Arma 2 got serious problems with animations, interface etc, but its powerful in other aspects like weapons, ballistics etc. I think I prefer it more like a mod, I dont play DayZ all the time and some times I want to play the "Old" Tactical Shooter game so I play Arma 2. On the other hand Arma became DayZ already so standalone will be good idea so players who dont like DayZ (if there any) will be able to play Arma. Another problem I think will be the Arma 3 release, if DayZ mod will be released for A3, Arma 3 will became DayZ again and all the Arma 3 content will be for nothing... standalone means new game engine or it will run on Arma 2 Real Virtuality / Arma 3 engine?

I think, for now there could be added towns etc. to cherno map there is a lot of empty fields in the game

he probably played A2 free so he is familiar with the game. I think its worth it... or wait till A3 is out and buy it instead...

lol, you can't pick apocalypse this is what happened and you have to deal with it... this is the most interesting part of the game, but its should be reworked completely so it will be more interesting than how its now.

at least vests may protect from zombies hit so I think its a good idea.

Non-enterable Houses are Non-enterable this houses are just empty, they are just textured boxes... the only option is to wait for Arma 3 where all the houses will be enterable

As I know a lot of players and clans etc. setting up camp and hide all the vehicles out side of the map, I think there should be trigger in both left and top of the map to say that the player is leaving the game world and if he's not return he will die. for all those who needs extra "reality" it can be simply explained that those areas are more infected and that why you cant go there... :cool:

you dont pick knife in Arma... its just drops all the mags that cant be used by your weapon... -
what Smixon suggesting is to use Namalsk map instead of Chernorus, google translate cant translate sentences... As I know this map is taken from S.T.A.L.K.E.R game... all those who dont know Russian, you cant read the stalker books, this is the best books I ever read. Dayz is far from what stalker meant to be so the map will not fit dayz game... also the amount of work that needed to do to use this map is the same as to create dayz mod from scratch

Spacecraft 100% right, everyone shoot on sight even if he's not a bandit, I think each player should decide for himself if he is a bandit or not, and then play as one of this persons... this will bring dayz to whole new level of gameplay! killing everyone who is better equipped than you means that when you will take his equipment you will get killed too because of the same reason, think about this. :idea: -
Hello survivors! :P *edit* this is probably the wrong forum for this, if possible move it to the general... this post is a bit long please read it, I just tried to explain the idea in general I think its time to organize the survivors, maybe its happens already, I think maybe servers that want to play like this will add some word to the server name so player will know. its just pointless to run to cherno or elctro after spawn find some pistol and then get shoot in the back or the knee :D so I think about creating survivor cities (server based), organize some kind of elite forces to fight bandits, make every survivor part of the game, now we just walk and search for things alone or with small team, it will be much interesting if every survivor on server will have some tasks for the global surviving and not just for them self. If its was real life, people would get organized to survive. I mean, the apocalypse happened but some people managed to stay alive so they want to live a life as similar as possible to their previous one, at the conditions of the current "new" world. maybe current dayz version not support any of this functions but with proper organization its could be done and maybe Rocket will add some features... suggestion: adding radio to the game, player will be able to get it from the survivors camp, or dead police man/soldier zombie and communicate with other survivors, for example ask for air lift in case of emergency, announce things etc. example for tasks: - elite team to clean some town from bandits, hunt bandits. - team of 4 players should find chopper parts - collect food supplies and bring it to the city etc. - secure the survivors city etc. well bandits will have harder life, and will be able to do the "real bandit" stuff and not just shooting players... as there will be betrayers in the camp they can capture players etc. its just a sketch, I mean I wanted to explain it in general and the examples are only for better introduction of my idea... sorry for my English :blush:

bandits are those who shoot first they won't shout "surrender" they just shoot you... (in the back most of the time, or dc after it...). there is all kind of people playing dayz... and even those who wanted to play as "human" and don't kill humans can't , because everyone kills everyone... and all those scared players who "shoot on sight" even if you spotted them minutes ago and didn't killed them, they will kill you...when they finally see you :\ also if you playing for a long time, you found all the cars and put them outside the map found m107 etc. zombies won't be interesting anymore.

great idea! 5/5 but I think all this leg break thing should be edited and make it not so often... Its just getting as same as the "arrow in the knee" joke... every time all the time -
there was at least 2 more posts like this, and there was a solution for this: someone will come to you and kill you so if you die in game you die for real... this is the best solution for all those "extreme realism seekers"

you was able to do 99999 hits with it??? :D then you need to take one hatchet to tool belt and one to the primary weapon slot then take the second hatchet when you out of ammo :D I think some things require much "deeper" editing of Arma engine and game files, so this is the best solution to create melee weapon, maybe just to fix the reload bug...

this would be nice, will make survivors life much easier... I hope Rocket and the Dev team read our suggestions...
