Thats been discussed endlessly in many threads about it. Its been deemed imperfect. Christ its you again with your 'If this solution doesn't fix the problem 100% its not worth it.' philosophy. I don't see you offering up alternatives. -

Never you're assuming people only server hop to kill other players. They really don't. The only people that server hop to kill are snipers that aren't gonna be next to the loot anyways. The few times I've died have been due to hackers or server hoppers spawning right behind me. These guys were going for loot, most of the time I was shot by an enfield or winchester. Your proposed counter to the OP's solution still involves someone running 1.5 kilometers to get the loot. You're a fool if you dont think that will discourage server hopping. -

A ten-fifteen second delay before actually disconnecting wouldn't punish people disconnecting for technical reasons but would kill people trying to abuse it. -

I like this idea because it rewards for good actions. The reason the bandit skin didn't work is because you never knew if someone had worked hard for a good player skin, you only knew if someone had killed a player before (maybe even in self defense). Introducing a skin for good actions will reduce killing on sight by fathoms more than introducing only a skin for bad actions. Would you kill someone you know worked to earn the right to wear this 'good' skin? People complaining about realism such as whitetigershiro and martin and mr two need to remember this game is not meant to be completely realistic. Morphine instantly heals broken bones guys. Rocket prefers to use the term 'authentic' in these situations. Something that gives the game a more authentic feel is what he wants in the game. If a bandit wants to work at first to secure a semi-'good' skin in order to get close to certain people and be able to murder them thats exactly the kind of thing rocket wants to be able to happen with a feature. As long as it doesn't force people into a certain playstyle then it's all good. In fact maybe the bandit skin thats included in this suggestion should be removed and the only thing bandits have to lose is their 'good' skin (assuming they earned it to get close to people and murder them). Punishments for playing a certain way will NEVER be introduced into this game. -

In real life people would not be killing the way they are even in this situation. It's as simple as that. The majority of people are unable to just kill other people for no reason, ESPECIALLY if they just came from a civilized society. The reason people kill on sight in this game is because theres no moral consequences. There's no moral consequence because this is just a video game. As much as it is supposed to be a simulation it is still just a video game. Therefore some sort of artificial consequence needs to be added to simulate the moral consequences of killing someone in real life. -

Convenient how you switched from only caring about people coming to your server with 'ill-gotten-gains' to caring about how this might actually affect anyone besides yourself. You dodged my point, allow me to state it in a different way. Someone with NVGs at night vs. someone without NVGs at night is about as balanced as someone using 3rd vs. someone not using 3rd. In fact blindess is a bit more of a disadvantage than being able to see through/around walls at certain angles in certain situations. And rocket has NO INTENTION of nerfing NVGs in any way. -

If you'd like I can link to plenty of quotes from rocket saying how the game is not and never will be balanced, and that this isn't a game in the traditional sense. It's art. A social experiment. The thought of this being a pay to play MMO would probably make rocket sick to his stomach. 3rd is about as fair as having NVGs on a night server. Shall I remove the choice you have to use NVGs when you remove the choice players have to play how they want? -

No what you said is exactly this on page 2: "I do simple as that. what I don't think the mod needs is exploiters coming from 3rdperson=1 servers with loot gained from the exploit available with 3rd onto the server I'm on." This doesn't make sense at all because people that like using third person are going to keep using third person and never come to your server. Its a personal preference not a cheap way to get some gear so they can 'start playing for real' as you would put it. -

Forgive me for reading the first three pages and finding the OP infuriatingly dense enough to reply to. Why would you like to remove the player's right to choose servers with third person or not? Just to let you know, it's not an advantage if EVERYONE HAS IT. Fuck if anything you'd WANT the people used to using 3rd to come to your server. They're out of their comfort zone and easy pickings for the leader of a 'realism unit' that's been playing this way since the game's inception. What exactly are you so afraid of? -

This is stupid. OP is assuming everyone thinks like him and that servers with 3rd disabled are the only 'real' servers and that items from those servers 'have more value'. Well I'm used to utilizing third person view. And I will never come on to your server because I'm used to utilizing third person view. The same applies to everyone. People that like the hardcore experience will stay on the servers that offer it and people that dont, wont. What the hell kind of twisted logic was applied to thinking people have an advantage if they acquire loot from a server with 3rd enabled and go to a server without it!? YOU'RE STILL ON A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD WITH THEM THE WHOLE TIME!!!!! Hell you'd actually have a fucking advantage over them since you're used to surviving without 3rd and they wouldn't be. christ 10/10 would rage again -

The smoke grenades from the m203 seem to be more effective at distracting zombies than normal smokes. Zombies were running right up to my friend after he fired the rifle. He then fired a smoke grenade fairly close to his feet and the zombies broke off from chasing him and went after the bouncing smoke grenade till it came to a halt. They then just stood around it. -

You REALLY weren't trying very hard to group up in your video. You're basically attacking a straw man here by trying to convince us that video is how it always goes in day z. Hang back, watch him for a bit, when you feel you're ready, call out for friendly in direct comms. Direct is clearly audible up to 60 meters. Use common sense for fucks sake man. This game does not and never will hold your hand. There are other methods of discerning someones intentions besides artificial methods inserted into the game. The people that don't need these artificial methods are the ones who live the longest. -

Honestly if I killed a post-apocalyptic cannibal psychopath that was trying to kill me or my loved ones I sure as fuck wouldn't feel bad about it at all. At all. And neither would anyone else o.O I don't kill on sight but if someone attacks someone in my group I kill them and feel no remorse.
