Well forcing a walk-only system on the zombies isn't simple considering the AI base always has them run, not to mention that shambling zombies would be so much easier to fight because of how slow they move and being able to outrun them quickly. -
I've never been bothered by the private hive system, but a lot of people dislike it because servers often lose popularity and people migrate elsewhere, thus ridding you of your loot should you want to play with others. Additionally, a lot of people do not like private hives because they allow for modding & addons (something I don't personally care for one way or the other) and it is often seen by said people that mods "killed the original DayZ mod". However, I'm not sure about "a couple of each per server", at least until loot respawning is implemented. After that, then I'd be fine with it, as it still allows you a chance to find something good at a military base.

This was posted over a month ago, and not everyone checks Chris Torchia's twitter 24/7. Besides, if it isn't confirmed people are going to ask for it, and saying that it's on a wishlist is not necessary indicative that it will happen (he said himself that it's wanted but not guaranteed as of yet)

As long as the weapons are rare I see no problem with having more military guns. And the AKM & SVD are absolute must-haves (especially the AKM) considering the location. Obviously server-hoppers can essentially negate the rarity, but the variety isn't really going to change anything. We already know that they have a very long list of weapons they want to add, like craftable bows & crossbows (as well as factory-built variants), more melee weapons & yes, plenty more civilian & military guns. They do plan on increasing the zombie number, which I can stand by, but making headshots only would not make sense considering that DayZ zombies are infected, not undead. Additionally, the current AI makes headshots very difficult with them strafing and warping through obstacles. And if they made them shamblers, then they'd be too easy even with headshots only and vast numbers. I'd just like more zombies and things like disease being more prevalent, but nothing artificial like super buffed health/speed or headshots only is necessary.

As well as FN FAL. Actually, it just confirms that they want a lot of different guns :P. At least we know they've considered it. Then again, they've probably thought over pretty much every single gun even Gews could think of (even completely nonsensical ones like the SCAR or Famas)

Even with 200+ player servers it would be so sparse considering the size.

Bandits will always be more of a threat than zombies. Unless they make the zombies unnaturally overpowered, then someone with a rifle is still harder to deal with than a horde. What's wrong with more military weapons? Guns are a lot easier to add than brand new weapon-types like bows/crossbows which need their own animations, ammunition and coding separate from guns which the engine isn't even built to support!

Because they've shown screenshots of mostly completed content (some of its' even in the game files!) that isn't in the game yet, while they're focusing on brand new stuff they haven't shown off; ala the grenade launchers and AK-74M, as well as NVGs & GPS. Not complaining about it, just miss-wording how they may not necessarily pick a sensible lever-action (There aren't many that would be). I'm sure we'll have one eventually for variety purposes, though.

I'm not sure, the DayZ team does not seem to be consistent with what they want. Not saying I care, I like the new CZ-75, 1911 & MK2, but they chose the SP-01 Phantom, AWC Amphibian S & some modernized tactical 1911 variant instead of ones that made sense. And they also had an M-203, GP-25 & AK-74M and now they are all on (quote Chris Torchia's Twitter) "indefinite hold" (but they are working on the AKM & SVD, so I can't complain)

Why they renamed it to the "Sporter-22", but changed the brand to "Cougar" and still kept the "Model 10/22" text is beyond me. Obviously the patent text is something people will very rarely pay attention to, but its' food for thought. -

The SKS, Mosin 9130, Sporter-22 (Ruger 10/22), IZH-43, CR-75 (CZ-75), 1911, as well as the upcoming AK-74M & Remington 870 all make sense. The M4A1 & Blaze, while not being common firearms, are not unreasonable either. The Python and Amphibia S (AWC Amphibian S, aka Ruger MK2) weren't the best choices, but the MK2 in of itself is not a bad choice. The 1911 modern-ish look is really just the same thing that happens with many other games; the weapons appear where they should, but their specific variants are wrong. The MK2 was obviously intentional, but I find it pretty cool to have a pre-suppressed pistol in-game. Edited section And honestly, if people are just mad that they haven't done an AK (even though the AK-74M is coming), or Tokarev, or whatever, lighten up. We'll obviously get those guns later, the alpha's weaponlist is probably going to pale in comparison to the beta & full one. -

The content team is separate from the programming team. In essence, if they stopped adding content, we would have the same fixes, but no new content in every update. It's not like they can just magically go and fix every single bug, a lot of which are based in the engine. Even if they had everyone stop and go to fix it, it isn't always simple and we'd be waiting for a very long time before new updates came, only to bring fixes. -

How would you be able to justify this from any realistic position? You wouldn't be able to tell whether someone had a lockpick on them anyway, and if they were dead it wouldn't explain why the lockpick isn't lootable. -

No special infected are going to happen, but I can agree to the idea of having some slight variation (Military/Police zombies with kevlar vests and helmets making them harder to shoot, etc.)

I laughed so much after seeing the non-serious weapons post. "Fallout 3 Plasma Rifle", "Tactical Nuke", "Water Pistol" Does OP seriously think people want these?

It's just variety, there are plenty of acceptably realistic guns. I don't think we'll need to worry about any AS50s, M107s or DMRs. We might get an M14 variant, and SVD, but nothing "OP". -

I don't see why not. I have a wireless headset that runs on a battery. While it does run for quite a while, I'm not spending my entire time using said headphones playing DayZ, so often I'll need to recharge it and thus be unable to play with a mic. This is not a huge problem for me, but it'd be very useful if it ever did happen, and I know there are people who would greatly appreciate this. -

By "more guns", are we talking higher spawn rate of guns, or just general variety of weapons? Because I'd love to have a ton of different actual guns in the game, whilst having their spawn chance significantly lower than now. -

That happens to people who die from sniper fire, getting run over and simply being shot from someone hiding. Helicopters are a lot noisier and chances are the possible standalone helicopters won't be Apaches that can shoot you from miles away; i.e. you'll know its' coming and you can hide or at least prepare. I would like the ability to shoot small arms from helicopters if mounted ones are not added. -
