In DayZ commander you can set filter options on: - Wrong version of the game - Wrong version of the mod. After these filters have been applied you can actually join the servers that pop up... then just search for a server with a low ping (you can see it on the far right in DayZ Commander) And also look for a description you like (F.e.: PVP server spawn with sniper) Ping is an Abbreviation of Packet INternet Groper. Functions as a sort of echo to test the speed of the connection. Your computers sends out a signal and measures in time how fast the server receives it, accepts it and sends it back to you. This is measured in MS (miliseconds) if this amount is too high your connections causes lag on the server. Most servers allow a max PING of 350 ms.

I meant functions as in f.e. the inventory / clothing and weapon modification part. Those are actually the things i like the best about it. Tossing in a little quote from the dayzdev tumblr page: "Inventory system Based on feedback and development, changes continue with this area. It’s starting to operate really well. Standalone has much more functions than ArmA 3 will have and thus the mod will have. I'll stick to the SA for sure!

I like the suggestion, this way you can make something completely of your own. Though i do think this requires some heavy mods in the engine and the ingame tools to customize.... Therefore the 'hundreds combinations' of clothes Rocket spoke about in some earlier interviews are implemented.

Could also be that steam ran out of serial keys and just sold you the game. You'll get the key as soon as it gets available (usually a couple of days) Very annoying but i know this happened in the past (like july/august 2012) as well! You can also try to contact Steam.

Due to the quote above it seems like one server! since when you fresh spawn you wouldn't have any gear (except for the gear you get at every spawn). Try a different server or notify the server admin of this problem.

Good! Then some more questions: Have you updated it completely to the last version? Do you have this problem with every server that you try to connect to? Do you have ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead installed? Do you have the right CD-Key for the game? Have you bought the game via Steam? If you can answer: 'Yes' to all of the above, please contact Steam. The "Key Server" is theirs and it checks if the cd-key you have (or not have) is valid. Hope this resolves your problems :D

Even better: Make sure you use DayZ Commander. This program allows you to set filters for wrong mod version and wrong game version. This way you will only get the servers that are the same as your version and you shouldn't have any troubles to connect.

I vote against. Killing zombies/infected for experience or needing their kills for professions/actions of any kind is not realistic in any way. I only kill them when in dire need of food/drinks and no stores are nearby or no loot found in houses... hoping they carry something usefull For the rest. They are just a part of this game....

The Colt 1911 is a much more used and widely known pistol, therefore i assume they've implemented this in the game. The TT33 is a Russian spinoff from this model (as of the 1930's) and therefore may be fit for the setting of the game. To the current day the 1911 (Orignally designed my Mr. Browning, but now used by many different gunmakers) is still being produced and sold as the most popular handgun. Because of the popularity, my vote goes to the 1911.

Remove it completely by using Control panel --> find the software thingy and remove it there. Then re-install. Had the same issue and this worked for me.

And opt ins to hide wrong game versions..... This ensures you get a good server for your version of the game. Then all will be fine...

Yes, we have them in real life. If any outbreak of a disease would happen in real life.... would they (these kind of items) just magically disappear?

I like this idea and for my part its going to be implemented. But please do make it a bit realistic.... F.e. You shouldn't be able to hide an AS50 in an empty coke can.

That explains why i always think im shooting with a silenced gun when using the hatchet :) On Topic: Would be great to be able to handle both. At the moment I always placing my gun at an easy to remember place and take the hatchet if im going into a town. I've experienced more than once that the gun disappears into the ground and I couldn't retrieve it.

Hey All, I dont know if this has been suggested already, but since I couldn't find it I'm creating this topic. What I would like to see in DayZ (in the mod as well as the SA) is to be able to strip vehicles of their usefull parts. For example: you have 2 cars. Car 1 is without wheels. Car 2 without engine Now what if you are able to strip the wheels of car number 2 and place them on car 1 so you have a useful car? Since I usually find loads of crap cars I would love to see this implemented. Since you might have problems that people strip their own vehicles so they cannot be stolen one should only be able to strip useful parts if at least 1 other part is red or not functioning at all. So if you find a perfect Helicopter you shouldnt be able to remove the Main rotor part. Thanks for your consideration! Azziax

@TheSodesa The amount of ignorance in your post is staggering sir! And since you cannot seem to read I quoted myself... and marked the sentence that I would like you to read. Next to that.... it seems like harrassing posts like yours are clogging up the server....

Considering Arma 3 is coming out you can wait for that. Then on the other hand. If you wish to play DayZ you have to wait till its modded for A3. On the StandAlone.... There is no release date. Could be months for it to come... On DayZ as it is now! Brilliant. I started just 1,5 week ago and I find it money well spent. Realy awesome game. But like Orlok said, you can try A2free first.
