Beans for bravery :P I am afraid of day more, those .50 cal snipers are harmless at night. Also, I have only once died at NWAF, while as a fresh spawn I have been rap*d with sniper rounds countless times. So night = less sniping. Also, I had an awesome hatchet fight at NWAF with a random guy in total darkness. We just kept swinging blind and laughing hysterically via proximity voice. In the end we decided to call it a day and logged, neither of us harmed. So night is good. Just can't see shit, at all, like literally ZERO, whole non-sky area is totally black for me.

Not log on a different public hive server where there is day / full moon at the moment? As far as I know, playing at night servers without NVG during total night conditions is plain useless, you can just as well turn off your monitor. That's how you are having fun? Pretty hardcore man ;)

This topic has just made me rethink my planned purchase of a 4+ ghz i7 rig... I'm using an old Toshiba Satellite with Radeon 4650, and I am getting 10-15 FPS in Cherno, and 30-40 in countryside. Would be a major disappointment to discover that a costly purchase makes almost no difference though. I have spent WEEKS trying to figure out why I get low fps in DayZ. Crysis, Crysis 2 work fine on medium settings... One thing I can hint: Zombie AI is a major FPS killer. I loaded a Bliss server AND DayZ simultaneously on my Satellite, but dropped the DayZ zombie count to 10 max local. It still allowed me to get a lot of tension from zombie aggro, while keeping steady 30 FPS in Cherno all the time... Maybe zombie AI is not optimised, maybe Zombie pathfinding in tight areas consume such a lot of processing power, that it kills the experience. Regardless, it got better when I launched DayZ with dual core support and maxthreads modified. There are lists of launch attributes you can find online, that allow Arma2 to use multicore architecture better. Just lose thoughts.

Changing from civilian clothes to camo suit, while holding a hatchet, removes all hatchet ammo and since it's no longer possible to reload the hatchet, it needs to be removed from primary weapon slot and placed there again to restore ammo.

Hi there! I'm quite new, mostly playing in the evenings GMT+1. Got myself geared up, M4 silenced, m9 silenced, large backpack... however after the recent patch I find it really difficult to find any public servers that would allow me to play. I am using DayZCommander and after filtering the 6k+ server list for a current Arma2 version + latest DayZ patch, only a couple servers pop up... and it's mostly night there when I have time to play And even then, those servers seem not to spawn heli crash sites. Question: is there any Grand List of Official Servers, where everything is updated and loot/heli spawns work as intended? Best regards, Hal.
