PSL is Polish, but I understand what you mean. I want to see a Vz. 58 and Type 56 but I don't really see the need to have too many "AK-47" styled guns (In the end I think it'll probably be an AKM, AK-74, AKS-74U at the least and maybe a few other common models) -
Merge w/ Standalone suggestions thing, pls. Not a mod suggestion

I'd find it more realistic for them to do a Mini-14, which is a civilian level gun. Then again, I want them to do an actual M14 but most others disagree with me :P

Right, let's just get rid of all of the hard work we've placed into a gun, including some specific attachments that will probably only work on that gun, until we put more hard work into a different gun. Just have it be rare, there's no sense in getting rid of it. And how do you know? The M4 is becoming increasingly common on the world-stage, I'm not finding it hard to believe that a few would be there. However, they do need an AKM, AK-74 and AKS-74U and they should be more common than the M4.

Do you think that the inclusion of the FNX-45 (Really the FNP-45, but it's only a 3 year difference) was really any better? Somehow I think the DayZ Devs included it only because its' new and players like having brand-new weapons to play with. That's why the UTS-15 shotgun is showing up in everything all of the sudden (Even the fucking Walking Dead, which the UTS-15 shouldn't exist in considering the apocalypse then happened in 2010). The same thing happened with the Kel-Tec KSG and the Kriss Vector. As for the Nagant 1895, do it. It'd fit well for the scenario.

They urbanized a lot more of the map and flattened many of the hills, so it really seems like you're traveling less distance, as hills seem to take longer than flat ground. Also, as much as I'd like a rad zone, I can't really see how it would be justified in Chernarus... Did they have a nuke explosion (Which would require them to level a huge portion of the map) or was there a reactor meltdown (Again, requiring heavy modification to the map and also a reason to justify Chernarus ever building a fission reactor) -

Gear Levels/Rarity: A decent idea, to say the least. However, that would still encourage people to run around and look for gear at specific locations, rather than search carefully through closer buildings. This concept could work if mixed with some form of randomization (I.E., there still may be something valuable in the houses, so you have to decide whether it is worth it or it is better to get off of the coast to somewhere where more items are guaranteed). A major problem with this would be that they use the same models (although there is variation) and the spawning of items goes off of the building's model. It would take a very long time for them to either change the map so only certain buildings spawned stuff or they coded loot to every possibly spawn individually. Also, no AK-12 or M107. Although I'm not particularly against the M107, I just don't feel you could justify it actually being there even with US involvement. The AK-12 is an experimental gun which would probably never show up, either. I'd rather have the rarest (Russian) AR be an AK-100 series gun instead of an AK-12 or AN-94, considering those have a higher degree of service. Additionally, an Arctic Warfare .338 would probably be your largest justifiable high-caliber sniper. -

Yeah, I don't like being shot only to find that every single item in my bag is completely ruined. What, did someone plant a fucking grenade inside my bag while I wasn't looking? I know the partial reason for everything being damaged is to stop people running back to their corpses, but it does get annoying that one 7.62x54mm bullet will somehow ricochet off of every item in your backpack before exiting the hole it came in. -

I wish it would just be a server option, but the people on this forum seem to hate letting server admins change the server at all, so my second bet would be a default 1:4 ratio. -
It's funny, because my ingame character is John Doe :P. I never did this for any sole purpose, but I've had it since I picked up ArmA 2 in 09' and it's just stayed.

Making the game harder does not mean that people will work together. It just means that everyone will kill others even more in order to survive on their own. -
Really? I'm pretty sure most would be fine with a Mauser 1898/KAR-98K, Walther P38, Mauser C96, Colt M1911, and possibly an MP-40 and StG-44.

Except for M1911s, but you could hardly call the M1911 unique to WW2.

Oh, I was stating that on the basis that the USMC was in Chernarus to some extent at the time of the outbreak. I can see why people would not like it, though, as both are 'modern fps cool guns' but it's the only way I can forsee them having something like an HK-416. Whatever, I'd rather them have an RPD/RPK and a PK first, but any gun that they add I'm not gonna complain about being in. They'll probably completely avoid MGs or high-capacity weapons for a good portion of development and I won't complain if they do.

Yeah a 98Ks and M1898s still show up occasionally alongside guns like the Mosin, SKS, AKM/Type 56, FN FAL and G3A3 in the hands of militia and whatnot, so I can imagine that a few farmers here and there would use them. Also, Mausers are cool rifles :P

If they added any western weapons, the M16A2/M16A4 and M9 are probably the most realistic, as well as some non-US guns like the FN FAL, G3, FN Minimi and FN Mag. I'd also not complain if they had the M27 IAR, M39 EMR and M24/M40 if they could justify the U.S. Marine Corps involvement My 'ideal' western guns to be added:

It doesn't matter, things need to be tested and a lot of secrets actually do go undiscovered/unreported for a long time. Trust me, it took the DayZ wiki ages to become updated to the point where it had basic info on even the four guns. You could also argue that releasing patch notes generates more hype than not, as people considering buying the game may see a new addition that they want and decide to get it. Besides, most people would just go and look at the configs and see which files were modified by the day of the patch, and they'd discover most of the new additions pretty quickly, so it's moot. -
I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every time this (or something similar) was suggested. Rocket has already said that it would not be possible to have zombies with in-game clothes and gear spawn because it would heavily reduce performance, and I'm guessing that this falls under the same category. Besides that, it seems to make sense that the in-game survivors are immune.

DayZ isn't in 1990, though. DayZ is set at the very least in the present (or more likely a few months in the future) due to the technology that's found; the FNX-45, for instance, is only a few years old. -
Well an FNX-45, Colt Python and to some extent an M4A1 aren't realistic either. The M4A1 is common enough to justify but what Chernarussian is going to own a $3,000 out-of-production American .357 magnum, or a .45 ACP gun that's only been around for two years and has hardly had enough time to even export to the US? I'm not saying I advocate for adding 'fps' guns, but to argue that they shouldn't be in because there aren't enough around is poor, unless you do want them to get rid of the FNX and python. And how about all of this Magpul and CQB gear for the M4? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------\ And on the WW2 guns, all of them shown except the experimental guns and the Gewehr 41. The Gewehr is usually only shown in movies/games because the Germans didn't really use semi-automatic rifles all that much whereas the Americans had the M1 Garand and the Soviets had the SVT-40 (Which still wasn't very common but saw reasonable use) and thus they would need one for balance or whatnot. The Nagant M1895, KAR-98K, Mauser M1898, PPSh-41, SVT-40, M1911 and TT-33 are weapons I actually want a lot, but the rest are up to the devs. Technically you could include the RPD on their since it did see some WW2 service, and I definitely want the RPD in game.

Yeah, I'm all for having guns like the M1895, TT-33 and Makarov take over as the 'common' pistols (relative to others). The Python should probably stay, I don't want them to abandon their hard work and I don't think they would anyway, but it should be made rarer once more guns are available. However, .357 caliber ammunition is definitely believable, as is .38 special. Also, I can imagine that ammunition will be rarer, but guns like the SVD share ammunition with the Mosin-Nagant, which has common ammo. Instead, how about have the magazines for the guns themselves be rare? Obviously you would still be able to chamber single-shots on some guns but if you had a gun that you have no magazine for it may not be helpful. (That's what would make guns like the Mosin and the SKS [With the default clip] useful, as ammo you find can always be loaded in)
