I can only change the UI scale when the graphics are set on the legacy UI. When I do this it changes but then resets after i reload the game. I don't see this option when I have the new ui up.

Is it possible to change the UI size or aspect ratio whiel you have the new ui activated. I can't currently see the status indicators. I am running on a 24 inch monitor at 1080p. Thanks!

What counts as unmanipulated loot? Is this chopper crash loot and loot on players bodies that drops in addition to regular loot at loot spawns? When i was watching wobo's video, he stated he had checked a house hours later and the same loot had been there because it hadn't been removed from its original spawn. I have also noted this to be the case.

Awesome thanks for the quick reply. Any idea about what "forced persistence means and if admins or GSP's can turn it off?
-
I am curious as to the persistence/loot state of all public servers right now. Some servers say persistence off, some on, and some say high loot, mega loot etc. From what I read, servers can't modify the loot, and persistence is forced on as of .56. Is this correct or am I missing something? Thanks in advance -Writhe

You can find a server that is closer to vanilla, also give day zero a try the community just needs a little boost.

lets revive some good old dayz!!

The purpose of the post is to get more people to play on a server group thats population has recently dwindled on a mod I found the most fun. I am merely trying to get people over there to have some more fun. I'm sure BMRF doesn't mind getting extra attention, but I applaud any private hosting clan/server admin etc who runs a DEDICATED server and provides a good gaming experience. no those shitty dayz.st servers who have ruined dayz with pay to win bullshit, its not dayz.st's fault directly but when they give you really easy and cheap access to be an admin, more assholes will make servers. Also, a lot of people are frusturated by crappy servers, and if I can find out about better servers or help others find they niche they want to play in, so be it. -
I am trying to find and get more people to play with me, but in the mean time I will look into the regular mod and other servers. However I am skeptical about dayz.st servers because in the past they were shitty, and laggy. I feel this is because they are a very cheap hoster that gives the admins a lot of tools to do whatever they want, and really fosters a crappy pay to win community. So are these servers still like this, and if so any suggestions for what i should join?
-
Hey guys, I dont post here much but basically I hate pay to win servers, want a good solid dayz experience and like high end clan battles etc. Recently I started playing day zero on bmrf and it was the best experience of dayz i ever had. I am not affiliated with them (you can check on their website), but i really think if people are looking for a solid, non laggy playing experience they should come give this a try. I think this post might be moved but whatever. I would like to get various groups together to either work together or have fights, but lets revive some dayz!
-
Yes this is sad, I think this has mainly to summer ending, other games coming out and casuals who want to pay 2 win. I just found out about day zero about a month and a half ago and started playing on 1st person only servers. It was the best experience of my dayz career. Unfortunately a lot of hackers were kicked off and with school started the population started fizzling. If anyone is interested on joining me in BMRF let me know via private message or respsonding to this post so we can start up a community again. Keep in mind im only going to really consider playing on 1st person only hardcore servers, its the only way to play for me now.

Anyone interested in going back to 1.7.6.1?

Also, do you guys seem to realize how all standard dayz mod servers have seemed to die? Normally you would see at least 5-10 servers with 30+ people, that is hardly the case now. -
Dayz.st, vilayer, hfb servers, etc etc etc
Writhe (DayZ) replied to Writhe (DayZ)'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Sounds good, I will give hfb and vilayer another chance, i kind of just clumped them in with dayz.st -

Yea I have tried day zero and over watch, day zero being my favorite besides getting newer friends into the game because of the game being on expert (map markers) but I still want to be able to play standard dayz, not a game with a bunch of added guns and sounds. But gameplay wise, these mods are a step in the right direction, but they seem to be a few patches back. -

Yea, i understand how if they scratched you, you most likely would be infected this would be cool if implemented correctly, but what I am saying is that the game is too buggy to allow this to happen properly. Due to lag, desync, weird/buggy animations and zombies teleporting through walls, it makes the infections really really annoying. If i do get hit, I feel i don't deserve to get hit half the time. Now if i trap myself in a house thats my problem. I rather play where I have these infected humans trying to "beat me up" thereore damaging my 12k health pool when they punch or hit me, rather than teleporting/lunging zombies applying some mystical DOT when they seem to get close. They are trying to make this a proper game through horrible game mechanics, when the zombies have reached a point where they simply can't be made any harder without building a new engine that allows for a more fluid melee combat system. -

Rainbow Bandit, this is essentially what i was trying to get across but I guess it came out in the wrong way. For veterans of the game, or at least people who had payed pre patch 1.7.6.1. understood how to get away from zombies, they pretty much became no threat after you learned how to lose them through buildings and or crouch right past them. At first zombies seemed like a huge deal, but the game just had a big learning curve. I think people complained and wanted zombies to be something from zombies out of the walking dead, now the game has tried its best to emulate zombies that are very very deadly but because of the limitations of arma 2 being a military simulator this simply doesnt work. A "proper" zombie game would have zombies that scratch or bite you and then you are dead, similar to how it works in the walking dead universe, but in dayz i like to think of them as crazy resurrected people are are trying to beat you to death, so it makes more sense when they get a few hits on you and your health gets chipped away. Yes i think it should be possible to get an infection say if they cut you up and go your wounds dirty, etc but honestly it wouldn't happen every time you fight with a zombie. It's almost like they dont have a good way to actually make zombies hard, so they try to emulate it the best way possible through a dice toss, which isn't realistic at all. Also Rainbow Bandit check your messages.
