A workable idea but also a reprehensible violation of video game design ethics and a straight up turn off for prospective purchasers of Dayz SA. Though 8 hours is rather strict imo, 1 hour should be nice and in the mean time during the 1 hour wait the player can play some minigames added as a side to the whole Dayz game while they wait for the 1 hour to be up. Then again a person can just minimize their screen.

I would like the option for some kind of easy to cook food like stew that requires meat, vegetables and water. That or the option for different cooking methods: boiling, roasting, frying. Each method requires different crafting ingredients and eash time the product is a different food with different stats.

I had this problem too, dont know if its still there or went away lol. Its an arma2 engine problem, try turning off atoc? or otherwise ignore it lol.

In my opinion a great deal of the survival aspect relys on the player not being in proximity to food and water sources(with no map) while instead having to survive on wild plants/ animals and natural water sources. The first thing to do would be to scatter the spawn points all over the map AWAY from the big cities and towns in remote and deserted locations. Of course this suggestion then nulifys the premise of survivors washing ashore on a mysterious island. This where i say Chernarus+ needs to be entirely redesigned from the fundamental levels with changing the positions of spawn points in mind. Only then will exploration and survival gameplay aspects be feasible and workable.

I've been thinking about that. Perhaps the cosmetic look of your player can be so highly customizable like in skyrim where it takes half an hour to tweak every facial and body feature into the character you like. That would surely be an incentive to keep your character alive?

There is opportunity to add more items like individual matchstick that have a 60% chance of lighting a campfire while electric lighters have a 100% chance. Salt, cooking oil, seasoning, preservatives to keep food in your backpack, frying pans. So many ideas !

What about a clan that exists for the express purpose of killing other clans with unconventional tactics like infiltration and undercover espionage ?

Seriously guys...They have to recipes that can be made with naturally present food stock items on Chernarus. Please dont suggest things like burgers and pancakes.

There are cows and lobsters could be added with a fishing mechanic of the game. DUN DUN DUN !! Hell it would be fun robbing a guy of his fishing basket and cooked lobster.

Makes sense as your body can only adapt and strengthen itself after living in rough wasteland conditions, as long as you are properly taken care of.

You replied in about 5 seconds of me posting this. You have all my cookies. On a side note its absurd seeing players keep on running to their violent deaths at the airfields just for some precious gun when this game is about survival.

What are the current problems with gameplay at night and what can be improved? Share your views and stories on this topic. Edit: My opinion is that NVG's are too rare and the only tool that gives you even a tiny chance of survival at night. Without a pair you're pretty much stumbling around in pitch dark with a beam of light that tells everyone within an enormous radius 'hey look at me i cant see you but you can see me' why not take a shot at the pretty light? Also the kilometer wide view distance at night the NVG's allow is nothing short of completely unrealistic, while the flashlight essentially makes your a slow moving target for everyone to see. NVG's are too rare and hardcore players who are the only ones who will have a pair are have an extremely unfair game-brekaing advantage over players without them, not to also mention the skill difference, this explains why so many players avoid night time servers and choose to play on 24/7 day time ones. Immersion breaking but necessary in order to survive A small suggestion: give the flashlight the function to be attached on any weapon and increase luminescence ALOT. Reduce the NVG view range at night. Street lamps on roads and towns.
