yeah im shamefully sitting on 79 hours and still loving it no game has provided me with such interesting human reactions before as every person you come across you never know what they will do, it's awesome! -
I don't understand how people think having less gun variety is more accurate, wouldn't having a wide arrange of weapons be more accurate don't misunderstand i still encourage really low spawn rates across the board for weapons not like yeah have 100 guns and have them all spawn everywhere it just means that lots of people would have different guns and not all walking around in the same gear; I don't think anyone's saying to change spawn rates just adding more options so instead of an m4 spawning a mp5 or something could spawn instead) Plus it would also mean if there was enough and enough rare weapons their could be gun trading! for people who want a very particular gun like OCD people like me! i'd gladly downgrade a fully decked out M4 for a stock standard mossberg anyday!

I think a lot of the animations are just placeholders at the moment as A lot seem to be missing like applying painkillers as if they were a bandage opening a can that has an invisible bottle cap, i'm sure it will improve in time i actually think the walking and running animations are really good now as in 1st person watch your feet move on the floor theres no sliding / floating or anything its muchos nice! However when holding a pistol your left arm awkwardly clips through your body the entire time its a lil awkward but again i'm pretty sure the animations right now are more placeholders than a final product.

yeah agreed eat all would be nice and just have the animation loop as many times as the item consumes for balance as then least im not clicking it then waiting to click again, not very intuitive!

I've said this in a similar post and i'll say it again the money made would be considered profit the game already has a budget and they work within it shareholders and CEO's want to make money from this game it's a business and sales are profit. That said if it's deemed successful enough by what they were expecting then hopefully they increase the games budget, but more than likely it wont, again they make these games to make money not break even or just make a few dimes.

[FIXED] OK i think this is only me but i fixed my problem it was my network cable from my modem to PC i have a bunch of spare network cables still bagged and i was like ok lets try basics 101 ripped out the old network cable plugged in the new one and i haven't had a single problem since. I did this after my last post here sooo *checks post* well over 2 hours of testing, normally i can't play for 10 minutes before desync issues and everything 0 under 'p' and when i used to log in i couldn't even change weapons without waiting 5 minutes for everything to settle, that's all resolved now (so far) also my ping is more stable and spikes less, so check your network cables if you haven't already it may be as simple as that for you guys as well. -

Realism all the way thats why i play dayZ, if i want a more fantasy / gameplay based survival game i'll play fallout vegas on survivor mode. -
awesome thanks for the pro tip man! Edit: i'll report if it works as it may help others ;) Edit 2: Tested.. works... kinda... after you set it you still have to resize the window yourself and can't make it borderless or even make it fit close to full screen without it looking really weird lets just say i went back to standard full screen. Try if you like but yeah it works just.. not well I'm sure they'll enable borderless window soon... i hope!

Hunger and Thirst Rate Possibly Intended?

I think they're too long at the moment really as after you get full once it's easy to maintain, just eat what you find and drink in every well you come across i havent been prompted to drink / eat on this current char for 2 days now it's a little to easy at the moment i find. that said i don't want it cut down much if at all really but definitely not extended ! Edit: also i really like the new kinda thought based prompts over the icons it'll be cool if they eventually ditch the prompts and you hear your characters thought instead just 'ugh, hungry' and 'i'm thirsty' to keep the screen clutter free :) -

Yeah i have this a lot too only started happening 3 days ago now i'm lucky to be able to play for 10 minutes go anywhere then go to shoot a zombie to realise i can't change anything i wait 5 mins then all of a sudden a zombies beating on me my gears damaged and i'm bleeding out... annoyance! This started after the last patch for me so i'm wondering if it was something that was changed server side with the last patch (not the beta patch yest the main patch before that) I'd be playing now but i quit as it's just to much of a hastle waiting 1 -2 mins for a door to open sometimes it's lasted over 5 mins before i've given up. sucks! -
I highly doubt there will ever be a time out restriction of any sort, a log out timer yes, a lock in for x time maybe but a lock out timer? i seriously doubt and i bet my mums virginity on it. Think about it guys seriously they've got a team of dev's that would be coming up with concepts of their own and realistically they can't do a lock out, think about how many variables locking people out effect and what about new players who don't fully understand, what they just have to 'suck it up'? no, they won't they'll get frustrated and not come back and bad mouth dayz to their friends instead of sending a positive message a lock out sends frustration which is terrible marketing. The D/C, server restarts, ping, being kicked by dick hosts, desync issues, people with not so perfect connections who don't live in the US (such as me and MANY others) and i'm sure there is many more reasons that i haven't even thought of, the pros by far do not outweigh the cons. The dev team i'm sure has better ideas than this 'lockout' trend going on in the forums, like i said a lock in timer maybe, logout timer definitely but a lock out that physically stops you playing the game? c'mon now guys lets be a little more creative! (not that i have any true solutions) At least when loot spawns work it won't fix server hopping BUT it will mean when i trek somewhere all the loot won't be gone from one hopper 2 hours ago so i won't notice it as much and it will lesson it's impact on my experience! And this is all coming from someone who hates hoppers with zee passion i've even done rant threads, i just don't think a lockout timer is a feasible or even a good idea Edit: grammar

If we ever get to the stage where the games pushing 100 different guns i'd love to see some rarer weapon drops such as desert eagles and AA-12's but as long as the weapons are like 90% civilian i don't think anything should be off the cards as all weapons should be fare game I feel! ... as long as its balanced!

