    1. Victorynox Knife / Swiss Army Knife I'm not entirely sure how common they would be in somewhere like Chernarus, and the amount of work needed to make a heavy multitool item might not be worth it. Absolutely no exclusive items for "buying DayZ early", though. Everyone should start the same, regardless of whether they bought the game yesterday or last year. The only differences between newly spawned players is their knowledge from previous lives. 2. Leg Holsters Been suggested a bunch before, so they probably will get in at some point. 3. Military Rations Yeah, they were added in an update to the mod so I don't see why not. Would make traveling to military bases for food a good option. 4. Bullet-Making Making bullets requires more than just empty casing and gunpowder, not to mention all of the machines needed to do it. Not something for DayZ, honestly. Flare guns would not burn and "instant-kill" you within 15 seconds from the inside out, nor would I want to be spraying fire-retardant fluid on an open 12 Gauge flare wound. Also, when you go into the water, it isn't creating an invisible-to-anything-but-flare-projectiles layer of kevlar, it's still going to enter your skin and do a lot of damage. The main damage would be done from having a flare stuck inside you, not from you comically burning alive.

    "Cooking" grenades is an incredibly (super-emphasis on that) stupid idea in real life. As soon as that pin is pulled, you throw the grenade, you don't sit there like a moron trying to have it explode on impact like a tank shell.

    Why do you keep going on about the "balance" of the rifles? You seem so insistent that weapons with any range be limited to low-capacity, slow-firing weapons for whatever reason. It's sort of irrelevant to the thread, but why do guns like the SVD or M700 annoy you so much?
  4. The AEK-971 and AK-107 are too new and haven't spread around a lot (at least, not yet.) The AN-94 was supposed to be heavily used but was found to be too expensive and thus only sees selective use now. The AK-12 is still in the prototype phase. Half the guns on that page were only used in Russia, never saw major production (or any at all) or simply just aren't found anymore. I don't get why some people think that anything Russian inherently fits because it's Russian, and anything that isn't Russian doesn't fit because it's not. Please, no bees or wasps (or any "hostile" bugs, for that matter). They would be essentially impossible to detect and only annoying. Also, I'm not sure you'd find that many deadly snakes in Chernarus. Cassette tapes would be interesting, but MP3s are relatively pointless with radio music stations & simply using music from your computer. Salt should be a part of cooking (using it to preserve meat), I'm not sure what pepper or condiments would add to the game besides variety (This isn't Gordon Ramsay Simulator 2014).

    I'd rather have it be player-driven than game-driven. If someone keeps a note on them with the location of their supply cache, and they get killed, someone could take and set out to find it... only to be killed themselves for falling into the trap. But honestly, at the very least, basic intelligence should be something that the actual player has.

    My point was as follows; you stated that it was "in the mod" )It was not.) My response was pointing that out. Mindlessly insulting me because you fail to understand my point takes you nowhere. Besides, your grammar skills are second to none. If you're breaking forum rules, I am too, whether I get banned or not.

    Move the spawning points

    It wouldn't work well considering Balota and the other high-value areas along that part of the coast. Maybe once loot respawning is implemented, but I'm okay with what they have now. I'd personally rather have spawns around the whole map but a lot of people seem to like the idea of always-coastal spawns, so I support it.

    The fact that something was in Breakingpoint doesn't really make it more likely to be in. And honestly, keymaking kits would be next-to-impossible to find, they just had an abundance in Breakingpoint because it was focused much more on roleplaying and combat.

Probably only get one of those two MGs, and honestly an MG-3, or even Ameli makes more sense, because they are still produced and fire 7.62x51mm and 5.56x45mm respectively, unlike 7.92 which the MG-34 and 42 use (although if the Gewehr 98 comes and it has 7.92, then I can vouch for the MG-42). Gewehr 41s and 43s weren't all that common, the Germans heavily preferred the bolt-action rifle + machine-Gun and submachine-gun approach. The Tokarev SVT-40 makes more sense, and also fires 7.62x54mmR like the Mosin and confirmed SVD.

