    Deer Stands - What Do You Want To Spawn There?

    For fun i used to design makeshift military fortifications for my architecture projects when i was supposed to be designing nonsense like fancy houses and shopping malls. The image is a picture of an bus shelter that is meant to be an outdoor space that provides shelter, i think alot of places in CHernarus could be redesigned with similar concepts. Fire station i am looking at you. Hell i want a swimming pool in the NWAF and a submarine base on Skalitsy island
  2. The Dam, another location with potential. I designed an arma 3 mission entirely around the Xirolimi dam and dried river near the West side of Altis. It was a place where you had to defend and use the wall for cover against an oncoming assault and the narrow ravine where water would flow was the place the enemy was ambushed. Fire comes from both sides of the cliff, APERS bounding mines along the floor.

Good idea Irish, this it the type of discussion i was aiming at, as a forumer on Dayz forums ive always been more congenial with threads that provoke insightful discussion and were usually long winded meaning you had to do alot of reading and creative thinking that solve problems to serve a higher purpose than say, what kind of firearms you think should be introduced in the next upcoming version.

    I had the idea deer stands turn into small bus shelters along roads where pre-infection a public transport network would ferry passengers by bus on and off at these stations. It is more usefull a question of designing the "deerstand" into a space that in real life would hold the loot that you want to spawn in the game. Like this it would have reason to spawn a wider variety of loot classes (residential, farm with the occasional pistol lying about)

    3rd person cover system

    Third person view is exploited for exactly this purpose all the time, if this is the case they could just integrate it into the game mechanics. Take a look at this video of the rainbow six cover system, this is exactly what i suggest. I don't see the implication of this mechanic causing any problems that already exist, if you want to take the argument of unreal periphery angles that give unfair combat advantages, it makes no sense because third person already exists and the only solution you can argue for is total removal of the third person view. Thats why for a fair PvP challenge people like me play hardcore *fistbump

    I have this deal where i am to trade some high value loot with a stranger i met on the forums. I dont trust this person very much so i will have a friend to be a body guard for me ready to kill if this person decides on armed robbery or ambush. I need suggestions on a good place to carry out the trade, a place where i can escape and fight back if this turns out to be a trap.
  8. Attachment system concepts for the shotguns. As you can see they are even more versatile than assault rifles, and since Dayz nails the attachment system for assault rifles excellently why not extend this feature to shotguns like the blaze 95 and upcoming pump weapons. I think it would serve a wide variety of practical roles applicable to a zombie survival game that the survivor would find impossible to part with in real life.
  9. I want to see real civilian airports like in Altis and a port used for ferrying tourists not an industrial one. Recently we have police stations and single story hospitals added. What other types of buildings do you want to see added in chernarus
  10. BEER AND SMOKES. Makes your screen drowsy and swirling with colors. Body vitality temporarily restored and all actions are performed faster. Vomiting? COCAINE AND NARCOTICS Super strength and speed for a duration at the cost of severe blood loss and sickness after the duration, repeated consumption builds tolerance.

    Please, say NO to helicopters.

    I have solution: 1. make helicopters use a different type of fuel from land vehicles and make that fuel extremely rare and raise the rate at which it depletes during flight astronomical. 2. Reduce the fuel tank capacities of the helicopters so for example they cannot travel more than X number of kilometers without having to be refueled. 3. Motor sounds attract zombies anywhere within 150m(example) above ground. 4. Create a skybox? Cars will then be a more viable and feasible option for transport than helicopters because of how troublesome it is to maintain a helicopter.

    What buildings should be added/redesigned

    A redesign of the airfield buildings to have more rooms and floors I would also be necessary. That and a weapon storage warehouse for weapons to spawn in because guns are not stored in solider barracks.

    Because its all about the money money money... ... Its all about the price tag... honestly this community is a joke, look at all the straw man arguments being made, its almost like there are a bunch of "regulars" that patrol the forums scouting for threads complaining about slow development to make their bullshit point that an alpha early release game has the right to develop a game at such an incredibly slow pace with pathetic progress befitting of a poor first time indie game studio of two friends. I mean what is this? The Dayz alpha avengers, I can imagine their slogan "alpha avengers assemble, we have a thread questioning the competency if it overlord dean hall, we must mobilize our forces to spam that thread with as many nonsense and straw man comments as we can. We know there isn't any logic behind our cause and we could never prove our ridiculous point with coherent reason, so we must drown out his opinion with masses of our nonsense and out number him to make it seem we are right".... Bi has the right to do what they want whenever they want, if they decide to add unicorns and rainbow guns into the game, they have the right to but that doesn't make it right. It is a fact that compared to other giants of the gaming industry they are moving at less than a turtles pace, if this is even a close representation of the progress made. More than 60million dollars were made in the span of a few months, now I don't know the salaries of game developers but if anything they should try their best to please and satisfy their consumer base in return for their support. It has been 3 years since de development of the "server architecture" started and If after all that a mess of desync and crashes is all that they have to show, considering there was mod which they based the design around was already in existence that should have given them a head start, it is an intelligent statement to say that many other studios would have made more progress than bi having the same amount of capital, resources and time that they have. So yes this is a game in alpha, but ignoring all the fan boys and religious fanatics here the facts speak that the dayz project is slow and overdue, most of what is in game is mostly ported over from previous content in the mod. They should hurry up regardless of how many staff have been hired, fire the project manager and sell the project to another studio that will handle the project better they don't improve.

    Bloody screen when you take damage

    Instead of the abrupt flashes of greyscale where your screen turns black and white when you take damage i think blood forming on your screen is a holistic improvement of a laughable game mechanic ported from a A2 mod. Pretty much like CoD but there is a reason this bloody screen mechanic is featured and implemented in almost every fps game in the entire genre, it is a good feature that players enjoy. Although featured in the CoD series which is synonymous with poorly made games. Edit: Find your own examples of what you think the screen should look like when you take damage and have low blood from other games and post images of them.

    My wish for night vision is that it only illuminates the area of within a certain radius form your character and the rest gets darker and darker as you go further. Balance is key to here because we dont want to give NVG players an enormous advantage over players without them.

    Thats actually a good one, a shame on moderators when they post comments less constructive than members. I think that combined with peripheral blurring would be good, and increased head bob.

    Yeah irish there really is no logic there, to take player choice to such ridiculous extents i say i want to complete a legendary level of halo 4 with only 1 grunt. I like this idea and it has been around for a long time, server matchmaking. It would however only be feasible when the maximum player count of a stable server is many time more than just 40. Cheers for 150 players servers :)
