I don't like the non-sawed-off IZH-43, what's your point?
-
I actually want to see a Tokarev TT-33 first. Although the Makarov is a good choice, the Tokarev is a more civilian pistol. The main reason I feel that they should do it first, is because the FNX-45 is a military handgun and the Colt Python is a revolver, so I'd like a civilian semi-automatic handgun first. That being said, the Makarov is a good handgun and I want to see it.
-
I tried to keep that in mind while posting, but I figure that because of how internationally popular the P220 series has become that it's not unrealistic to at least find a few around that were being used for testing. I'd much rather have them focus on improvised weapons and eastern handguns like the Makarov, Tokarev, Nagant 1895, MP-443 and Walther P-38 first, but still, in the long run I want to see a Sig : )
-
I think they should do what they did in the mod; have a small chance of spawning with an item relating to their status before becoming infected (Military zombies would sometimes have ammo/gear, Civilians would have food/trash, Doctors would have medical items, etc.) I don't think zombies should spawn with any weapons on them, though, and if they do it can only be something small like a knife.
-
Unexpected things turn up, and sometimes disconnecting becomes necessary. What if you're playing with a group? I don't want to have to kill someone else just to disconnect.
-
This would be a death sentence to anyone who accidentally gets hit by a zombie, as being hit by even one will guarantee that every other zombie in the town will be on you.
-
They also need to have an Eotech/Kobra sight. I would love to be able to actually use the M4 in close quarters with the abysmal accuracy it has.

Please! Add to the game the opportunity to develop vegans or raw foodists!
Chaingunfighter replied to koba09's topic in Suggestions
I can guarantee you would not want to eat raw food after the apocalypse has happened. In the modern day and age, 'raw foodists' can get away with it (not that I believe it is, in any way, better for you) because even raw food is well preserved and cleaned, but you would never want to eat an animal you just killed raw, nor food that's been lying around for days, or weeks. No raw-food/veganism is necessary in a survival game, the only reason we have vegans now is because we do not need to struggle to survive on a daily basis -
But in the context of this thread, it's just listing off pretty much every gun and item ever suggested. Most of them do not fit the scenario (I.E. TDI Vector, FN SCAR etc.) or are just not common enough (Sako R-95, for example). I do want to see quite a lot of the guns suggested, though.
-
An amazingly high amount of seven. I think that a Mini-14 would be a much better choice. .223 ammo instead of .30 and a civilian weapon that probably exists in Europe.
-
I'm thinking the water pistol would be too unbalanced, even if realistic. The Existence Eliminator may also be, but I think those are common enough to justify.
-
Meh, seems a bit OP. Add [No Random Crits] and it's much more balanced (looking at you, Valve.)
-
Well, I can't imagine nonlethal rounds being too common. Even then, it's really stupid to use them in a firefight unless you were desperate. I would only ever switch to those rounds if I really needed them, preferring regular ammunition over them. I can say having some form of nonlethal ammo would be cool, though, because incapacitating an enemy would work for bandits or people outside of firefights.

Master List of Equipable Items the Community Wants in the Game

It's not not "my" site, I just contribute to it. Not a lot of people do, though, which kind of sucks, because I find that almost all DayZ resources are incomplete at the moment. -
Master List of Equipable Items the Community Wants in the Game
Chaingunfighter replied to - Karma -'s topic in Suggestions
Yeah, there's no guarantee any of it will be in the game until it's in the game. I always tell myself to be sure of that, because I've played games before where content was even listed in the next patch notes and ended up being left out for whatever reason. Still, I think it's safe to assume it will be in, the devs have no good reason to abandon their hard work, but nonetheless. I just was pointing that out so the information had a source and didn't seem like it was because I made it up. -
Master List of Equipable Items the Community Wants in the Game

The AK-74M, Blaser B97, Ruger 10/22, CZ-75P and Remington 870 aren't rumored, there are screenshots of them around. I just added them to the wiki weapons page whilst organizing it for the sake of having them there, without actually making pages for them yet. I guess none of the weapons are 'confirmed' but it's safe to say that they will be in considering the devs have talked about them more than once and released screenshots. Blaser B97 Crossbow AK-74M (Also confirms the GP-30 grenade launcher) Couldn't find the one with the 10/22, 870 and CZ-75P, but there is a screenshot somewhere on the internet. The SKS has already been added into the game, by the way. And don't get your hopes up for an AK-12 (not realistic, at all) or an AK-47 (Chances are there will only be either an AKM or AK-47, not both) -
Just to make everyone mad: SCAR-L, SCAR-H, XM8 SAW, XM8 Sharpshooter, M107, M82A2, AS50, MK14 EBR, MP412, Five-Seven, MK23 SOCOM, Desert Eagle, Taurus Raging Bull, Steyr AUG A1, L85A1, AS VAL, AN-94, AK-12, HK-417, M1 Garand, G-43, UMP-45, TDI Vector, QBZ-95, AW-50, RPK-74, M60, M240B, MK48, M136, GE M134 Handheld Minigun, SMAW, FIM-92 Stinger, FGM-148 Javelin, Fallout 3 Plasma Rifle, Tactical Nuke, Tsar Bomba, Orbital Death Ray, Death Star, Universal Destructor, Fabric of Reality Destroyer, Existence Eliminator and a water pistol, all of which spawn in every house at least 10000 times a minute.

