan i thought, so i leave myh victim in search for the smart arse, cos i saw he had a gun. he sprints away knowing full well that i will bust his brains out for that weapon. as i chase him down freelooking to see that sadly the other victim did not attract the other zombies i break LoS of the new found victim and begin to bust the zombies in with the wrench (no time for playing here when a possible gunmen can take me down) as i beat off his pursuers, sure enough as expected, i hear a 22 shot whiz by... fuck the zombies i think, and run str8 at him. if hes that bad a shot to miss the first, likelihood is he will panick and run. and im right. morale of the story is QUIT WHINING AND MAKE THE BEST OF IT. its fixed when its fixed. zombies are great in exp so go go go -

Currently YES the ai is slightly recoded mod code, yet they have a whole studio bought in slovakia that is helping the team work on the newly created zombies, who specialise in pathfinding sorry but go play something else. as for warz being possible because of people like me. OOOOOOOOKKKKKKKK i clearly see your point when, i hate and would never play that game, plus it doesnt exist anymore (copyright infringement filed by the film) i suggest you go play that new game infestation... oh right i mean warz that i made happen. whatevs -

This thread.............. people need to understand the zombie spawning system is in place while the NEWLY bought development team in slovakia or somewhere of around 30-40 people work on a whole new zombie model, mechanics AND spawning / pathfinding. its as if people come to this thread and dont even read any of the previous posts. I hope a lot of the people moaning have little impact in the direction the zeds end up going in because to be honest, this game is aimed at hardcore gamers who enjoy difficulty on a whole other level. feels like this thread should of been locked away in the graveyard already. DO RESEARCH AND USE INFORMATION before posting irrelevant opinions without any info
