    But you can't take part in a community if all you do is shoot people on sight, there there will be no community, so advertising for a murdering bandit is not needed, you just need to make it happen.

    I would not use the word naive noob, but your words not mine. hard for me to judge how many hours you've had from looking at text, sorry if it offended you though. speaking of glitch, i died of one this weekend, tried to climb down a tower on NEAF and instead my charactrer launched into the air and jumped out and landed on the ground below...dead of course. So yeah...that was a little annoying, not because i lost gear, but because i used a lot of time getting there from the far south-west. I met one player there that i aimed at inside the building, but he instantly put his hands in the air and laid down on the ground so i said "hello there" and backed out..but i died of the glitch soon after..so yeah, i know what you are saying. That guy in that house probably was happy though, got a new m4 rifle at a lot of other military grade equipment :) The first character i had in SA, when i was on my way to cherno for some food, i noticed 3 guys in the distance, i just sat down next to a tree and watched, until they just stopped and suddenly all 3 ran my way, i ran like a little bitch and hid in the bushes 50-100m down the hill. damn the adrenaline was pumping haha, love it when this happens. They never found me though, but i heard them looking around. Thank the forest it was a very thick shrub and bush cluster there.

    Great attitude! But remember that this is a game and most people will kill you for your stuff, so sometimes if people cannot be avoided, they need to be shot. I used to think like you do, but then i got killed to many times after helping people so i fell to the dark side, i still try not to shoot people for nothing though, but if a guy with a gun runs into me in a building or so i will need to pull the trigger. My longest survival as a friendly character was about 37 days i think and i played a lot on servers with a lot of people, but i seldom helped anyone, i hid or snuck past most people because i knew that in the moment i started helping i would be shot dead and some a-hole would run away with all my stuff. Unfortuantly, killing is the easiest way to survive, thats why everyone is doing it. Adding a little more zombies and respawning now and people will need to be a little catious, especially now that the zombies are not slowed down inside buildings.

    Not just you, it feels different and because you are probably used to about every other game. Arma/Dayz got it's own thing here, after a while you get used to it. At first when i started playing arma 2 i thought i had low fps, but after measuring the FPS i was certain that was'nt it. The character just does'nt instantly stop when you move around like they do in most other games.
  5. Hmm interesting, i think i stand between these opinions. I kinda agree with you, but the fact that people are more bold in the way they act because there is no consequences of dying other than loosing some gear. And people need to stop seeing bambies as new players that are harmless, most of them are actually just other players who died and will probably kill as soon as they get a weapon. Not saying you should camp the spawns and kill, that shit is not even funny..or it would be for the youngest maybe. What i do like about the roleplay part is that people would make it interesting other than playing crappy music and wiggeling (even though that was hilarious for a while as well) "I will wiggle for you good sir!". I love the fact that people might roleplay, what i hope the most from roleplay is not stopping the KoS or assigning roles, but that people would capture other players and that the other players actually play along instead of getting jacked by pride and logout. So i think a roleplay server could be a good idea, but not with restrictions, but the label "roleplay" should be enough for that kind of people to gather there i think, i know i would, but i would not stop killing a potential threat for that reason, you have a weapon i kill with no warning if you see me, i may order you to put down your weapon if i know you can't see me and i might take your stuff, or sometimes i run around beeing a doctor for people...it depends on what character i have decided to play. Love the idea of RP, but please, no rules, as this guy said, the essence of the game is well....no rules :)

    Hmm im starting to see how boring people are in this game, no interaction, just shooting for no good reason. Should be some kind of steam player statistic so others can downrate other players to the point where their assholeness makes it nearly impossible to enter servers that require a good player rating. Fuck shooting skills and welcome people with social intelligence, let's have people that does'nt suffer from anti-social personality disorder. Beeing an asshole player should have consequences. Im all for killing in DayZ, i don't even mind some KoS, but this is just pathetic.

    Woah, i know how you feel, i almost exclusevly play during night because it is more exciting..the thought of someone who might see you when you run around with your flashlight. This is why i play Dayz, if the only thing you could aim for in this game was shooting other players, i would not play it, for that kind of action i play arma 3 or battlefield 4. Good story!

    Yes, also if you had to charge your attacks for more damage, meaning you could just one shot a zombie with any melee weapon given enough power. And some weapons would be faster than others etc. They could just as easily use the system from Wotr and Wotv. The melee system in wotv is awsome apart from some of the strange hitboxes.I played M&B for years and WotV was the first game after that that made melee satisfactory..all other games just did'nt cut it for me. But i digress, anyways more melee combat in this game would be awsome, im not gonna complaining to much, because Dayz SA's melee system is far better than the mod!

    I agree, some more interaction would be appriciated from other players regardless. At least the kill would be funny if it was some sort of interaction..apart from those "just shit my pants" kills where players just get startled and as a reaction pulls the trigger.

