Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?
tripmo replied to Pokerguy12's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
ACE2 mod is an add on for Arma2. It will add realistic features. Like for sniping for example: Adds wind speed, bullet drop is more realistic, depending which ammo and rifle / barrel you use. I know V3C1C said it already, but this is shorter and maybe easier to understand regarding sniping in Arma2 with ACE2 mod -
Will Snipers Be Removed Or At Least Tweaked In S.A?

Short version: I want DayZ SA to have ACE mod added, ty -
Played Dayz in nightmode, during night, lights off. Only using flashlight. Was not that scared Most scary game I ever played, during night, lights off is F.E.A.R. 2. Nothing can beat that scaryness of that game On topic I like the idea of those cabins :)

An-2, Introduced a couple patches ago, ne one found a legit one?
tripmo replied to theneonirvana's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
an-2 plane I never seen in DayZ. I play a lot Wasteland mod tho, I find very often an-2 planes there (Bi Planes we call them). They are easy to fly, landing takes skills tho (People on Wasteland server I always play consider me a pro pilot of that plane). The plane is kinda slow tho. Not much power. This means you can get stalled very fast, also auto landing IGNORE it ever if you have one. That will kill you :) SU-25 I flew on normal Arma2. Things are fast and deadly. an-2 plane can only be used too scout btw. -
What's up with people wanting to find No PvP servers?
tripmo replied to recklesspanz's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Everyone that replies, can you stop being total asses? I can understand people hate the KOS scenario that is mostly active on all DayZ servers. If people wanna play PVE only, I can understand that and I hope they find a server that suites them 1 day. Also some people are mistaken about PVE servers. PVE is not a server where you are alone and others players aren't there. PVE means fighting (COOP) together against AI controlled enemies (Zombies that is) -
DayZ is dying because the lack of the end game I guess. To much PVB (player vs bandit). I prefer normal Arma2, gives me more satisfaction then Dayz. Waiting for SA but doubt it will beat my Wasteland experience :)

Hello everyone, Today I asked my wife what is difference between an axe and a hatchet (I didn't know because I am not a native English speaker). She googled it up for me (I was driving) She said a hatchet is a small axe that is single hand wielded, an Axe is a 2 hand wielded Axe. Ingame our character has a BIG AXE, and he holds and using 2 hands to slice zombies with it, so shouldn't it be called Axe ingame and not hatchet?

Hatchet ingame is not a Hatchet but an Axe
tripmo replied to tripmo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Wow that would be awesome if you could mount a pitchfork on the front of your car, then run over zombies, so the zombies get spiked by the pitchfork, you keep driving around with a zombie stuck on front of your car, sounds a lot like Carmageddon or was it the other game Quarantine Quarantine (1994 you are a cab driver in the future, with mounted guns, chainsaws etc on a cab) Carmageddon (1997, racing game, where your goal is to win, but you can run over anything ingame) https://www.youtube....h?v=h2S6Jv-_ClI Good old times, no stupid media stopping games because they were to violent -
Dear dev team and mod team, I apologize for what this community has done to you.

Oh sorry misunderstood *hides under the desk* -
Hatchet ingame is not a Hatchet but an Axe
tripmo replied to tripmo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agree, but calling something a Hatchet (single handed Axe) but it is an axe actually is wrong. I think DayZ should fix this wrong named item. We don't call an AS50 an M4A1 do we ;) (just an example) -
Worse, unless you get on whitelisted servers. I moved out as well, goodbye DayZ welcome Wasteland :)

People don't give really helpful replies, so I will do that. I once was on a server, I was in Elektro and a few minutes later, there were no zombies in Elektro anywhere. I was like wow I can loot a lot now. So I went on an insane loot run, then went to Cherno also no zombies. I found it kinda weird. I asked on the server I was playing on if others encountered any zombies. They all replied no. Then 2 minutes later when I was in Cherno hospital, I turn around a girl with a big AS50 shot me, then I get bandaged, then I break my legs, then I see 5 other people together with the girl that shot me, they go glitch me or something, I remain laying on the ground and she pushing me around with her legs. This kept going on for 10min, I was talking to them they were hackers, they told me the removed all zombies. Then they spawned a AS50 and they said to me pick it up, I did get shot, dead. So when I came back to life I ask the hackers (I got their names when they were trolling around with me) to pick me up. They did. I was going to troll those hackers. After they picked me up, we hang around 5min or so. Then 1 hacker said BRB picking up a friend, he drove off 50m and his car was invisible. Then 3min later I hear a car, but don't see one. 10m away from me the car comes visible, they get out. I steal the car and drive off. I short, hackers can remove zombies it seems. :/

Correct, if you want to run Dayz from your computer, you gotta have a very very good computer and you can only run it as dedicated, so you would not be able to play and host a server. Most people rent servers from host websites. Hint they ain't coming cheap Here is 1 Dayz server hoster out of my head http://www.dayz.st/