I would love them to add more enterable areas (they do have some more planned) but I think part of the reason they don't is because places like the hotel are not on a 1:1 ratio with human size (look at some of the furniture inside houses!). Basements are another feature I'd like, but they would be hard to implement on pre-existing places due to the terrain and the fact that they've already finished the loot spawns. I do think that they are good ideas. Climbing through windows is something they should take a look at, for sure. And I do like the idea of having more urban areas. When they said they would urbanize the map more, most of the work went into the North of the map, not really the center or south, which left a vast part of the actual fun wilderness areas gone whilst the inconvenient areas in the higher populated zones stayed mostly the same. However, I do feel that there should be a good amount of remote area left so that people can actually hide tents in safer, unpopulated areas rather than having to be in dangerous proximity to towns all the time.

You can say that again

Yeah I'd like to see the long range scope on, and at the very least have a suppressor for it.

1. Much different kinds of animals - including birds I'm good with birds and animals, so long as they gave them actual AI and they didn't just wander about. 2. Cannibalism Possibly, but it's a controversial issue and not something everyone would want. They'd also have to make the body slow get "eaten" away which would take quite a lot of work. 3. More WW2 Weapons I'd like to see a PPSh-41, Walther P-38, Luger P08, Colt 1911 and maybe an MP-40 (Not the most realistic but fits). I could also vouch for a KAR-98K but it fits the same role as a Mosin-Nagant (Both are WW2 era, high-caliber, long-ranged, bolt-action rifles with 5 round capacity) and also uses ammo that no other realistic weapon would have. Something like an SVT-40 would be nice and the RPD would also be cool. 4. Weather I'd like the weather patterns to change as you moved further upwards, but this would be a nightmare for DayZ so having an overall winter storm would also be cool. However, the ground changing to white would be difficult to code as well. 5. Farming I'd be fine with planting small vegetables or plants, but growing things like trees takes years in real life so wouldn't be very authentic. 6. More clothing You can be assured they will add more clothes, headwear, armor and other things. 7. Craftable clothing Yes, this eez good plan. 8. Just a few rar cars I don't know the authenticity of only a few working cars out of hundreds, or even thousands. That being said, it would be hard to optimize cars everywhere but I'd like them to have quite a few that just require a lot of work to fix. 9. Night vision NVGs will be added in a later update, but I like the idea of using a camera for night-vision. 10. Gamma and brightness @ night fix True, but remember that people need the gamma/brightness settings for older monitors. It's not something that they could just easily fix, if it was they would have done away with it awhile ago. 11. Bigger map I believe they intend to grow the map, but if they don't/can't then they will probably add on to it and create new ones eventually. 12. Isles and caves Caves have been suggested time and time again, but the real problem is making them since Arma's terrain engine does not allow for caves to be made simply. 13. Drop items from damaged bagpack Good idea, but third person people would be able to pick stuff back up and they'd also have to show the backpack being visually damaged, otherwise items would just fall through a solid object. 14. Drugs and addiction Alcohol they should have, but I don't know the likelihood of drugs like Marijuana or Speed. I wouldn't complain if they did add them.

G3 is heavier and has too much recoil, in addition to being old and not being able to accept most modern equipment. It's the same reason the M14 is not used a lot anymore (at least as a standard issue infantryman rifle), but the G3-SG1 and its' successors do make good DMRs (Just like the M14 does). However I do like the G3 and do want one in the SA, just as I do an HK-416 if possible.

Now that I've seen the FNP-45 in ArmA 3, it does look like they did that. If that truly is the case, I would hope they'll add the P99 (P07) too, since it could fit the setting and already exists. The Colt Python, like the crowbar probably exists to appease Walking Dead and Half-Life fans, but they'll probably have more .357 guns in the future (I can't really imagine too many guns with unique calibers in the end). And all of the Magpul/CQB gear for the M4 was probably just done to allow more customization. That being said, I do think that the Ruger 10/22 and Remington 870 should be in the game, as they are interesting and definitely plausible guns, but IRL only a few of them actually make it among the other guns That is like how movies/video games show rebels and armies using everything from G3s to FN FALs to KAR-98s where in reality they would probably only have AKMs/Type 56s and maybe a few other weapons. Now as for the M1 Carbine, I'm not in any way suggesting that it will be added (nor that it should or that I want it to be) but I'm saying to argue from a certain standpoint offers low credulity even if there is a basis. But whatever, time will tell. The StG-44 is really unnecessary considering it is not found a lot any more and it has a caliber unique to it. The Walther P38 and possibly MP40 would work because they are 9x19mm, and I wouldn't be mad if they did a KAR-98k (Again, unique caliber though), but the KAR-98 would fill the same role as the Mosin-Nagant (5 round bolt-action, long-ranged rifle) does now so there's no real point in them making one until later in development.I do want to see a P-38, though. I think it's reasonable enough.
-
They haven't been doing that, though. I do not understand why it is imperative that every weapon in the game need to be 100% realistic for you, even a gun nut like me doesn't care that much. I like the FNX-45, I like the Colt Python, but how realistic is it that you'll find them? In fact, how realistic is it that you'll find a Ruger 10/22, Remington 870, or M4A1 at all? Those guns are common on the world stage, but individually it's unlikely that you would find them at a reasonable rate in real life. They have a Ruger 10/22 because of the large demand for .22 guns in the game, but the realistic probability of one appearing is almost zero. And never say that "the devs won't add this weapon" because people said that about chainsaws and look what happened.

A better way to handle inventory and item damage from attacks
Chaingunfighter replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in Suggestions
That's what I was hoping would be best, I just don't know how exactly they would set up the hit registry. I'd assume the best and quickest method would probably be for them to just assign random damage values for some items (With larger items having a higher chance of being damaged)