I've actually been doing tests and sitting in empty servers to watch names change as i'm pretty fed up walking into places always ransacked i haven't been to a full army base in 2 days even when i run up the west side after a fresh restart it pissing me off ANYWAYS on topic doing my tests keeping in mind the 15 minute lock in thing as it has been suggested before and it wont work sit in an empty server and watch and time the hoppers are in for 10 - 15 minutes anyway so even if they are in for only 10 they won't care about 5 mins and is they're looting the bigger places like airfields i imagine they're taking closer to 20 mins. Just my 2 cents either way server hopping is ruining this game for me making all my trekking void.

lol poor bad mojo i don't think anyone actually read his post he even said and i quote! "I'm not saying it has to be done now or anytime even soon" presume he added the red after the backlash, yeah i agree or at very minimum once every 12 hours, i think it's good to keep the servers fresh and reset at least once a day but the 4 hour thing is needed as it is now. I hope when spawning is fixed that it'll be tamed down! (honestly i feel right now they should reset every 2 hours as any server with 30+ people is empty after an hour or 2)

I'm pretty sure the Dev team would have a pre allocated budget i really doubt any of the money goes back into the game but more would be seen as profit, that said seeing it was successful it would also (hopefully) mean they will allocate more funds to the project but again i highly doubt much (if any) of the profit from sales goes back into the game remember this is a business and the CEO's and share holders want to make money not just make money to give it away, they need their expensive lunches and yachts guys!

Honestly this is why i like this forum there are smart people with opinions and it's not all just i am right you are wrong people discuss their view not attack and force their views, as right and wrong are completely subjective and a lot (not all) but a lot here seem to get that also have my beans for disagreeing with me but providing a good counter debate haha. I see what you're saying i still do not agree just because as soon as you put in a dice roll people are going to get mad as you're taking control away from the user if i insert an IV drip into myself in game and all the gear is pristine and then i die and lose everything because the dice gods said 'you shall not pass' that will break my spirit and make me not want to play i mean on damaged items yes have a chance of getting sick or causing bleeding but it should all be gear dependant and never be an instant kill roll let me die by my hand by my mistakes and if junkies can inject themselves (the lowest form of human intelligence lol) and not kill themselves i feel i can also put a needle into my vain and not kill myself. As for the medical system i feel knowledge should be power and at the moment i feel it is (but still should be harder) like i pick something up it's obviously a medical item but i have no clue when or why i should use it however someone that does know what it is and what it's for is going to have an advantage over me, really it's the same thing as the accuracy debate going on at the moment a random dice roll telling me when a shot is a hit or a miss under the exact same conditions is just not reflective of the real world (Again looking at this as an apocalypse simulator) it should be based on my skill as the player not the random pattern guns are producing now all skills in this game should be skill based on the player a player who can judge wind speed with a shot, a player who has medical knowledge a player who has hunting tracking knowledge a player that has survival knowledge should have an advantage in those situations not have to be at the mercy of the dice roll. I like DayZ mod and i like DayZ SA i just feel leveling systems have never had a place here and should remain away, every other zombie game already essentially has a leveling system why take the magic away from this game and make it generic as the rest. -

Thats true and also sort of what i was touching on too i mean when our char does die if we walk away with a story to tell that is value right there, his life although now gone was valuable and if hes lived a long time and had many funny interactions or close encounters with other players that to me is what makes me strive to keep him alive. Our chars live and they die and we hold the memories, a player who doesn't care about his character I doubt cares about a level grind I'm presume everyone here does care about there chars because they're discussing this and want even more however my personal opinion (not saying i'm wrong or right) on this is if you turn this survival game into a grinding stat based game with character progression that scares and sounds horrible to me, as it will create a leveling mentality look at all games with levels and stats (i play far to many of them but thats not what i want for this game) it's all a race to max out and when you reach it you're done and you leave and things seem more tedious and less valuable you'll not care about your char but care about your stats they're 2 different things. Leave levels stats perks to the fallouts WoWs and skyrims this is a game about survival and human interactions, I just think people are looking at this the wrong way. -

I don't think their should be any value stats wise or anything based on the players character just like real life in game we are measured by worth (possessions) that's the reality of the world and dayz's system at the moment is a perfect reflection of that as it is how it is and would be in the real world, if you don't know someone else and they have what you want need do you value more their possessions or the strangers life? It's up to us to value our own life with the stories and experiences our character has (just as i value my own life based on my real world experiences good and bad without them life is meaningless as what happens when we die our possessions get divided up, that's life) and it's up to others to judge us based on what we have, just as it is in the real world it's a shallow, shallow place. so deep lol -
Do'h that's where i was looking but the drop down box was locked so i was confused (thats why i thought i needed a code) then i just realised i still had the game running... sigh i'm an idiot thanks!
