I don't think every animal in Russia would be in Chernarus. Keep in mind, it's on the border in the south of Russia, and Russia is the world's largest country, so obviously a diversity of animals would exist. Bears & wolves make sense, but I really doubt you're going to find much more than that. I'd prefer they focused on passive animals (moose, deer, rabbits, etc.) and tougher zombies than making hostile wildlife, anyway.

Thompsons? Greasegun is a possibility but I doubt you'd find an M1A1 or M1928. Greasegun and MAC-10 are the only reasonable .45 SMGs I can think of. And yeah, H&K makes some .45s, notably the UMP-45.

I'm sure we'll find a way to make craftable melee weapons. But it seems like there's a huge division of the people who want to keep DayZ's gameplay somewhat modern and ones who want it to be essentially like the Stone Age (Bows & Crafted weapons only, very few guns.) They're good ideas, but it would feel pretty weird using a flint-head axe or club in barbaric furs to charge down a guy with an M4A1. (Shout out to Civ 5)

Shadows seem to hardly make a difference in most cases, unless you're in a big city. I run DayZ at max settings and I can't say the shadows stand out as "amazing". Even Arma 3's have some quirks, although they heavily improved them over A2:OA & Take on Helicopters.

They also use the M4A1, although it's been mainly replaced by the new CZ-805 and M4A3. Not to mention it's a fictional mixed region that the devs can do whatever the hell they want with.

The original AK? Hardly fits at all. Sure, you can still find them, but most are lost among the countless AKMs and Type 56s, which together make up about 2/3s of all AKs. Even if you meant AKs in general (AKM, AK-74, AKS-74U, etc.) I'd still think guns like the Tokarev TT-33, Makarov PM, Nagant M1895, and already in-game SKS and Mosin-Nagant M1891/30 fit the scenario just as "perfectly" I'm with Gews and Irishroy on this one. This is the single gun I refuse to add to the weapon's poll, not because I hate it (the Desert Eagle is very cool, however impractical) but because I am completely against it being in the game.

I'd rather just be able to make them.

I tried to have variety to see what other people want, not necessarily the most realistic weapons. If enough people think the Nambu is interesting then I say; "Why not?". Yeah, it doesn't fit the scenario (in my mind), but it's not any more unrealistic than some of the guns already in-game and is interesting. My only pet peeve with it is that it fires 8x22mm Nambu, which essentially nothing else shoots. I also wish people actually read the descriptions, or at least looked at the pictures before they voted :|

That, or you're just trying to make an excuse for something that no one is mad about. Pretty much everyone makes dumb posts their first time on the forum. But making awful excuses offers you little credit, even when no harm was done.

I'll probably put that on the revolver post, because you asked :). I can't guarantee anyone will actually vote for it, though. It's just a poll, if an overwhelming number of people seem to agree with you then it's probably important to know.

Depends on what you define as western. A lot of the aforementioned guns are German, Swiss, Belgian and Italian, and we know that the P-38 is coming. I personally think that guns like the C96, Glocks, Sigs, Luger, (and obviously the Tokarev & Makarov) are must-haves simply because of international prevalence. The rest I differ on, but I'm not going to vote in my own poll :P

I think it's reasonable to suggest having a working variant of a common wreck in the game. Also, most unarmored Humvees cost around $65,000, still a hefty price but not $140,000. And U.S. equipment does get left behind, usually when disabled enough to the point where it cannot be moved quickly enough, it even happens with Abrams tanks. Plus, the U.S. often exports equipment to countries that it invades; that's why Iraq and Afghanistan have Humvees and M4s in their arsenals now.

Yeah, you'd find more of all of the guns he said were "nonsense" than AK-12s.
