I can imagine having a farm underground (clan base). Just with some plants and bright lights above them. You would be able to add more plants of different sorts depending on what you want and how much you need.

Petition for Mountain Dew on SA Game
Rutch replied to armedtoe (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
There was a topic like this about the beans. Rocket replied that he had asked the real life companies on the cans for permission, some didn't even reply and others said no. -
Why would you want to be running and shooting? You wouldn't hit shit.
-
This is a really nice idea, but it would take some time to implement it. And surely wouldn't be available the moment SA releases. Also, it should be possible when the helicopter and the players have the right gear.

Shooting out of the passenger seats of vehicles
Rutch replied to KA4LxTITANx's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
To me one of the most important reason is that it'll make cars something else than a fast moving death trap. If you are in a car with a group, there is 1 guy outside of the car and you can't run him over, you're basically screwed. You and your mates getting out first need to get this animation before being able to pull your gun on him. And if you stay in the car he can shoot you up with 1 mag. Adding the possibility of shooting out of cars will at least make cars less vulnerable(because they shouldn't). You should be able to enter a town with a vehicle in relative safety instead of having to be extremely careful and park it 200m away. You shouldn't be able to no scope headshot every zed and player out there, while in a vehicle. But I bet if you have a rifle, are sticking out of the car window/aiming your gun outside the window and you see a player 20m away. You''ll be able to suppress him or even hit him a couple of times if you empty a full mag. And that's what it's mainly about, instead of being a free target because the vehicle can't defend itself, you'll have to take cover when you hear a vehicle coming down your street. Players in the vehicle, and the vehicle itself are extremely vulnerable, let them at least fend off for themselves. -
As long as there will only be first person/the player cannot see anything while doing it. I call bullshit if you guys thought about faking a death and looking 360 degrees around you whether you're save or not. If this gets implemented you either 1. Can't see anything because your face is in the dirt 2. Can't see because you'll probably close your eyes if you try to fake death? People should only use this as a last resort, and should be in fear of getting shot/backstabbed/dieing when doing so, meaning you can't see anything/barely anything.

It may be just me but: Thinking of the idea of being able to anchor it in the middle of the sea, basically as a base, would be extremely cool. You could put other boats next to it, vehicles and storage on it. There are enough spots where vehicles could board/disembark (The piers @ balota etc, but probably also just the beach). Since they will be adding more different kinds of housing/storage (Underground bases), why not make it possible to do such a thing on the sea?

The cool thing about the map linked above would be that the bridges now will actually become important chokepoints for getting to other areas. People could camp there, you would really have to be careful when crossing one.

Dayz SA only 150 People allowed in Open alpha? is it true?
Rutch replied to NozRee's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
In my opinion it'd be rather wise(at least, far from stupid) to grant youtubers/streamers early access. Considering they will be the ones posting videos, which a lot of people will see. While the average 'I want to play Dayz NOW!' player will just keep it to himself mostly (And even if they'd want to share it, they don't have thousands of subscribers). -
Actually The AMD Phenom x4 is a very good value/price CPU. If you get an AMD cpu, get an AMD Athlon or Phenom. But I agree, their new CPU's aren't that good. But I bet one of the above, especially a nicely overclocked Phenom, can handle Arma 3. It's more dependant on the graphics card. I myself use an HD7950, which is a very nice card. (Though it did cost me 270 euros, which 350 dollars or so?) You might as well just get 8 GB RAM instead of 6, since RAM doesn't cost shit.

In my opinion, it isn't worth the time and money investment. Considering you will be getting 30 fps, which you will notice and (in my opinion) is quite annoying. If you'll be paying 550 bucks for a rather crappy computer, why not save up a bit longer and get that sweet pc that can do 60 fps in most environments and games?

Free DayZ StandAlone TeamSpeak @ 37.187.195.75 - ZombieWorld.eu -- SA Server is up !!!

Whoops it appears I made a typo... This is my GUID: 8a78448ab5e59b55f720cadce056f437 It'd be sweet if you perhaps could edit it or so. :) -
It's possible to tow vehicles in real life, so why is it suddenly stupid in Dayz? They'd have to nerf it extremely though. The towing in wasteland mod is and looks stupid, it should actually be towed, not nailed to your car. Towed vehicles should also have an hitbox, so driving while having a vehicle towed to you will be harder.

how to handle property - the issue when being offline
Rutch replied to joe_mcentire's topic in Suggestions
In EVE Online (yes a little far fetched, as that's in space but hell), POS(Player Owned Structures) are captured using a system like this: A structure has 1000 "fuel" and 1000 HP When another group attacks the structure and drops the health to zero(or stops at 1), the structure goes into reinforced mode. Meaning it is impossible to interact with it(You can't use any of the structure's things). It will also start consuming fuel, once the structure is out of fuel it will unlock, meaning the attackers have succeeded and can now capture the structure. The rate at which fuel is consumed could be changed to rocket's/the community's liking. The only way to regain control of the structure's attributes, perks, entry etc is by repairing it to 100%(Or perhaps 70%) HP. Now, since Dayz is non-sci fi, the idea should be a little bit changed: A base may have at max 1000 points. Players may raise or lower the amount of points a base has, depending whether he wants to keep the base or take it! A player attempting to lower or raise the points will do an animation taking a couple of seconds, and when that is finished it will drain/raise the points by 10(Subject to change) When the base reaches 0 points it will unlock, and the base will be capturable by other groups. Meaning your base is always secure untill you leave for such a long period that a group of people can drain it to 0 points. And if you log in noticing someone has attempted to lower the points, you and your group will have to put effort in raising the points again. In my opinion this gives large groups the advantage they deserve, a larger group would also raid a base better etc, yet it still gives alot of protection. -

- Name Rutch - Location The Netherlands! :) - GUID 8a78448ab5e69b55f720cadce056f437 - Brief statement explaining why you wish to play on UK#10 I'd like to join UK#10 because I want to join a hacker free, reliable server. I am an administrator for another server which is 24/7 daylight en on normal mode, I want to get a bit back to the veteran night-time exploring and the danger! >:) And seeing how well organised this all is, I have high hopes! Best regards, Rutch  -
In my opinion the only drawback of building a base in the open (not underground/ easily detectable) is: You can't defend it 24/7. Like you'll be playing for a few hours with your nice lamps lighting the whole place up, but when you log out and someone else who just drops by will easily see it, steal your stuff, and take your nice lamps with him. :) Unless Rocket adds walls and gates that take alot of effort and time to break into, having an extremely obvious base somewhere is just a big drawback with maybe a few minor advantages. In the mod, if you want to keep your stuff (in tents), you have to hide it. I hope there will be some sort of underground base system at the SA release, with more secure and less detectable entrances perhaps. Because in my opinion the forests in Chernarus barely give any coverage for your buildings/tent, maybe a bit of coverage against helicopters, but anyone walking through a forest and paying some attention to his surroundings can easily spot a tent. And if he doesn't, it's because the owner of the tent used the terrain really well. Rutch
