1pp or 3pp doesn't matter. That was awesome!

So we should remove scopes and the ability to see far into the distance?
-
Wow... wtf.. Those guys deserve a medal!
-
This would work as well. I definitely could see this working better than my idea. I just would like to see something akin to the player count affecting Zed count in some way shape or form!
-
With those saying you would rather have a static amount you could set a minimum amount for cities and other areas. But as player population increases so does the Z's. I could see where it would be a programming nightmare though as well.
-
I can see how that would work but if you have 50-100 man servers you would have to adjust accordingly or the smaller servers would be overwhelmed. I also feel as if more people are in 1 area more zombies would be drawn to that area. I do see your point. Keeping it static could make for some very interesting supply runs into a town solo or as a small group.

You have my beans!
-
This is a good idea and I have a feeling it might implemented further down the road when the meat and potatoes of the game are finished and fine tuned. Small things like this would add a bit of realism to the game. But if this is done I want leg holsters for pistols as well as using a vest.

Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail
CrazyCorky replied to randalmcdaniels's topic in General Discussion
So many self-proclaimed experts who know how this game will play out. How the hell can you figure it out if the producers of the game can't decide where it's going!? YOU CAN'T!!! OMG... I'm going to say it.... IT'S AN ALPHA!!! You're here to help make the game better not cast your stupid judgement on where you THINK it's going! Everything is broken. It rains in buildings, people can glitch walls, you can die from falling 3ft, a zombie can attack me from 3 floors down. You have to get the base coding of the game right. Get the architecture in there. Have people test it. This game will do fine as long as developers can figure out the direction its going and not cave into the care-bears complaining about the direction its going. If you don't like it then move along and find yourself something else to play... Or if you know what you're doing create your own damn game that will be better than Day-Z... -
Nice!

What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
CrazyCorky replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
I fear that the zombies will never be the real threat. I want something that will force strangers to work together. Something to discourage carelessly firing a shot in a city. I fear we will never see hordes of zombies. -
Persistent Container AKA Tents? coming next update
CrazyCorky replied to punkvegita's topic in General Discussion
Are they going to be like the tents in the mod where other people can find and raid them or take them? -
Looking for people interested in making a DayZ shortfilm

I'm interested in helping how ever I can. I also have a server you could use. Just let me know. -
Loot farming server owners, and why the server browser is to blame
CrazyCorky replied to todd10k's topic in General Discussion
Why not add what ever server you played on to favorites and then delete it if stuff like that happens? -
I have to disagree with this. I dress in camouflage because when I'm running across a field I blend in better. That being said I'm 28 and am prior military. My play style is also more solo and staying hidden. But in essence you can usually generalize pretty well.

Always looking for people to have some shenanigans with on Day-Z! Looked like fun!

I was wondering around what year does Day-Z actually take place? I was asking because I wanted to look into the areas that surround Day-Z. The culture, weapons used, building types, and other like things. Any information is welcomed.

What time frame/era does Day-Z focus around?
CrazyCorky replied to CrazyCorky's topic in General Discussion
Alrghty thanks guys!! I appreciate it! Not sure why I didn't think to look at Arma II for storyline. -
Why are they adding sewing machines , and not fixing the game?
CrazyCorky replied to FrankWhite's topic in General Discussion
I'm pretty sure the idea of releasing the patch on Friday was the idea that people could play the whole weekend without interruption with the new items included. With the idea that when they get back to work on Monday that there would be a list of "bugs" that they could start looking at to find a solution that won't break the game again. Also I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that this patch on Friday was meant for Weds.. They just rolled it out early to fix the major bug of people getting stuck and not being able to respawn as well as fixing the logout bug where you would wind up where you were 5 minutes previous to logging out. Next time you want to create a moronic thread please do some research. Also multiple fixes have been posted. I can tell you that if you removed canned beans from your inventory your FPS problems will probably be fixed. -
Can anyone tell me what jacket/shirt they're using? Trying to figure it out because I want 1!

FPS DROPS LAST PATCH - MORE INFORMATION (SPAM TO DEVS)
CrazyCorky replied to stationmax's topic in General Discussion
I can confirm that what fixed it for me was: 1) Stacks of 60 rounds 5.56 2) The ruined texture on the baked beans cans. I even had worn/damaged items in my inventory and no FPS issues after getting rid of that stuff. For those that keep saying it... My specs: i7 3770k @4.2ghz EVGA 670GTX 4g 16g Ripjaw 2133 MSI M Power Z77 mobo EVGA Nex750B PSU Samsung EVO 120g -
Looking forward to more!

@paulus83 The newest Tomb Raider can be seen as a survival game in that everything you do is for your own good while trying to rescue your friends. However the game has a set storyline. Yet the game still had a progression system. But agai you can argue that it's not survival since it's all a scripted and doesn't have permadeath.
-
I personally would love to see some sort of progression. However the way to go about it and still have the game balance would prove to be quite difficult. I think the idea of actually having your skills become more refined the more you do certain actions. The question is what would be the skills? Hunting: The more you hunt the better your accuracy? The more you skin the less meat you lose while skinning? Cooking: Meals become better prepared? Meals are more filling giving more energy? Possibly giving some sort of stat boost? Medical: Use less bandages when healing? Easier to revive some one from unconsciousness? Endurance: Travel further without losing energy? More resistance to getting sick? Take less damage from zombies and/or gun shots? These are just some ideas. The only flaw I can see with this is that you will have people that will do nothing but work towards increasing these stats and avoid all other contact if not necessary. On the flip side it could actually help build a community within the game once camps are created and implemented as sort of a safe zone. All in all I do agree that there needs to some sort of progression with the character itself. Although once more zombies are implemented and the North side of the map more populated the game will actually become more survival and less about finding the military gear.

If not with the MOLLY stuff just add in a large military pack similar to the hiking one. Make it rare. I'm sure if we were to have an apocalyptic event things like that would get left behind by the military. Just make them rare. Also you could add in a day pack that's the same size as the regular book bag.
