    Long term endgame suggestions

In the Standalone they've already confirmed that they have hundreds of different clothing articles implemented and they plan on making many more. The only direct rewards you should get from clearing out a horde or group of zeds should be; 1. The loot that any of the zeds had on them 2. The fact that the area is now safer from them.
  2. To be straight on the point; why not have the ammunition spawning changed up where magazines will spawn empty or with less ammo than full capacity, as well as finding individual bullets on the ground. Besides being realistic (I mean, not ALL of the ammunition is going to still be with the original magazine), it would also give players a reason to take empty ones. You'd have a chance of spotting small bullets around but you wouldn't have much use for them if you didn't have a magazine to load them into, so you'd might want to take an empty one to keep your ammo supply up. This could also keep ammunition rare, as most of the ammo you find would be incomplete so it would be a much more valuable resource. Just my two cents on this idea.

[SA] Looting Empty/Depleted Magazines and Individual bullets

You're all welcome people. Sorry I was born.
  4. Well, I don't think the fact that you can carry two types of the same rifle justifies removing the ability at all. I mean, the M4 is a very compact rifle and there's generally no need to carry two of them but it is easily possible to put a second one in certain backpacks, or sling it over your shoulder. This would be a mainly pointless endeavor because they draw from the same ammo pool but it allows you to provide weaponry for multiple group members and with weapon degradation, you could use it as a backup weapon. And that also doesn't mean that you couldn't carry other weaponry. You might take that lucky M4A1 which you've tricked out with an aimpoint sight, m203 grenade launcher and whatever other accessories, but the 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition is relatively rare (And will be super-rare in the SA if anything the devs have said is true). You're not going to want to waste your very rare ammo on a couple zombies or to shoot an animal that you were hunting if you'd need that ammo much more for that huge horde of zombies you somehow managed to encounter or a hostile player who has a lot of firepower. Instead, you could carry a CZ-550 in your backpack for picking off stragglers or hunting, because the ammo is more common and the weapon is useful in different ways than the M4A1. I definitely agree that there should be drawbacks for carrying multiple firearms with a lot of ammunition, but it can come in handy a little more often than you'd think. Unless you'd rather shoot a moose with a Makarov.

What's your opinion on the 1.7.7 patch? (POLL)

I don't know why people are complaining about 'lowered loot spawns' so much, it still seems like gear is super common, it's just very spread out in an unrealistic manner. Still, raiding the NWAF with my buddy turned up; 2 MP5s, 1 DMR, 1 M4A1 and 1 AKS-74U, and a fuck-ton of ammunition for the MP5. I don't like how unrealistically spread out the loot is, though.

Give us a melee weapon slot!

I'm surprised that you were able to say; I'd always read that it's slot based, with weight being considered later down the track with weight being considered later down the trac And yet come up with nothing based on what you said and what I was exactly talking about. God, I can't understand why everyone hates me so much.

    Get rid of chernarus.

It's really just all me trying to narrow it down that you are not looking for an M14 or even an M1A?

    To Everyone Complaining About 1.7.7

I still think the game is too easy, the loot still feels too common and the zombies are very easy to outmaneuver.

Give us a melee weapon slot!

I was referring to the planned system

Give us a melee weapon slot!

In the standalone, the system is supposed to be driven more towards weight than slots, so hopefully you can carry more than one weapon of a type provided you have adequate materials for doing so. Like what? Its' gameplay is almost entirely Hitman style stealth and not very intuitive. The environment and story-telling (Not the story itself, to be particular) were done very well but Chernarus is a completely different environment than the United States and at the moment, there's no official story to DayZ. The games are superbly different.

    Get rid of chernarus.

I never really got this out of you; but do you still think some sub-ordinary weapons should appear in the SA or would you be more content if all of them were made in eastern soviet-bloc countries and Russia itself, with few exceptions?

    .357/10mm handguns and revolvers

Well, obviously the M14 hasn't been standard issue for any unit (Except I believe one Washington National Guard unit) in the United States Military since the 1980s and most were replaced early on in Vietnam. However, we sold off a ton of those to our Cold War allies so I'd like to believe at least some would militarily show up. It also begs the possibility that Chernarussian guerrillas or arms-dealers [Which it is quite obvious that it has its fair share of] would have some of those. Of course, that's just speculation, because arms dealers will generally use any weapons they deem sell-worthy. I'd also be fine with an M1A and the DMR replaced by the M39 (For realism, the DMR actually is no longer in US service at all.) but of course I'm mostly against the concept of 'replacing' weaponry but moreso making it super rare unless it makes absolutely no sense [Like the DMR, which no other countries use]. I agree with you on the Minimi and MAG too, but it wouldn't be consistent with the idea that US forces entered there. Then again, I don't really care, as long as I see some sort of that gun I'm fine with it. I'm sure the only people that play the game who REALLY do care whether the gun is an M249 or a Minimi would probably be us forumers :-P. You're right and wrong; Yes, the main problems with the jam actually came from the M16 [The original variant] when they were issued to US Soldiers. That was because they did not issue ample gun maintenance supplies and that version was very prone to jamming. They then upgraded to the M16A1 which had far less jamming problems, however they still had quite a lot of problems. They weren't really 'solved' until the M16A2 when jamming became a lot less prevalent and the military started issuing better cleaning and maintenance gear. Nowawdays your M16 model will probably not jam as long as you keep it maintained, but it still has problems left unmaintained. Still, modern versions are much more reliable and in combat I'd still prefer an M4 over an AKM.

