Haven't played it in months because it became stale, I'm not excited for the standalone either, just looks like any of the other dayz mods.

I recently installed the steam version of arma 2 combined operations, also on my system at the time is the retail non steam copy of combined operation, the reason for having both on the pc is due to the very poor internet speed that i have in my area, i bought my laptop that i currently play dayz on to a friends house in order to download combined operations for my brother, who uses a desktop. Since i downloaded the steam version of CO i have been unable to play my retail copy of the game. I have tried multiple fixes non of which have yielded any progress, is there any fix for this or will i have to buy a new copy of arma 2 CO?

I have waited waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to long to reply to this but reinstalling the game immediately fixed the problem, cheers helios. :)

Will deleting the game on steam prevent it from overwriting the registry?

I will give this a try, will get back to you when its done, should i delete the steam copy of the game prior to the reinstall?

It is stating that i do not have it installed, and i cannot locate the arma2oa.exe that isnt in the beta folder. EDIT: Located the file, this did not fix the error.

Dayz Commander, it is not just Dayz i cannot start the game using an arma 2 launcher or sixcommander i have set it to launch from the non steam version on each of these.

Thinking of building a new rig on a less than £1000 budget, these are the specs for it currently, it costs £850 to build this machine and I'm wondering what kind of frame rate to expect? I would rather that the flies are removed entirely when a person is shot, rather they appear after the body has been present a certain length of time. There should be no way to fully remove a body from the map until a server restart, realistically digging a hole big enough to fit a human body in its entirety would take at least 15 minutes obviously this is not really feasible, so maybe a loner can only partially bury the body which would take roughly one minute, and can stop the animation at any time. I think that you should be able to kick dirt or grass over the body or in order to hide it but another player with a shovel/entrenching tool is capable of uncovering it. Maybe if a group of players hide a body it will be buried or something but the disturbed ground can be spotted and the body can be uncovered by a determined loner or a group. Of course I agree with the suggestion and believe that dragging should be implemented, insect repellent could decrease the rate of decay and delay the time it takes for the flies to begin to move around the body. Just my 2 cents.

This has been done to death in literally dozens of other posts, it is also unlikely that this would be feasible on the arma engine as more zombies equals more ram usage and more ram usage equals worse fps and the like. Even in shows like the walking dead zombies are only even a threat when A, they are in huge numbers or B they catch the characters off guard, even then they would be no threat if Rick and the gang where all immune to the virus. In a game like Day Z where immunity is a key factor of the gameplay the slow zombies are just not feasible, as there would need to be literally hundreds roaming the streets to pose any significant threat to the immune survivor. -
