Because although the magnum is badass the shotgun is more badass, it's science so don't worry if you don't understand :) -
Thats weird i was using it on military zeds that are supposed to be harder to kill (but i haven't used it on a player yet so who knows) and it was one shot kill not using the dual fire, maybe it was lag and you actually missed *shrug* Note: press 'T' for dual fire if you didn't know i pressed t wondering if it'd work no visual indicators but when i fired the shot made me look to heavens even the gods wanted to watch the boomstick and sure enough both chambers were empty.

Ok i looked and didn't see a thread about this but i've jumped in a few dif servers by now and it appears that this new hardcore mode runs on a completely new hive meaning you can't gear up in a regular hive then jump into a hardcore as you'll be running different chars (awesome). Another thing i've noticed is loot is a lot more scarce even in towns that haven't been looted yet, i haven't seen one compass, food isn't in abundance now and the rare can opener is now just a myth! what i would like to know though, is it the same on regular servers? as i haven't played much on them as i've spent 99% of my time in hardcore (didn't really want to gear up two dif chars when i prefer FPP). Is the loot in regular all really nerfed as well or is this exclusive to hardcore? (which if so is muchos nice!)

I'm on my 1st char still not finding huge amounts but more than enough to survive Edit: i actually got thirsty after the start, the difficulty now is purrrrrfect! (imo) it's actually a survival game again

What i'd be more worried about is server restarts! if you can get the hunting backpack by far the best in the game and even that i only ever have half full. -
Steam download stable/experimental build problem. Love some help.

right click the game on steam go to properties then local files tab and click the verify integrity of game cache, that should scan your files and give you the a-ok from le steam. -

good news is that in the experimental build they've added the condition for weapons so we actually know if they're broke now! -
Rocket tweeted that they might be releasing it to stable tomorrow, so lets hope theres nothing really wrong with it (was running a lot nicer for me even with the bad ping) and hopefully it comes to all tomorrow so no more fighting for spots! Edit rockets tweet for those who missed it: Dean Hall @rocket2guns2h@robotcobras We *may* push the current build to stable tomorrow, if it is okay.

It's called search this thread is a minutely occurrence :P and what are you talking about, surviving the bandits is survival hell they're the biggest threat of dayz don't damn well wave at them! they're here to strike fear into your carebear heart!

I gotta say the limited server means people are actually playing the game and not just staying on the coast i went to tulga, msta, staroye, dolina then up to the factory and just quit after looting polana 3 of them i ran into other players and all of them were already picked clean and i got in straight away as soon as the patch went live. What i'm saying is no one want's to leave or risk server hopping so they're actually playing ... solution for combat logging and server hoppers right here just have less servers than the player base haha :P Note: i am joking ... sort of haha

Not trollin but maybe try RUST it seems more user friendly than Dayz and has a smaller map and everything you described about why dayz is bad in your opinion is what makes dayz great to most of the Dayz community. Dayz is more for people who want the game to have a challenging rewarding experience, you're not supposed to be like hey i'm geared in 15 - 20 minute's you're meant to be trying to survive as long as possible and searching every nook for an edge. -
This idea is simple (and i feel logical) but hard to summarize so i'll break it down Disclaimer: this is something i would like, i am not saying it's a good idea, it's just an idea that I personally would enjoy and from my perspective i feel it could add a simple yet important element to the game, you don't have to agree with me so feel free to debate it but no hate please! 1. Hands should be a legitimate inventory slot instead of the temporary one as it is now, by that i mean currently if you're holding something in your hands once you log out the item in your hands will be wiped from your hands and from the server. I tested this by rejoining the same server to see if the item had dropped at my feet however the item was gone from my hands and gone from the server. What i would like here is for your hands to be considered part of your inventory and carry through just as your backpack etc. The reasoning for wanting hands to play a more important role and a less temporary one is due to what i would like next. 2. Currently when we find a two handed weapon we just magnetize it to our back and go about our merry way ignoring all logic and physics involved of why and how the weapon is magically attached to us, but that's ok because all game do it? What i would like to propose is that a weapon can not be strapped to your back without a sling and have a small system in place for a sling, that i will cover a little later. What i would ideally like is to be able to have 3 (i know i'm outrageous) total two handed weapons; 2 by sling 1 by hand, instead of the two, two handed weapons we can carry currently. (inb4 the weapon whoring, this is not so i can roll gun whore, i'd personally only roll with one weapon so pls sit back down and read on!) Now i know what you're thinking this is all so BS who do you think you are, Rambo? (well yes i am but that is not my point) with this system there would be a simple balancing mechanic that i feel the game is missing currently. No sling: having no sling and the weapon always in hand would obviously mean your reaction time will always be the fastest as the weapon is always in your hands; unless you are using an item in which it will be dropped to your feet. one sling: One sling would allow you to carry a weapon on your back and keep your hands free and have the games standard off the back draw speed with also having a sound effect for the sling bouncing on your back while running. Two slings: Having two slings would add .5 of a second to drawing a slinged weapon from your back due to the clumsy nature of carrying multiple weapons with also slightly louder noise dispersion than the single sling from the weapons bouncing on your back and into each other. Two / One Sling(s) with weapon in hand: Must clear hands to draw a slinged weapon and two sling penalty also applies if applicable (void if only using one sling) also with standard noise for amount slings and slightly lowered run speed with increased fatigue. To add to this idea i also propose that slings be rarer than the weapon spawns themselves but the player should be able to make their own sling out of either rope or rags with penalties applied to draw speed using home made slings ie: Sling > Rope sling > Rag sling I think this would add a nice dynamic to the game and make weapons a little more thought provoking than they currently are, as this would make you think is it worth having the extra weapon for a slower reaction time and / or louder noise for when i'm trying to sneak, this could be a big factor in gun fights with other players e.g: someone with 2 slings that initially gets the drop on you goes to change weapons (or aren't quick to draw their weapon initially) that could give you enough time to swing the situation in your favour if you just have the 1 or no sling and vice versa. This i feel is rewarding for players who pack light as they get an advantage for doing so where currently there is no real reason to play light or purely think about your gun choices, while also on the other end players who like to hoard or have multiple choices of combat available also have the ability to do so. If you made it this far even if you strongly oppose i give you hypothetical Beanz and if you be constructive in le comments i'll give you legitimate forum beanz :P

You're right infact the whole game is rather uninteresting may as well just delete the game as well ! what existed before was clearly a place holder.
