Does not mean its always the best option. Also if anything being closer to the action would make it more fun due to the added danger? Anyone who is actually proficient in armed combat or has any tactical experience (other than games, im talking about actual soldiers etc) will tell you that there is a sweet spot between being too far from the action adding increased risk of missing the target or not maintaining full situational awareness and being too close too the target ie miss and he can shoot you etc.

3 murders up, started with a hatchet now i have an m240, m14aim and a m4a3cco... + someones red tractor ;)

tried to drop a guy off the hospital roof when i pressed a button (still not sure what i pressed) and started to change sides of the body resulting in me not being able to stop my guy from positioning himself off the roof.... 2 second drop and dead. What an idiot

hey beats, been playing on that server too trying to complete the challenge :P hit my steam up sgt_snoman. Got an M4A3 CCO 1 murder so far with the trusty hatchet ;) im up near berezino so easy pickup. DMR is my weapon of choice rather than the heavier 50 cals as i like to be up close and personal to torment ;) If you are interested send me a pm on here :D

unfortunately i was robbed and murdered in my quest for more gear. Currently have an M14, will be hunting them down !

OK so yesterday I finally started playing and this is the story of my first day. So everything installed, controls setup and "mastered" I log into the server which my ping is best on and has the lowest amount of players whilst i get used to the looting and surviving side of the game. Bam spawned in at the coast and I recognize where I am pretty quickly thanks to the 1000000's of dayz vids i have watched in my eager wait to get started. I head to cherno thinking, yeah there will be no one sniping cherno in this server as there are only 3 people, oh how wrong i was! Walked out of the store with my nice new backpack and bang... sniped one shot, one kill. Well that sucked, so here we go again. I spawn in the same place and decide for a different tactic, I am going to head north to the NWA and risk it for a biscuit. To cut a long story short after lots of panicking, frantic looting of the smaller villages on the way up there i spot something running in a field next to me...Three more players (but wait, i was only one of three people in the server? Being the total idiot i am i forgot to keep an eye on how many people were logged in, it was obvious this group had the same idea as me. One was tooled up with a DMR and the other two had what i can only assume were makarovs as i didnt have binoculars to have a proper look. So i decided that this was going to me be my first real chance, what am i going to do ? Am i going to try and stalk them, get a weapon and execute some people or am i going to try and plead for them not to kill me and ask if they will take pity on me and let me come along. Thinking I was clever and had nothing too lose apart from some beans, coke and a hatchet i would stalk with the aim of catching them off guard just before NWA and then pleading for them to take me under their wings. For atleast 15/20 minutes i followed them from cover to cover nearly having a heart attack when the DMR guy would dive prone then crouch and scan the horizon. Its a good job bushes dont move when you are sit in them as i was shaking like a leaf. On the outskirts of the NWA where i planned to do my " cry and take me with you " routine it all went down hill. Extremely Loud bangs followed by flames and smoke appeared to the left of the group, they scattered and I can only assume somebody tried to frag them, For some reason at that very moment when things went down hill the adrenaline hit me and i grew extremely protective of my heinz! What was is that came over me? Pure adrenaline and excitement over a can of beans, but they were my beans and i wasnt about to let a bandit get his grubby hands on them! I ran and i ran and i ran.... to no where, now im lost. excellent. Thats the end really, im stuck in the trees somewhere, I think i am towards stary but I am sure i will find my way about over time! Sorry if reading this wasnt your cup of tea but rather than fabricate lies i thought i would tell the truth about how I am now the loving and caring protector of a can of beans ! thanks for the welcomes. One of the biggest dilemas i face is shoot or not. How do you guys rationalise killing, the way i see it is the following. survivor unarmed - Sneak up, say hi and ask them to get down. if they comply i look around to nake sure they are alone and if they are i escort them somewhere and help them out. if they ignore me i run off durvivor armed - same as above but i keep away leaning corners etc. if they comply then i try to find out what their plans are and hopefully ive made a new friend. if they dont comply then its a bullet to the skull, before i kill them i do say im not going to loot them as im doing it for my own survival not the loot. (Does that make me a bandit or just an asshole? ) bandit - same as above but im alot less tollerant ghilles i try to get the drop on. this is where my dilema starts, i want to shoot break his legs/knock him out then go chat after i bandage them. But if they have a ghille they normally have some good loot. Banditry isnt my style but in the middle of no where hungry sometimes its the only option

Found and fixed up my first bus... crashed it into a fence 50M down the road... On the bright side of life I was rescued by a friendly finish bloke on an ATV. I now have DMR,M4 SD,M9 SD and soldier uniform + rangerfinders. So lucky, i had the same gear as above and a ghille suit but was executed by a bambie with a hatchet whilst i spawned in. luckily my friend spawned in a few trees back and protected my gear :)

Thanks for the advice buddy, got most of my tool belt gear now and an ak74 few rounds....... got my FIRST bandit kill too ;)
