Yeah since the last patch pre christmas i'm having it too and crazy desync issues which were never a problem for me before the last patch before christmas i can't play for 5 minutes now without sync problems or freezing, suuuucks. -
Yeah once he's made the character he has to click 'set default' that will make it his starting character it confused me for the longest as well haha

Yes they do, all early released games do and have (name me one pre release game that's gone down in price) it's one of the perks of buying early, you buy early you save money later, the down side is you have an incomplete buggy game that may never live up to what you hope for. Where people who wait for the full release don't have to put up with the crap and can decide on a finished product.

Because it's being sold at a discount during alpha the price will only go up (at beta then full retail version), i imagine the full price will finish at 50-60 dollar range then 3-6 months after that you will get your sale ETA: at least a year would be my guess

Are you clicking the 'default' button after you choose it the default button sets the character as default; it's weird, hopefully they change it to confirm or something more user friendly later on!

I just want all things to spawn everywhere more common junk in militaries more military in the useless houses don't get me wrong they should have extremely low spawn rates outside of their most common areas but there needs to be a reason / incentive to search every house and right now there isn't, i can now walk into a town and know what houses / buildings to hit and what ones to miss which is pretty much the same as dayz mod again, we've now got all these pretty open houses that are useless! So hopefully later on spawn rates will apply everywhere just ultra low in non common areas, that's my dream! Edit: i should proof read before i post not after but whatever.

but i like riding solo, it makes my pants forever shat... enter town apply the following: doors open; oh god... no zombies; oh god... random eating / reload sound effect; oh god... an actually visible survivor; has emotional breakdown I like living in fear of other people i don't want to help them... I like the idea to have the community help but i don't like the idea of us voting it should entirely be up to the dev team as it's their game and honestly we will ruin the game we all think our ideas are the be all and end all but they're not, again though i do like the idea and it'd be a privilege to have the devs select a weapon a skin a building a whatever to implement in the game that someone made. -
I'm liking the new spawns so far, it does in my opinion seem like people are complaining for the sake of complaining (whether it be because of change / gear / bandits / what have you) as this may not be perfect but nothing is and it's a lot better than what we had before, which was really a joke and making 95% of the map empty space where now places i used to go for easy supplies have already been looted and now people are even heading to NWAF and the boat which used to be my easy pickings places, so if you ask me (which no one is) getting more activity around the map means that the new spawn system is working or at least a significant improvement.

Pretty sure the 0-9 key issue is actually a desync issue -
As far as i'm aware half the reason for them customizing the engine for themselves was so they could constantly stream updates to the engine and so far we had 3 updates in the week they were working so once they are back at work i'm assuming it will maintain at least a small patch a week type progress.

Comparatively to other forums i've been active in this is definitely a smarter bunch than most gaming forums provide! But hype dies you have to take the good with the bad the worlds not perfect neither is the forums and especially the internet in general that said however even with the dumb threads and the repeating topics and flood of new players the community itself has a lot of good posts as well it's a pity some of the more interesting ideas aren't picked up on though. Plus the games popularity although might bring in the more uncouth crowd is good for people that aren't here for the lols but do enjoy the games plus its broad appeal at the moment can allow players that might love this game but never of bothered with it before to try it out and also become upstanding forum citizens!

It will die off the initial hype of the game and it selling well brings in lots of new kids who saw it on the youtubes and wanna be cool kids too, these dudes more than likely don't even know this is a survival simulator just think it's a loot grind like BL2 with pvp in a gta open world map. once the game builds and new things come along they will get bored and move onto the next hype bandwagon, all that said the game selling well and getting good publicity is great for the game but bad for the players (but in the long term it's all win for us players not here for the hype) so what can you do!

Agressive wildlife [Official wildlife topic]

I approve let the wildlife take back the world! it'd be nice for the ferociousness of nature to be as intimidating if not more so than the zombies themselves making you not want to sleep in the wild but rather risk running into players / zombies by hauling up for a house in the night than risking the wilds. I like layer systems in games that force you into tough situations and wildlife that might try and steal food or eat you for food in the wild while your ill prepared would be awesome, im 100% sure im living a pipe dream right now... but it's nice to think about lol -
thankfully i'm a simple gun type'o'guy i just want my 870 (with a wooden pistol grip o course as im like gansgsta n shiz yo) and a m1911 so i should get both my wishes some simple guns for a simple man!

haha yeah new spawns are kinda like bums wild cards with nothing to lose can never trust a bum!

all survivors are immune so i don't think there will ever be a mechanic like that, i would of loved a turning mechanic though just so even in groups someone could turn any time adding even more depth to party systems and who to trust but yeah. seeing we're all immune doubt anything like that would happen.

So don't pay for the server join someone elses server and buy your own when more options become available as if you can't justify it at the moment there is no point to continue, then in time when you feel it's worth it then sign up for it :)

I like this ideas as much as people hate twitch shooting there is no auto lock in dayz like COD / BF and plus our muscles work in the twitch fashion muscles don't smoothly release and contract they do it in twitches for example slowly move your arm back and forth or your head side to side hell even watch someone's eyes move; they contract in short sporadic twitches. i like this idea making the weapon collision matter over a smoothing effect, purely for the authentic nature of how muscle fibres work in the body. -

whats concerning me most about this discussion is whose these scientists feeding people, people to test the effects! haha is it speculation or what as i don't recall jeffery dahlmer having side effects or are they basing this off of cannibal tribes? just wondering are these based on scientific tests or scientific speculation? this is actually interesting to me is that bad haha ...(i'm totally not planning on picking up a man diet i swear :P) -
