I'd guess the same time estimate applies so 5 hours from the original 'oh ohh' tweet so 3-4 more hours prob. but then theres old faithful 'when it's ready' :P -

Also after you change it to sort by version like Odahviing suggested it takes a minute or two to find them (all 3 this'll be a war for spots) at least it did for me -

Oh it's bean canceled indefinitely they stopped game production and all just went to live on everest didn't you see the tweet. Dean Hall @rocket2guns Great news we've stopped game production and moving to everest! thanks for the lols! .... probably within 5 hours from now would be a safe estimate or read any page in the last 10 pages for an answer :) -
I'm not 100% sure what you're saying but as far as i can tell what you're saying is correct and pretty much what i'm saying. Without a 'sling' you would be unable to place a weapon on your back and you would be forced to carry it in your hand slot meaning that if you made a 'rag sling' so you could keep your hands free you would have a penalty to your draw speed when removing the weapon from your back until you have a correct 'pristine' sling instead of a homemade one. That is a basic summary of my concept.

It's not about how easy it is, it's about the guy who is fixing it and what his assigned priorities lists are and more than likely the guy(s) working on the logout timer would more than likely be the same guys working on engine stability and that is more important than you getting rustled when someone combat logs on you :P the guy doing the spray paints would be an texture artist / modeler more than likely and he would not be working on logout timers seeing that coding is not his job. -
I'm unsure about why they didn't use the ARMA III engine as well seeing they started dayzSA after the arma III engine was already in production and was released shortly after, i even believe Dean was working on the arma III engine at some point, that said obviously they would have their reasons for not using the arma III engine not just using the 2.5 for the lols.

I'm all for not having multiple guns, as like i stated in the post i'd personally never use more than 1 and that idea was supposed to be more of an example of how a sling use could work with stat penalties etc and choice (with consequence). The reason i even came up with the idea is because right now i feel magnetizing the a two handed weapon to your back is silly and too easy. Having to get or find / craft a sling that comes with it's own penalties makes attaining a two handed weapon and using it practically, more important and that was supposed to be what the thread was about hence the title not yay gimme all the guns! people seem to be hung up on the amount of guns idea more than my actual point and thread titled haha.
-
Err i don't think you read very far haha. how is it making it easier when my idea involves punishing players for carrying more? at the moment we have no choice making about our decisions when it comes to taking weapons, this would ideally enable you to have a choice with a penalty based on the choice you make other than everyone just being the same.
-
I actually just posted an idea like this in the suggestions thats similar to what you're saying but more about how we carry weapons, you might like the idea you might not either way eh link: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/166271-hand-slot-and-weapon-slings/
-
haha that's kind of my point though you wouldn't and you shouldn't carry so many guns... BUT you could carry so many so why aren't we able to and at the same time it adds importance and variety (regarding player play style) to our choices other than it being so black and white.

That's what the OP was meaning tho as irl a shotgun isn't a 'short range' weapon it's a medium to long range however games just give them crazy spread to make them more balanced and less OP, just look up shotgun range videos and you'll see how underpowered they are in games :)
-
I think shotguns are portrayed better in arma than most games, a lot of people complain the spread is too narrow in arma 2 but i never had an issue with it (considering shotgun spread in most games is a joke) so *shrug* sawn-off i imagine will be a pistol (slot) and have 2-3 times spread

Name weapons that should be in DayZ SA
twingunz replied to Grenadier36's topic in General Discussion
all i want is all of the weapons; why limit ourselves! :P But i'd really like (ontop of a sheep load of firearms) more melee tomahawks, clevers, machetes, pipes, wooden planks, tire irons, ice picks and obviously a little bumped up from the current melee damage (and reach?), which is a little odd atm how fists are better than everything except for axes :P And have appropriate crafting like poisoning knives, wrapping barb wire around pipes, nails through wooden planks and other better things than i can think of! -
Ok so after an hour of stumbling through the forest trying to retrace my steps from a few weeks ago i decided to check the daydzb map only to realize the building location is already marked and it's a lot more obvious than i thought and more west than i remembered also, however i did originally find it just wandering aimlessly so makes sense that i was off. It has a dirt road running straight through it so ahh maybe it's not all that "hidden" as i thought, an now i just look like an idiot haha! Either way here's the location and some screens of it.
-
haha yeah i've been doing the same, there's actually some weird stuff i found a buried statue with a radio unit next to it in the forest on the hill northwest of balota (behind the creek i believe), i feel the SA is already more rewarding than the mod was for just exploring. I'll try to find the military base now and take a screenshot with the location so if Guba area does get populated others can check to see if the military base gets thrown in as well. i prob shouldn't of given this place up but hey sharing is caring and it'd be no fun if i was the only one ever there!
-
If aggressive wildlife isn't eventually implemented i'll be muchos disappointed, I like to think of this game a a survival game foremost and surviving in the woods shouldn't be a cake walk as soon as cooking is in the forest will be the easiest safest place to be never have to leave, thus i think aggressive wildlife has to play some part... I hope!
-
I agree with your theory. BEANZ! Also i'm not sure if people are aware but there is a set up for a hidden military base in the forest north of NEAF so far no lootable buildings but the fence line is there along with some of the siren towers and a non enterable military base, i've stumbled across it a few times on my trips up North so i wonder if that will be implemented in this update too; presuming your theory is correct and it is this area being populated.
-
I didn't read your thread at all coz i'm lazy and you summarized at the very start so i'll just simply say if the game has to much running for you it's the wrong game for you :)

I like TB and generally agree with him but on this i disagree with him (strongly) buying anything is solely on the consumer especially when it's reinforced that the product is incomplete (it was never stated or even alluded that this is a finished or even working product), consumers have to take responsibility for their choices and it tiers me how people think that because they bought something knowing and warned that it was incomplete and problematic yet still decided to put the money down that it somehow negates their responsibility. People feel far too entitled these days and when they make a bad choice that they feel should be rewarded for it and compensated, i personally don't agree with that way of thinking or TB's analogies and comparisons. I put my money down on this game because i loved dayz mod and wanted to support and be part of the dayzSA if i regretted that choice well thats solely my own fault and looking to put blame elsewhere (to me) is just irrational and failing to take responsibility for my own choices.