    .357/10mm handguns and revolvers

I'm fine with 10mm as long as we get a cameo of Fallout's N99 10mm Pistol. I agree with you on the M40A3, Enfield, DMR, M240, Mk48, L85 and Remington. However; assuming that guns like the M4 are in and Americans played some part in this (All the HMMWVs around say something) the M249 should be an albeit rare find. The M24, like the M249 is a common sniper rifle in the US military, and is very commercially exported, I'd expect it to at least remain while being rare. I'd like to have the M14 still in (Without the Aimpoint) because its slightly common worldwide but just in general a nice weapon to have [i'd still like it to be very very rare]. I don't really care about the current Winchester, but I do want an 1887 [sawed-Off]. But then again, I don't really want ANY of the weapons to be 'Replaced', just made very rare. They already exist and having a huge variety of weapons still adds to the depth, but I'd be fine with them only spawning in specific places and at very, very fixed rates.

    What the Standalone really needs.

I think it's best left ambiguous, but I'd like to have some sort of backstory to Chernarus in at least military/government and outside presence so we know what kinds of weaponry and other implements to expect. (I mean obviously weapons like the AKM and AK-74 would be popular because they are super-common in post-soviet state weapons, but say Russia sent in relief troops, many of which whom were killed, leaving newer Russian weapons like the Bizon PP-19 or the PKP Pecheneg. Or maybe Takistani Black-Market arms dealers hoping to make money delivered shipments of guns and ammo (Like the G3A3 or FN FAL) to civilians who were willing to give up some cash.
  15. Nail Guns are not very good weapons at all, they only have any power up to 4-5 feet away, after which they will lose almost all momentum and drop to the ground (Coming from some guy who's used one to help renovate his parent's house). Most nailguns also require batteries or air compressors to even shoot, so you'd be carrying around a heavy one or batteries, which would make it completely impractical for anything other than a slightly longer than melee range weapon that needs constant maintenance. Nailguns are hardly silent, they are quieter than most firearms in SOME cases but they can be loud as shit, trust me. [EDIT] Ninja'd by BigMike.

DayZ Flaws/Suggestions For Making The Game Better

Loot in the cars does not 'disappear'. If you fill it up to the max in inventory to the point where it can no longer hold anything, then it will automatically place any items you place on the ground. Unfortunately, it does place them about 5-10 feet away from the vehicle's cargo which makes them hard to find in grass, as well as the fact that it ignores trees/objects and they will get stuck inside them.

    DayZ Easter Egg Ideas

Um, you shouldn't really 'suggest' easter eggs, the whole point is that we DON'T know about them and are supposed to be surprised when we see them.
  20. Galil is Israeli, and the M1 Carbine and M1 Garand are both American, though I would like to see them (The garand is a pretty popular civilian rifle, the carbine is not as much but is a great gun nonetheless. The Galil would be badass. And on the note of 'replacing' the M16 with an AR-15, no. I don't get why ever weapon added has to replace a different gun, just have both being concurrent in the game and make the M-16 rare. Besides, the M-16 is one of the most common military firearms, falling short of very few other than the AK series, it's common enough that it makes sense to at least limitedly appear (Maybe different variants; M16A1, M16A2 and M16A4 anyone?). I'd be fine with making the m16 and foreign military weapons be rarer. On my note, I'd love to see these; - Maxim Machine gun (It's old and a collectors weapon, many militia groups today still use these and also modifications [Like the Lewis/Vickers guns] so a few of these would be interesting at the least) - MP-38/MP-40 (Post WW2, many german weapons were sold off to other countries and MP-40s alike continued service even into the 1980s as main infantry weapons, chances are that Russia would've passed on MP-40 stocks to Chernarus as aid during the cold war. - M1A/M-14 (Yeah, there's one with an Aimpoint, but I'd like to see one with just ironsights as well as M21 sniper rifles and such. The M1A is a civilian version which makes more or less sense) - RPG-7/Type 69 (The most common Rocket-Propelled Grenade Launcher as well as its Chinese copy. Both of these have been used in so many conflicts worldwide and are in use with tons of different nations and guerrilla groups. While these could still be super rare, it would be nice to have at least some form of explosive weaponry besides grenades and m203s. - M79 (I mainly want the M79 because its solely a grenade-launcher [unlike the M203 mounted rifles] which means that you could take advantage of the grenades being offset by the obvious repercussions of using it at any close range as well as it being slow) - M72A3 LAW (Specifically the A3 because of its enhanced range, the M-72 would be another one of those more situational, super-rare weapons which have the potential for much destruction and combat support but are limited outside of areas. Assuming vehicles can be used more efficiently in combat in the Standalone, the M-72 would be helpful for eliminating an assaulting pickup or whatever, but it's heavy and only can be used once, so you'd have to determine whether or not to take it.)

Petition for Mountain Dew on SA Game

Does it HAVE to be Mountain Dew? I'm fine with them adding some similar obscure product that is also super rare and is coveted but seriously, it's just mountain dew. The only reason you REALLY take it is because it's so rare, just like the Silenced PP-19 (Though the 64 magazine does help, the ammo is so rare and it's so weak.)
  22. Chaingunfighter

    More guns.

I have no idea where the Mosin and Ruger 'confirmation' came from but it indeed says on the features list of one the older devblogs for the Standalone: "Mauser Rifle" Not exactly sure which one, I'm assuming a Karabiner-98 but who knows, older ones would be interesting.

Nothing, but that's the point. Do you really want to waste your limited ammo on someone who may or may not be dead?