    Awww was it really that bad? :( - But I appreciate you liked the part where the bandits get killed ^^ Nah man, did'nt mean it that way. i enjoied the story. I just said that even if it was something you spunup it was still good for a read :)

    Lol, yeah, it's very "easy" to not get attatched to your gear, one thing is to die and not get it back another is to think about the snotty little brat who shot you and is probably now wearing your gear. So telling people to not get attatched is like telling people to quit smoking in 2 seconds. I learned that ignoring high end loot is the best way to go, do not pick it up, destroy it so no one else gets it, even hunt it and destroy it. Then keep to bad guns and melee weapons, if you die then it's like okay, i'll start again then. If you get military hardware you are likely to become a combatlogger and utterly paranoid. So rule number 1 stands true, but it is hard to follow, and those who somehow magically don't get attatched to military awsome gear, they are not human. #5 Do not hoard loot you do not want anyone else to have, destroy it. (put it on a dead zombie or player and "hide body") This rule works for me, makes the chance of someone else picking up a weapon to be used on me less in my proximity, though i never hide water and food, just ammo and weapons, i ignore melee weapons, if someone can get close to me and kill me melee, i deserved it.

    And playing on the public one and jump between servers while standing in a military area is not? Maybe not as safe, but sure as hell just as easy, if not easier.

    I had the same problem yesterday, except i could see all servers in history, friends and favorites. The internet tab did not show any until suddenly after a few hours of trying. The main problem now is that we need more servers running, it was very difficult to get server spots for all my friends, it's no fun playing alone against all those aggressive gankers!

    Off-topic: Love the fact that developers take their time to write in the forums even though it might end up with a mass of PM's, you don't see that everywhere! Are you sure that the people crying is the same people that were eager to see the game released early? Do not sell people short that fast. :) If the same people cry for early release and then starts getting mad about troubleshooting and bugs, then they obviously lack a standard social perk called "beeing reflected". I must say that im more satisfied with this standalone version in early access than i am with the mod, i do write down possible bugs i encounter that seems a little gamebreaking.

    Just remember that use "Set to default" after you made your character and you should have the new apparance when your current character dies. (source: Tested myself.)

    Not sure if that unconcious thing is a bug, i managed to stay concious if i ate and kept hydrating myself a lot, but i feel that hunger and thirst is a little off maybe? Now i have not been without food and water for prolonged times since i was in the army, but im pretty sure one should last a little longer..and it's also a game, so keeping it close to realistic is ok, but in my opinion it should not be such a drag that it ruins the experience for people, but that is my opinion against others. Lights still go through walls and that is a little annoying, but this could also be the game engine and how it handles lights, i know from beeing a long time elder scrolls modder that this have been a problem there for as long as i can remember until you could use dynamic shadow lights in skyrim.(which still went through walls in some situations) Im just saying that i have seen that in many game engines. Though it seems to go through the split of the meshes used and not through a solid wall mesh meaning that light often goes through on the ground where the floor and wall meets..i guess one can try to stitch the vertecies, but that would require a massive undertaking of re-uvmapping and i do not wish that on my worst enemies let alone developers that i like! That beeing said, i do not know if that is the cause of this issue at all. I also noticed that light shine through some roofs (source: watching a guy from about 300m range searching a house with his torch.) As for the torches, i also noticed that i could not get my torch working, but then i noticed that it had the state "ruined" so when i found a dead player a few minutes later i took his torch and it worked just fine. I also noticed some loot that could not be looted despite having enough inventory space. Im not sure if it is a bug or feature, but it seems that you do not get a loot promt if your inventory is full as well. Can also confirm the fact that the axe is held the a little wrong, it points 90 degrees to the right when it should be aimed straight forward? Not sure if this was intended or not. Not something that bothers me badly however. also have a case of floor swimming zombies, but i guess this is taken under the bug that explains zombies walking through walls etc.

    Still no reason to remove it, servers that want to have it off can do so while others do as they wish, if you keep removing functions you loose player base as well, im not saying you want 9 year olds to play on servers with ponies and flowerhrowers (yes pyro TF2 reference) But im saying that giving the players a choice on the matter will have you better feedback. Look at BF 3, there is no way in hell i will play on normal servers, if my friends want me to play on normal servers i refuse, simply because i think those servers give little challenge when you can see someone at the other side of the map by pressing "Q" where ever you go, regardless of my opinion on the matter the servers excist, i hate them, i avoid them, problem solved.

That may be, i have'nt tried it on players, but the damage on the wiki says 3555 and that did'nt seem like a lot, also the wiki says nothing about making players unceonscious in 1 shot, i never tried because i did'nt want to waste ammo and get shot in the face for a failed murder attempt, and i never fire unless fired upon, so i guess testing is difficult.
