Maloney (DayZ)

So occasionally I come across tents in Cherno and/or Elektro. In this case, I'm behind the hospital in Cherno, in front of the hospital are several tents...Now I was going to raid the hospital but the tents have put me off, is it a common way that bandits lure players out into the open with? Or have they just been used and then dumped for anyone to find? I'm not eager to investigate them as it'd be pretty easy to gun me down from inside the hospital as I rummage around.

I'm fairly new to DayZ and I currently launch it using DayZ commander, I thought my character would be accessible on all servers as I had previously played about 6 months ago when private hives didn't exist, but anyway, upon finding out that the server I usually played on was down and then reading up on private hives I decided I'd play on official servers, but when I filter to official DayZ servers I only get one server. Is this an issue on my end? Is the hive no longer active? Please explain as I'd like to be able to play on a wider variety of servers in case there is a server crash or something similar.

Problem solved!! I noticed my version of DayZ commander was outdated, after updating I'm getting tonnes of servers appearing in the server list.

I don't know if we will have private hives, I hope we do however I also hope that the official hives have a 'cooldown' upon leaving a server, forcing you to wait about 10 minutes before you can join another. Although this may cause some issues for non-cheaters who just want to meet their friends.

OP wasted his time writing a bunch of :emptycan:. I don't KoS unless I feel threatened, but I accept that it is part of the game. That's the brilliance of DayZ, not the zeds, the players, not knowing whether the next person you meet is gonna blow your head off or throw you some beans makes the game much more satisfying.

Tried it, I get 7 DayZ servers, then If I select 'Any Mod' I get an extra 3 servers for DayZ+. Can someone else who is using Commander confirm that these are the only official servers available. I'd like to know if its an issue on my end or not. Thanks.

Ah good point, thanks. I've just changed the filters to search for outdated versions, thing is there are still only 7. I suppose that's to be expected till it goes standalone.
