What do you keep in your inventory? My backpack versus my friends.
Neinsager replied to Hagon94's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, I know that...slipped from one of the walkways in the interior....and fell...and fell....four decks. Broke my legs. And my back. And everything else. My mates guarded my corpse and I was back there in 10 minutes, but my pants and everything in them were ruined. Everything else was still fine, though. Oh, and one of my mates broke his legs by putting on a new pair of pants! -_- He was lucky one of us had morphine. -

Ah, I see. Thanks, wartzilla. Allthough: My pants get ruined more often than anything on my chest, but spreading everything important to different clothes makes sense. -
He had it coming, and that's not murder. Stepping on a roach is *never* murder but always justified.

DayZ SA Equipment Guide: What Equipment you should be using to survive, and where to find it!
Neinsager replied to marsmars's topic in New Player Discussion
Don't know about the ballistic helmet, but motorcycle helmet is usually ruined after one direct hit. -
Concretely: what differs the pro from the noob?
Neinsager replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in New Player Discussion
And because most people spawn close to it now *plus* it having to supermarkets and lots of other neat places to pick clean and is close to the shipwreck, it is the new Cherno/Elektro nowadays. On low to mid-populated server, you can expect Cherno and Elektro to be empty, a few people hanging out in inland towns and some on the airfields, but you will *always* find bambis and bandits aplenty in Berezino. -
Impossible to be "Friendly" in this game. Resorted to Banditry.
Neinsager replied to MyPassword is Chickens20's topic in New Player Discussion
There are places and times to be friendly. The airfields are NO place for that. It's a combat zone. Whoever goes there wants military grade stuff or has just found it. Neither would he (or you) willingly part with it nor allow some stranger to pick up that shiny M4 on the floor there so he can turn around and try it on you. I'm usually not the KOS guy, but on airfields it is: Shoot first, ask questions later. -

Please elaborate. -
Right now, Berezino is the new Cherno/Elektro because many survivors spawn on the east coast these days. I spawned three times in a row in front of the factory north of Solnichniy, so Berezino is the closest.

Yesterday, I looted a house in Zelenogorsk. Found some Cereals and had to drop some excess .45 ammo for it. For eating, I crouched in the corner behind the open door and wulfed that stuff down. Just when I was finished, I suddenly heard footsteps approaching, and a few seconds later, some survivor with a drawn fireaxe and an SKS on his back came in, but didn't see me, of course because I was behind the door. He looked down and checked out the .45 ammo that was lying in the middle of the room. For a split second I pondered writing, because I didn't have a mike attached (Creative Fatality Headset with detachable mike), but then imagined: If he turned around while I was typing, he could bash my skull with his fireaxe with ease. So I didn't say anything but raised my M4 and riddled him with with 10 bullets in the back. He dropped like a log, blood spurting. Whew...that was intense! And immediately after, I felt guilty, especially after looting his body and seeing all the nice stuff he had acquired....surely had taken him some time Regrettably, all that stuff in his backpack was destroyed by my fire - only his ballistic helmet was still pristine, so I took that and ran away. That really left a bad feeling in me, gunning someone down from behind in cold blood. I don't think, I'm cut out to be a genuine bandit. I mean: I killed twice in self-defense before, but only because I was attacked by them - but choosing by youself: "I'm ending this guy NOW, just because I can." - well that's a different story.

Please don't.

It may sound stupid, but: 1.) Can you see somewhere how many (if any) bullets are loaded in your gun? (Because I fail to comprehend the numbers in the upper right corner when I'm holding a gun...) And: 2.) Is there a way to unload your gun? For example: I had a shotgun, got ambushed by a bandit, blew him away with one round and found a sawed-off shotgun in his backpack. So I wanted to remove the one remaining shell from by old shotgun and put it in my newly acquired sawed-off...but I didn't know how. Thanks!
-
How many rounds in gun & unloading possible?
Neinsager replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
Ah, allright, I found it....apparently, my guns were empty all along. After finding some ammo and reloading, I found out that all your descriptions were right all along. Thanks again. -
You probably had bad luck and the server was plundered already. Basically, if you find all doors of houses opened already, then you can be sure that someone picked this town clean already.

Neither is shocking a flatline with a defibrilator - contrary to what many TV-shows or movies imply. CPR basically works on any type of cardiac arrest, so I'd second OPs suggestion.

10 hours in-game now - and only 1 kill, out of self defense.... Fuc*er attacked me unprovoked at the lumbermill with a fire-axe. Hit me once before I could whip out the shotgun I found 5 minutes earlier (whew...thank god for that and my pristine motorcycle helmet) - BAM @ point blank. Case solved. Funny enough, he was fully equipped: Mosin with scope, pistol, sawed-off shotgun, can opener, lots of food....well, and a fire-axe apparently. That'll teach him trying to prey on innocent newbies....and not to carry axes into a firefight!

Zombies Spotting You From A Distance.

You, sir, win one free internets! -
One odd thing I noticed yesterday: After spawing I found myself a well - and (for confirmation) on a second life: a pond - and drank, drank drank, beyond "I am full" until I got "My stomach feels really stuffed". I stopped drinking and went on....and started starving a mere 5 minutes later....and went unconscious from hunger another 5 to 10 minutes later - much earlier than you would usually go down from starvation. Actually, it was funny to see both lines on top of each other: "I feel stuffed" and a red "I'm dying of starvation." But it made we wonder: Does drinking too much (without vomiting, of course) affect your energy so that you starve much faster than usual?

Drinking Too Much Water Affects Energy?
Neinsager replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
Ah, allright....so the "stuffed" takes some time to disappear, too? Didn't know that, sorry. So, you all may be right...I *may* have vomitted in deed (without noticing...), lost a lot of energy because of that - and then starved quickly. It is starting to make sense now. -

Drinking Too Much Water Affects Energy?
Neinsager replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
Allright, so "Stuffed" and "Starving" goes together - thanks OchnOe for that chart, it is pretty good and explains how digestion works. Gugolas, you CAN get stuffed on water...go to the next faucet and try it out. ;) So this is pretty real. I'll try again the next time I respawn, and that time I'll use 3PP to see if I'm vomiting. -
Drinking Too Much Water Affects Energy?
Neinsager replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
Yes, I'm aware of that - but still: I was starving - twice - at a much faster rate than usual. In practical terms: I spawned at Kamyshovo, drank at the pump and headed directly north into the woods, no stops, no detours - and went unconscious in the courtyard of castle Rog. The second time I spawned near the factory north of Solnichny, drank water at the pond there and went north - and passed out just past Bay Nizhnaya. For cross-checking: I respawned at almost the same point again later and drank from the pond only to the point of being "full" and went north again....everything was fine, I reached Berenzino without starving. -
Drinking Too Much Water Affects Energy?
Neinsager replied to Neinsager's topic in New Player Discussion
No, I'm not 100% sure because I was crouching and didn't move, so I couldn't tell from the animation. But I was certain that you would be notified if you were close to vomiting....AND you wouldn't be "Stuffed" anymore after it, would you? -
Zombies Spotting You From A Distance.
Neinsager replied to uk aidan uk's topic in New Player Discussion
I agree - the distance in which they spot you is ridiculous. Sometimes they see you over a distance of more than 200m, even if crouched or behind an even-colored background. Usually, they spot the player way better then the player can spot them. I mean, come on, it is not like Zombies would permanently scout the landscape for survivors to consume. :)
