[FIXED] Server problems which prevented people from getting in.

Hey guys. I know this is a really touchy subject on this forum so PLEASE bare with me: Since about 11 months I have been hosting PvE servers and I want to switch them to PvP instead. But, because I have seen what a lot of admins on private hives are doing wrong with people that kill them, I wanted to avoid the whole PvP part of the game and just be admin and avoid that fact that people could be thinking I abuse my powers even though I don't. If there were no issues with admins abusing their powers, I would happily join the PvP party and play for real. But that's the problem: there ARE issues with admins on PvP abusing their powers. And I would understand if you would say: Don't be ingame! But that's not the point of being admin. If I am admin, I want to be ingame enforcing the rules and taking measures agains people not following the rules, helping with glitches, etc. etc. (that is what I have been doing on my PVE servers at least) So, guys. Any advice on what to do? I know there are people on here that know everything about this because of their expierence so please share it with me and help me out with this issue that I want to cope with. Thanks! How good is your internet connection to the server? The only reason where I can think of right now is packet loss on your side.

To me, your problem sounds like a server issue. Contact the admins of that server and ask them if they use any antihack or if they know about the problem you have.

Target Practice has a good point there. I was afraid of what he describes in his post. Just ONE little scumbag has to cream admin abuse over the side channel and every guy who wants to believe that will leave the server. And all just because an admin had better skills than the player he killed or something like that? Nah, would rather not experience such a situation and not play on the server at all. And using admin abilities to avoid players on the map is kind of a stupid way to play.

Is that a new term; fast FPS? And btw, SSD..... Yeah right. Give me clear proof that DayZ.ST is using SSD's cause I am pretty sure they don't. I have been hosting with them for about 1,5 years and their servers are slow as fuck.

I can do some stuff if you like. Depends on what you want though, I am more into the scripting which actually makes the game more fun or that make your server look better. Not those bullshit scripts like towing and lifting. What I can do is stuff like a nice watermark in the bottom-left, loadingscreen, autorefuel with my custom eye-candy notifications, a script which shows anything you want on the player their screen when they login which looks like movie credits, dome scripts that have a basic idea: not out after a certain time? You're dead. Well, that basically sums it up. Let me know in PM if you can use my help or not and how much you can/want to spend.

Skype has its own settings for microphone usage and it usually detects a device with microphone by itself and puts it as default. However, ArmA 2 does not do that, it picks the microphone that is being used by windows. What you should do is check if the microphone for your headset is selected as default in the windows settings. (don't change that setting while ingame, game needs a restart to load those settings again) @narkoman what bullshit is that: "post your pc specs"..... that doesnt make a bloody difference at all. If you really want to help people, just get some more knowledge first.

Yeah it looks like it is using usb so I guess virtual surround also. If you can not find how to change the sound mode in the software, try to look around in the windows settings for the headset. It should be in hardware&blabla > sound > turtle beach x12 headset.

Maybe update your windows. Sounds like a lot of functions are not working because you do not have installed the latest .NET framework files. Might wanna try to update windows if it hasn't been already.

Hmz... I might be completely wrong here, but it sounds like they get a skin which includes a map by default. If not, then there might be an error in the loadout script. Might be worth checking your .RPT log for errors.

Are you using headsets that have virtual surround? I did, and I have the same problem. I will never buy that commercial crap again. Although my current headset (corsair vengeance 1500v2) also has virtual surround, but it can be switched to 2.0 stereo which is still better than that virtual surround bullshit.

If you are the only one having this problem, (which sounds like it) then you should start to look at your provider or router/modem.

I am afraid there are none. Some vanilla DayZ version hav or had it, that's it I guess.
