Okay, so, say for example; I rent a private hive. I can set it up how I want it, and it won't run from my computer/internet?

Hey guys, I'm new to the DayZ Forums (not the game), and am considering renting a server. I've found a place to rent them from, so that's fine. I'm just unsure as to what the difference is between a normal server and a private hive? A private hive definitely seems the way to go, but I'm not sure if it runs off of my computer (?) or something else, just curious 'cause "Private" got me thinking... Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Gynsu.