is dayz 100% PvP on the long term?
tripmo replied to _Anubis_ (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Agree on this totally. That is after when I found out I went moved on. Dayz seems not being finished yet. Sure PVP is here but ArmaII does make the PVP more challenging :) Wait for SA hope that will change everything, in the mean time you can sometimes jump on Dayz play until you get bored of it and go to another game :) -
(WARNING: This is a big wall of text sorry for that, this is my experience and thoughts how I would love to say Dayz in the future, if you don't agree with this that is your opinion, please try to keep this clean from trolling <- this will not happen :) ) Hello All, I never bothered to make an account for the forums, but I finally did. When I heard so much good news about DayZ I bought ArmaII CO just for Dayz. First experience: I entered a server. I loved the scary feeling I got at dark together with the zombies. I didn't know where to do what, but that is what every bambi experienced. I never played ArmaII before so this whole game was new to me. I remember how I got my first rifle, start firing at zombies, boy I regret that zombies coming from eveywhere I died few minutes later. After playing a couple of weeks: I know which buildings you can enter and which building you cannot, I know the biggest fear for a survivor are not the zombies but the other players. I know where to find all the items, like hatchet, gps, nvg, good weapons, matches etc. The things need to survive you could say :). The shoot on sight of other players I kinda understand as well, the people are to lazy to go look for their own loot, and they love the kill counts I guess. End game: DayZ is a not finished game, I am currently not playing Dayz and waiting for the SA. The end game of Dayz as it is now, is PVP, that is it. Killing other players / teams, steal their loot, vehicles, raid camps, and build your own camps. - I once mentioned to friends of mine. I was kinda getting boring in Dayz. You go look for loot to survive, get a good weapon (maybe kill a bandit to steal a nice AS50 or whatever), then go raid camps or attack bandits that are trolling the new players. That is it. I said to my friend, I was looking into Dayz Servers where donators get a custom load out of choice (depending what amount you pay of course). They asked why this kill the whole Dayz thought. I kinda agree but I kinda got bored of looking for 2 hours for good loot, then go in PVP mode with other players. Then after some nice battles I end up dead, and have to start over look for the items I prefer to have again. It's like getting resetted all the time, which kinda annoyied me, I know how to look for items, where to look. Then there is PVP in the end that is it. So my friends (Those I met in Dayz) said did you try out the normal ArmaII, I think you should look into that. Wasteland mod sounds perfect for you. So as they suggested I did. Now I am playing Wasteland Mod for Arma2 for little bit more then 1 month, and I sadly never looked back to Dayz. I keep checking Dayz blog about updated of the SA but that is about it. The zombies are boring (easy to go around then, even with 1.7.5.1), end of the game is PVP based only. Community ingame is very hard, First rule trust no one. Which I still gotta get used to in the Wasteland mod. Yesterday in wasteland I loaded up my humvee with a lot of weapons to sell, so I could get myself a rangefinder, sniper, rocketlauncher from the weapon store. There were teammates camping the gunstore (to kill enemies that came close), I asked my teammates if they could leave for 3min so I could unload my humvee with the weapons, and sell them. They left standing 100m away from me, while I was unloading my humvee selling the weapons. Someone in side chat (team chat) said: tripmo you could just drive to the gunstore unload your humvee, teammates will not steal your humvee with the weapons and then sell them. Or kill you steal your stuff and sell your items. I said sorry this must be something I got from Dayz. Then he laughed yeah must be. Why I wrote the part about this wasteland mod, is to show you an example. What I kinda find disappointing in Dayz is, the first rule is: Trust no one. I can understand people wanna be the baddies in game (bandits), dont hesitate to kill you to get your stuff, and then you gotta start over. In wasteland or ArmaII overall, people that are in your team help you out. Work as a team. Dayz if you have no friends ingame or friends playing this game, this game will get bored very fast. Making friends ingame in Dayz is kinda hard as well sometimes. What Dean Hall should implent is something what Wasterland mod has. In Wasteland mod you have 3 teams, Blufor, Opfor, Indepentent (Indepentent are like Bandits here in Dayz) If you are in Blufor or Opfor you are not allowed to kill any teammates, it is against the rules, Indepentents is free for all, so no rules you can team up with your friends make a group (groups can also be made in Blufor and Opfor but still the rules go you are not allowed to kill teammates, indepentent that rule doesn't exist). If you teamkill twice you will be moved to Indepentent for the rest of the time you play on the server, until the server resets) You can recognize your teammates because they have a square above their player (Blufor has a blue square, Opfor has a red square, Indepentent has nothing). So when you are in Blufor those with a blue square are your teammates, the players with no squares are enemies (opfor and indepentent), visa versa I think Dayz should use some sort of system like this, but now you have the survivor team, and bandits team. This means Survivor team will have markers above their head and you are not allowed to teamkill, if someone teamkills twice they will be moved to the bandit team, and you will remain bandit the rest of the time on that server. Because Dayz servers keep records of your stats loadout, actions this means the player that teamkilled can never go survivor anymore on that certain server. Hard rule I know, but hey if you kill someone in real life you gotta life with the cons as well (jail time, maybe even death sentence). I think this rule above would please a lot of players, bandits still can have their baddie additude, group with friends and kill everyone that comes in their way, loot survivors etc, and the honest people (survivors can see who are trustful, helpful and maybe become friends ingame). The humanity function ingame is flawed, yes if you heal many people you become a hero (hero skin), but I met so many hero skin players, that shoot on sight which is sad. I hope Dayz SA will become awesome, and I hope the community will change with it, I don't like the trust no one rule in Dayz, seems like people in ArmaII (+ additional mods) are much nicer then the overall players in Dayz.

My experience in DayZ and the progress of it
tripmo replied to tripmo's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I only think the recognize which player is a friendly or a trustful player is flawed. For the record I don't go around murdering people for nothing. I only shoot people that shoot me first or have a bandit skin, but you cannot recognize if a new player is trustful or not. The option about forced teams helps the new players to create friends I think. I have friends ingame I played Dayz with, and that worked well, but I remember when I was new to the game, and I had no friends it was very hard to know who can be trusted or not. My friends still play dayz, but I went over to Wasteland because the end game of Dayz is PVP mostly, and I think the PVP system in Wasteland overrules the Dayz at the moment. (Base building, missions, etc) I started with no friends in Wasteland got many now, but the forced teams make it easier for the new players to make friends, etc. I think Dayz could get that sorted out little better, that is all.