    7.62x39mm is probably going to be just as common, if not more than, 12 Gauge shells in somewhere like Chernarus. .223 (5.56x45mm) wouldn't be that rare either. Besides, a 12 gauge double-barreled shotgun is a lot higher powered than an AKM or M4A1. Even 7.62x54mm ammo for the Mosin would be reasonably available. People who hack are going to cause a lot of trouble regardless of RPGs or not, it makes for interesting gameplay and it's much more authentic than 1/2 the guns in-game already.

    I don't see why they wouldn't. Even if they wanted to limit the overall amount of ammunition, I think it's safe to say that the Makarov will be in at some point.

    Why no RPGs? They are only single shot and could be exceptionally rare, as well as take up a lot of space. RPG-7s at the very least would be interesting to play around with. If you're too concerned about multi-use then they could add an RPG-18 or M-72 LAW which must be disposed of after they are shot.

    That's not a very good excuse for them to break it. While the liberator would be interesting gameplay wise, it makes no sense.

    You have a point, I too have questioned their choice of content of even stuff that fits (For example, the Yugo SKS over an actual Siminov), but when people start to think that any western influence is impossible that's where I have a problem. It's just falling victim to the same thing other video games do; they get the base idea for content right and then screw it up when they try to go in-depth (Like taking any AK variant and slapping the name "AK-47" on there, but never the precious "AK-74u") or, in this case, using the Kimber 1911, CZ-75 SP-01, FNX-45 and AWC Amphibian S variants of their guns instead of the standard M1911A1, standard CZ-75, standard FNP and standard Ruger MKII which aren't all awful weapons choices (Maybe the FNP, but I digress). Not an excuse, but a moot point anyway, I don't think there's any fixing it (because the devs hardly take advice from the forums) and I'm against them removing stuff from the game unless it's so badly bugged that it needs to be fixed urgently or detracts from the overall gameplay to an extreme beyond just immersion breaking. The soon-to-come P-1 (P-38) may be the first pistol that actually makes sense, on a lighter note. (Even though the P-1 was not spread around as much)

    The devs have made it clear on multiple occasions that they do influence the background of the country heavily on the Czech Republic, even though the land is not exactly where the CZR is.

    The suggestions form is where people from the community can post their ideas for the game to have them get shot down by the rest of the community, not to actually help with current or future development.

    People high on drugs or manically insane will die just as easily as anyone else, they just won't necessarily succumb to pain as quickly. It doesn't take a lot of bullets to take someone down, (in most places), so honestly firing more than a 4-5 shots with even a .22LR (to the torso) should kill them... not 10.

    The only problem I have with mods is that we'll undoubtedly see "500 VEHICLES, 100 HELIS, START WITH M4A1, UNLIMITED CARRY SPACE" servers. However, the benefits of private hives and custom servers do (in my mind), outweigh that, as having custom games to play would be fun.

    I don't think every animal in Russia would be in Chernarus. Keep in mind, it's on the border in the south of Russia, and Russia is the world's largest country, so obviously a diversity of animals would exist. Bears & wolves make sense, but I really doubt you're going to find much more than that. I'd prefer they focused on passive animals (moose, deer, rabbits, etc.) and tougher zombies than making hostile wildlife, anyway.

This page is specifically dedicated to polls on weapons, and there will be a lot of them. Discussion is fine, so long as it is on topic. Responses will be based on people's posts, and many guns will have to be divided up due to the sheer number of allowed guns (I already, as of writing this, have 30+ pistols in mind.) Each poll will remain open for approximately 5 days, before being closed as such. Please read the below information before answering the polls. Also, I will not be doing extremely similar variants of pre-existing, confirmed and/or already polled weapons (Such as the Beretta 92FS and Beretta 92F). If you do not want a weapon to be added, simply do not check a box and your vote will be cast as a "no."     Thompsons? Greasegun is a possibility but I doubt you'd find an M1A1 or M1928. Greasegun and MAC-10 are the only reasonable .45 SMGs I can think of. And yeah, H&K makes some .45s, notably the UMP-45.
