This is exactly how I'm playing ATM with no issues. Commander just says that DayZ is corrupt as it's on the Ramdisk along with the heavy Chernarus data. BTW, I think you can't create a hard link on FAT partitions so the ramdisk must be started uncompressed and then partitioned to NTFS in Disk Manager.

That's basically cheating and isn't enabled on all servers. Most don't tell your location, but some don't allow waypoints either. You'd better learn to use the map in a legitimate way.

Do you think the zeds are good knocking you out in a single hit? I was approaching a helicrash today and pulled out my makarov to shoot a zed running towards me, but this bastard one-hit-knocks me instead. I had no way of killing him on first shot as the zed had a helmet. In my opinion there must be another way to make the zeds more dangerous. They already give you effectively away for PvP. What is your opinion?

So that one server doesn't work? Maybe an unintended glitch has made something to your data in the hive. It's difficult to solve any server-related problems.

I'd like to ask a few basic questions to make helping easier: - Have you started ARMA 2 and OA at least once before trying to play DayZ (this must be done)? - How does Arma 2 run on your computer? - Have you ever been able to join servers? - Did you install Dayz through DayZ Commander (if not, get it now!) and is your Arma 2 patch up to date there? - Does the application detect your DayZ and Arma? Assuming you're new here, be sure the server is running the same versions of DayZ and Arma 2 as you are.

Short guide to DayZ: Try to sneak around zeds (zombies) When sneak fails, run through a building, forest or a hill and make zeds walk Avoid open areas and other places players will spot you easily in. And most importantly remember that anyone can see if you're in a town as the zeds only spawn near players. Zeds will never end. They will keep spawning. Just let them be unless you really have to kill them. Best starter gear is in big cities, but those areas are also bandit zones. Always check the area for zeds first. (as said above, if you see zeds far away they have spawned off another player) Up northwest is the bandit and military class gear, but there isn't as much basic loot to survive with. Northwest airfield is a common pvp zone with good military spawns in the barracks, but the best guns are at heli crash sites. Those are located on random flat areas up north, and respawn in different places at server restarts

A primary is 10 slots, a secondary is 5 3. a. Anywhere you want, but I'd recommend some safe place in a forest. b. it's open to anyone, but only you can pack it on your current life c. yes! d. yes, but be sure to empty it first e. Vehicles can't be put in tents4. You must find a GPS first. It's rare military loot. 5.It should stay, but it might glitch and break, or just respawn. It should be there for seven days if you don't touch it. Be sure to hide it so other players don't steal it! Your tents and vehicles are only found on the server you had them on.

That's the best loot map available. The map is pretty much accurate. Kopyto (near Prigorodki) is a great place to check for choppers if you're still on coast (two chopper spawns and parts are easily gotten from Cherno)
