    I find the view on a clearer day with max draw distance to be beautiful. The place isn't too creepy to me, at least no more so than anywhere else. The only weird thing I've ever seen there was some guy screaming "Viva La'Revolucion" into his mic while firing his FNX-45 into the air, and then jumping off after running out of ammunition.

  3. It wouldn't make any sense, and what if you were playing with a group? Should you really have to find your group every single time you guys want to quit? What if your game crashes/power goes out, should you lose all of your progress? Also, combat loggers would essentially get a free pass to safety by having this.

    The 1911, a crappy gun? I doubt it. By today's standards, maybe, as there are better handguns out there, but the fact that it was the U.S. military's handgun of choice for 74 years (not to mention still seeing use today) sort of negates what you said. Then again, a lot of people seem to think the US military has terrible equipment, so, I guess I could be wrong.
  5. I don't think you'd be branded at all in real life besides gaining notoriety, but this is because of the large communications systems we have set up and the sheer amount of people who use them. In reality, though, you're not going to get a cattle-prod mark on your forehead right after you've killed someone. Sure, people might begin to recognize you and the news and police would be on the lookout, but that's all gone in DayZ. If people want to hunt down a killer, they have to use smart tactics. If someone was able to identify them before, then it helps them, but it's not like we have satellites, CCTV cameras, helicopters/planes (as of yet), or millions of citizens on the lookout for them.

    That's why we need realistic bullet mechanics, and the SVD along with its magazines and attachments need to be acceptably rare. Even though there's no real situation I'd ever take a Mosin over an SVD, it's not like the SVD is going to be available 24/7 and you can handload ammo into the Mosin vs requiring a magazine for the SVD which may be very difficult to find. If they add grenade/rocket launchers, you can (pretty much) be rest assured that they will be rare and ammunition be even rarer, so "spam" will be entirely worthless if you even managed to get enough to do that. Also, launchers like the M72 LAW can only be fired once, meaning that screwing up removes you of a very valuable weapon. We probably don't need any launchers until vehicles are added, though (except maybe the underbarrel grenade launchers, since they've already finished those)

    Mainly, but if they were going to use the "US supplied chernarus" then we'd likely see a few modern weapons. Obviously Russian/eastern weapons would be the majority of weapons, but there are quite a few perfectly fine and even necessary western weapons. I really want an RPD in the end, for whatever reason, it's just a cool gun.

    Yeah. I do like more pistols, but they need to focus on making more guns of categories we don't have. Hopefully in the end we can have like 10 variants of every type of gun.

    It is implying, I was the one who said it; I know what I meant. And I'm not saying having a gun with damaged parts is a strech, I'm saying finding a completely pristine gun with a ruined stock is sort of odd. I meant on the extreme level. It'd be just as odd to find a completely ruined M4 save for the handguard which is still pristine.

    They released three damn pistols in the last update (plus the engraved 1911). We've also got a P-1 coming soon. Do we really need more pistols right now? How about some more shotguns/submachine-guns or even just non-guns.

    I was just implying for your specific scenario. I don't actually think there is a need for that kind of thing, but simply that it's kind of a stretch to use that to justify an almost entirely pristine gun save for the ruined stock.

    True, but it'd have to have blood on it, and a bullet hole in it. Also, since you can't actually bludgeon zombies with a weapon as of yet, it would be odd, I wouldn't really associate it with that.

    True. I do like the idea of having guns whose parts having varying conditions (Although it would be very odd to find a pristine M4 with a ruined stock.) What I'd really like is for guns to spawn with attachments already on them, albeit more rarely (or without certain base parts)

    More bolt-action rifles/semi-automatic rifles compatible with scopes. Just have the scopes themselves be rare.

    Exactly. But Chernarus does have a military that would've been supplied by the US military after the war with the ChDZk, hence M4A1s and HMMWVs. They could pretty easily justify adding an M16A2, Beretta 92FS, M249, M240/M60, and maybe an M79 or M72 LAW with that. However, I'd like a Tokarev TT-33, Makarov PM, AKS-74U, RPD/RPK, PKM & RPG-7 alongside their American counterpart.

    Don't know we should worry about these spawning rates with new guns on the lineup soon and obviously plenty more in the long run. The spawning isn't even based on a percentage total of 100%, it just rolls based on all of the values entered. For example; {"weapon_akm","weapon"}, {"weapon_m4a1","weapon"}, {"weapon_mosin9130","weapon"}, {"weapon_sks","weapon"}, {"weapon_blaze95","weapon"}, {"weapon_ruger1022","weapon"}, {"weapon_izh43","weapon"}, {"weapon_ak74","weapon"}, {"weapon_aks74u","weapon"}, {"weapon_deathray","weapon"}, {"weapon_bananapeel","weapon"}, would be tied to; {0.04,0.01,0.05,0.04,0.03,0.05,0.06,0.05,0.03,100,0.100} Yes, I took this directly from the config, nothing edited.

    I'd be fine if they had both an M4 and M4A1, but I'd prefer we get both rather than them changing it, if they do anything with it. The reason the AK-74 sucked in the mod is because its damage was not meant for the blood system that DayZ had, as well as the fact that the ironsight version was pretty poor even with zeroing and, as you said, too uncommon ammunition. The standalone's durability is a huge factor that will probably lead to the AK-74 being used over the M4 (although the M4 is quite reliable and the AK-74 is not known for durability as much as the AKM). But I think you take rarity too lightly. Sure, the super persistent server hoppers will eventually get what they want, but the fact that not only the gun itself is more common, but also extra magazines, optics/custom parts, and 5.45x39mm ammunition, will mean that you'll have a lot more people using it. Would you rather have a basic, damaged M4 or a heavily modified AK-74M with a GP-25, Kobra Sight & Suppressor?

    People will end up using the AK-74 and AKM more because they will likely be more readily available, as will ammunition and parts for them. (Also, cannot forget the classic "AK reliability"). The M4A1 may outclass the other two in most situations but if it's harder to find and attachments/magazines/5.56x45mm ammunition is as well, then you wouldn't see everyone using one. Not every gun has to be balanced over others, that's why we have the 1911 and FNX-45 even though the FNX-45 is clearly the better choice with the larger magazine capacity, as well as suppressor & pistol MRD compatibility in addition to the flashlight.

    The "Dragunov" is the SVD. Also, the FN FAL and SVD are not modern weapons (FN FAL appeared in the 50's and the SVD in the 60's). Sure, you've got modern variants of them, but they aren't really new. I don't think they can justify adding an AS50, nor an ACR. The AS50 is only used by a few military forces, and even then limitedly so in them, and the ACR hasn't been adopted by any military force on Earth, because it was a prototype rifle.

    Seemingly anywhere. I found one on the ship (as did someone else earlier) and I believe a friend of mine said he'd gotten his from a military base.

    He means the sight located on top of the ACOG itself, not the gun. On that note; no, you cannot use it (yet)

    Allow 2 seperate hand slots

    If they added the ability to have two hand slots I think it'd be a given that dual wielding pistols/one-handed weapons would be a given. Sure, it's ineffective at all but point-blank range, but it is badass. I'm not saying they need to do two hand slots now, but if they did I'd prefer dual-wielding just to add to the realism.

    Merle and Daryl are new characters to the TV series. They weren't in the comics.
