It's a pretty good size for a dual-monitor wallpaper though. Thanks. :)
-
Any chance of producing a higher resolution version for wallpaper use?
-
That one would be beautiful wallpaper stock, except for the "I'm starving" message. :(

A very Valkyria Chronicles look in that one.

Forced headbob for the sake of realism?

No! And this is why: -
You make a left-handed option in the character development menu.
slawterer (DayZ) replied to Johnny Depth's topic in General Discussion
This is the sort of feature to add once everything else is finished. This would be so much work, for so little gain, that the dev team could otherwise use on things which will add content to the game. Left handedness would be nice, sure, but it doesn't actually add substance. -
Hardcore: Shouldnt Zoom Not Exist?
slawterer (DayZ) replied to over9000nukez's topic in General Discussion
The unrealistic thing here is actually the zoom OUT not in. If you go into Iron Sights you're looking at exactly the same zoom level as when you're fully zoomed in. The zoom out is necessary because in reality, you're eyes are not a square monitor. You have peripheral vision showing you things to either side which simply don't show up on a screen at normal 'zoom' levels for the human eye. -
How would you like to see loot respawning done?
slawterer (DayZ) replied to omgwtfbbq (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The problem with the 500m Exclusion zone is that on High-Population servers, loot will never respawn on the coast or at the hotspots. Since it's exactly these servers which have trouble with the current model, this solves nothing... -
Idea how to restrain people from killing on sight.
slawterer (DayZ) replied to mpm470's topic in General Discussion
If you had actually read this post you would realize that the title is misleading. He does not want to 'restrain' people from Killing on Site, he wants to incentivise people, which Dean Hall is all for. Currently, all of the incentives are for one play style, yours, so incentives for another style should be welcomed. Even people who will always KoS should welcome incentives not to, as it will make those choices more meaningful and fun. It would also mean you have more potential victims who are not trying to pull the same stunt on you... -
Idea how to restrain people from killing on sight.
slawterer (DayZ) replied to mpm470's topic in General Discussion
Whilst developing some sort of PTSD after you have killed several people is a good idea, it's hard to implement well. Your suggestions here are too harsh and if they were too soft, it would make no difference. The red dot is way out. In the mod, we had a different skin for people who had killed enough others, and it didn't help at all. It just makes you complacent around those without it... -
I think we should have a discussion on the Rarity and Distribution of vehicles
slawterer (DayZ) replied to eleventhavenue's topic in General Discussion
I would like to see more vehicles but lower end ones. Having 3 or 4 vehicles total on a server just means that the lucky/dedicated few are the only ones who see them, and once you have one vehicle it's easy to round the rest up if you have a friend. I'd like to see a reasonably high number of pedal bikes, maybe 15-20 per server, which drain your stamina to ride. These mean that more people can experience vehicular travel without changing the balance much. Maybe a few clapped out old cars that take a lot to repair and a truck or two. Personally I'm against the inclusion of helicopter, but if you must have one then a small civilian one seems the best option. I'd also like to see there be many more places that vehicles can spawn, rather than the very limited options in the mod, to make it harder to farm them. -
This would be viable so long as it tracks actual playing time. The "Days survived" from the mod was such that if you last played your character 4 months ago, then you could still be a fresh spawn on the beach for all it cared, you'd have survived 4 months. If this is to be the competitive metric, then time spent hiding in a bush is fine, but time spent logged out and invulnerable is not...

There is a memory leak at present related to the textures on certain Weapon Attachments, therefore military loot spawns will cause your FPS to plummet.
