  1. personally i'd like to be able to land a chopper on the roof of an otherwise unreachable building top, and then be able to rappel down the side of the building, and then use that line to get back up later as well, unless someone else came along, saw my line, climbed it and took my heli.

    would also be a good tactic to rescue people, drop a line so they can climb up on a side of the building that covered from the attackers

    Im always making some efort to hide my heli in the forrest and then run like 800meters for some loot:P

    If i can hide one n the roof of an buiding, that wil spare me some walks:P

    I like the idea to get out of the chopper, but you need to implement this with capable heli's like the MH60S or Huey. The navy heli's have the hawsers on the side.

    A little bird helicopter doenst have these so with these heli's it shouldnt be possible.

    If im correct its also possible to fast rope from a littlebird, from the side steps where you sit on when you sit on the outside. And ofcorse from the hawswers(is this the correct english name?)

  2. Hey there Dayz community,

    I know this is mentiont some where, but there wasnt a topic about i( i could find).

    So what i like to see is Fast-ropping and Rappelling from high buildings, towers, structures and Helicopters.

    To give you an example, When you are on a high Industry structure and under fire from a bandit/enemy sniper.

    What do you do? go all the way down true ladders and stairs as a easy shootingdisc?

    Or you can go to the blind side(for the sniper) of the highbuilding and rappel your self down there and get the hell out of enemy fire range!?

    Second example, when you want to grab and run with your friends and have a heli.

    You can fly to the location(military, supermarket, medic, firestation and etc) hoover on auto-pilot on top of the building or close to drop of point and drop off your buddy's(fast-ropping style).

    While your buddy's go grab and run the pilot keeps an eye out on the erea. When ready, your buddy's come to the drop off or a new pick up point and if needed they yust hook up on the rope. Then you can extract your buddy's out of there and get them on the heli later, when on safe terain.

    And as last, what i personal would like to see is all this combined with my earlyer suggestion.(about diving, caves and underwater vehicles)

    Fast-rope your way down from a helicopter in to the sea, dive to find the underwater entrance from a cave and go to your base(Yust a tent nothing special).

    Maby you want to extract some supply's from camp to friendly clans or yust to your other camp/base. then hook up the invetorycrates on your heli and fly it away to the destination.

    I tried to keep everything short and i afoid to go to much in details, because my english is not so great!

    You can use your own imagination how this all works in the SA Game. (wouldn't this be great in the game;)

  3. You should be able to tow vehicles and most importantly aircraft with the tractor.

    If planes are in DayZ like the An2 then I can't be the only one who has trouble parking it, if tractors could tow then you could land it at the airfields then tow it off to your base. It would also be hands for finding damaged and towing them to base for repairs.

    I don't think a tow truck should be added as it just seems a bit less post-apocalyptic.

    i would like this really much! all those heli's and vehicles that are stuck between wals and trees. now whe can pull them out:D

    Welcome back, how was you trip?

    Awsome i supose.

    And then there's the problem on the graphical end; Arma 2 underwater environment hasn't been graphically designed to look interesting in any way with underwater caves or such. This would require an enormous amount of work from the team to build the underwater environment, whereas in Arma 3, where the swimming and diving was planned almost since from the get-go they put a lot of detail into the underwater.

    That can be true, but the arma 3 dive engine was build by a guy that was moding in arma 2.

    It was tested and developed in A2 before it was planned en put in the A3.

    So if i remember well it wasnt even there(boheimia) idea to put diving in A3 in first instance!

    And if one guy can make it in a couple of months/years, then it should be possible for a whole development team to put this off i a small amount of time.

    Please correct me if im wrong, but im pritty shure about this because i heard the A3 dev team Talk about this in a video.

    that is an obvious disadvantage. but when the map makers are done with whatever they are doing it will be good to make them work with the project if they have the energy.

    And watch closly on 4:27min, If they gonna put the underwater world from A3 in Dayz SA, then there is a big chanse whe are getting our snapping turtle:P

  5. Ive been thinking of the underwater cave base idea for a while now but these other dudes are scary me now with how you say its a "2.5" arma engine and not arma 3 WTF

    sorry dont understand what you mean?

    I don't think underwater bases would be a good idea. It's not really possible to have unless you're like the guys from Sealab 2021 or have a place like Atlantis.

    It wast my idea for a underwaterbases, but underwatercaves( small ones) where you can pitch one tent and maby stand next to it nothing more.

    So nothing to futuristic with underwaterbases like in the movies, but yust a cave where YOU can make a base, with your tent and stuf!

    And the entrance must be underwater, so the cave is like a airbubble and some caves with entrances above water.

  6. now we are getting a bit more advanced here, but in addition you have to adjust how much air you have in your BCD/drysuit because of the air pressure being variable proportional to the depth. this can cause a very dangerous scenario where air in your BDC/drysuit expands faster than you can empty it, causing you to pop straight up to the surface at dangerous speed.

    oh, and seeing as how DayZ is following a strict reality protocol, i expect that if this does get implemented you will get decompression sickness if you do it wrong.

    Sounds really cool to me!

    "Decomprasion chamber" in the big subs maby? for safe and fast climbing to surface level.

    I swear, if it were, it would be the best game of all time.

    It would become my new most favorite of all time game, beating Donkey Kong 64 (I've loved that game to death ever since I bought it when I was 4.)

    Problem herew would be the submairnes i would really say small submarines or large ones but maybe those small motorized things under water like in that movie act of valor had or the showcase in the arma3 or the begining of MDW3 plus the underwater caves i wouldnt mind put a few sand bags or as rocket said its a whole new world under chernarus and would take a diffrent loading time so you could build a proper base plus adding in whole new areas and stuff would need to be optimized to ensure no fps drop

  9. For standalone, it will really suck if it's the same as DayZ now when everybody just shoots on sight. Make it so if you kill somebody your character starts crying or something emotional to help make the player feel bad and for their position to be given away.

    Don't make bandits look bad ass/rough either that will just reward the players to do that more.

  10. i have a possible solution for the compressor problem: there is a chance to find air bottles. these bottles have a randomized capacity and there is a random amount of air in the bottles. you can also get rebreather systems (extremely rare) which uses smaller pure oxygen tanks and the air you breathe in and out. this makes it more realistic to dive for a long time, while still using a reasonable amount of tanks.

    I like the ideas you have guys and up building criticism is never bad bean queen. ;)

    The rebreather is a verry good idea! You can also find a example picture one the links in the topic!(its a navy seal diving gear)

    I thought that the rebreather should be more military loot, so pritty rear from it self! (i know you have it also for civilians!)

    Compresors are also nice idea, but shouldt be a problem right?

    there are still gas/co2/oxy tanks around that still work on manual maganics(not sure im asking you guys)?
