    E3 and our attendance

can anyone ask rocket about these 4 issues: 1) Foliage / camouflage ... as grass dosn't show in the distance there is no way to observer or snipe from the distance. In my opinion that is a big flaw and needs to be changed. 2) what about running speed? the character shouldn't be able to run too fast (what it looks like in the E3 Demo). In ARMA2 you can run 100 meters in 20 seconds and in 15 seconds if you are sprinting .. fully equipped. They should not increase that. 3) what about the color? The game still looks very bluish / dark .. even though it is broad daylight. 4) did they remove that ridiculous sun glare? seems that way (maybe because of the darker / bluish tone) ... thanks
  2. Do some of you remember the game "Joint Operations - Typhoon Rising / Escalation" ? (Only the best game ever) Hiding in the grass worked absolutely perfect in that game on both short and long distances! You were almost invisible if you were lying in high grass or bushes. In that game grass / foliage did also show only in your proximity and you couldn't see any grass in the distance - but that wouldn't take away your cover and you would stay hidden. Don't ask me how that engine worked, but it worked better than any of the ARMA engines (regarding camouflage) ..

unfortunately the lighting is always somewhat annoying in game .. regardless of the settings.

I still hope they do something about the lighting and color. It is way too dark an blueish ! Some people say it's just because of some clouds or the time, but in every video it looks the same. Someone posted some screenshots how it should actually look .. also the sun glare seems to be way too much, just like in the mod if we look at some old screenshots. Also the change of light / color in the current mod is just ridiculous. If you change your field of view the glare / lightning changes completely .. everything is colorfull if you look to the ground and if you look just a little bit more straight ahead / up it's getting darker. These changes are way too extrem and just unrealistic. especially as they also occur indoors ... So please Dev-Team, do something about the colors / light / glare .... because in the game you experience these changes in lighting / glare very strongly but in realy life you don't even notice it that much. So it realy is just annoying. Look how bright the desk and the lamp look / reflect the light:
  6. I noticed in the mod that the names and descriptions for a lot of guns & items are incorrect and make no sense at all. Same goes to the function of some items / guns. So i want to ask the dev-team to please do some research before giving your items some inappropriate names and descriptions. Or just hire someone who has the specific knowledge. I know a lot of people don't care about this, but as i know some things about this stuff, it kind of realy bothers me as it is just unrealistic and wrong. Just a few examples: - You call your regular M16 / M4 magazines "Stanag magazine" ... STANAG stands for "Standardization Agreement" and relates to specific procedures, equipment and so on within the NATO. It doenst just relate to one type of ammunition. - The G36 can take those "stanag" magazines .. but in reality the g36 has it's own magazines. There is a special adapter for the g36 to take M16 magazines, but then it can't take G36 magazines anymore. - You can't fire regular "stanag" rounds with your silenced m4 ... that's also just bullshit. And please call the rounds "Sub Sonic" no "SD". i could go on, but i guess i made my point. So, i hope rocket or someone from the standalone dev-team reads this and takes my request into consideration. Thank you.
  7. right now you can not fire regular 5,56 rounds (stanag) out of a silenced m4 .. but in fact that is absolutely possible in real life and even common practice in close quarter situations. also you can fire subsonic ammo out of an unsuppressed m4 / m16 even though it is less effective than regular (supersonic) rounds.
  8. it may have been the plan to set one type of mag as a standard for 5,56 but that didn't realy work out .. also there is more than just one nato caliber with it's own stanag number. no one realy refers to them as stanag magazines as it's kind of an old term and it was only important for the manufacturers to make "stanag compliant" products / mags. Everyone just refers to the mags as AR15 or M16 mags ... or just USGI mags in the US - compared to the PMAGs for example. That is true my friend. All i am sying is: They are adding a lot of equipment and guns to the game, maybe even things we did not have in the mod. Therefore they have to give these items a name and description ... and all i am asking is: if you have to write something about these (new) items, just take 5 more minutes and use wikipedia so that you get it right. Or just let someone look over it so that there are no big mistakes .. (even i would do it for free). I guess there are more (correct) possibilities with the standalone, you are right. Taking the bullets out of the DMR mag and put them into your m24 makes sense as the m24 has an internal magazine. But if you have an empty DMR mag it should also be possible the other way around ;-) And why can you use ur NV only with the DMR (scope)? ... even though it's not a perfect fit to use NV goggles with a scoped rifle and can make some troubles. I know it's all not that important, but if they do things from scratch anyway - why not do it right?
