I am with u people, but I can't help but think of all these little, shoddy dressed, stinko Himalayans who would pick up a super kitted European on their backs and carry them like forever. Them tourists and all their high tech gear and clothes, while they would go barefoot on wet snow so as not to get their shoes worn. Human is an animal of habbit...

Can see arround corners and most important can share your view with team from affar. If u have remote trigger can set awesome trap ;)

Prototype my foot, we airsoft use the portable wireless cams with arm-strapped monitors, bought in ebay from China at $112.00 Oh and that's 2 year old news ;P
-
Not exactly on topic, but close enough :) U know how u can mount wireless cameras on helmets and have the feed show on a monitor? Would be cool if there were such a lootable gadget in SA. Then buddies would be able to link while online and have the other person's fp view show on a small window. Far less friendly fire and much better team coordination. And for those questioning the realism of such "windows" there are allready army HUD, worn over one eye as well as palm sized wireless monitors. By the way, cameras could be mounted on guns too, along with remote triggers... ah the possibilities!

[SA] Use Arma 3's stances for the standalone || [MOD] use smk animations for the mod

Would be cool if they had the "fumbling posture" too. I can't remember how many times I 've seen mags flying, heads banging/knees bashing with weapons/doors/each other, while trying something elaborate. Personal favourite: guy gets hooked from helmet strap while clearing room, major bruise! -
Standalone - Gun Stores / Police Stations

What I want to be sure of is that every building can be entered, even if empty. The diversity of buildings is secondary to the realism of the existing ones. Still, if there should be more kinds, I would like to see banks, pharmacies, restaurants and some stores for clothes, furniture etc. What would be their loot value? Not much, but doesn't it strike as odd that there is none arround? Ps Could we get the developer's office premices with the infected developers inside? If the game turns out kaka I know where I would be camping ;) -
Evidence of Military 'Defense' in Cities
wisper replied to gesundheitk's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
In any case, the cities are not large enough, or important enough to warrant strategic fortifications. Abandoned evacuation centres perhaps? -
Standalone Multiple Suggestions(read tags)

On the private hosts subject, I am not technically knowledgable enough to know how easy it would be. If it can be though, the super cool thing I would be looking for is geographic variation. Like the private host expand the original layout to include different land features. I know that many people ask for this and providing the freedom to private hosts might be the solution, instead of overworking the developer team. -

Oh u think? Then what's the point of arguing about anything? In fact, what's the point of having a forum? Don't tire yourself, I'll tell you: It is to have a think tank where good, average and bad ideas are expressed, so that the project in progress can benefit most. Being a mute point cause it's allready decided,.. before release? That contributes nada ;) Sorry, but your earlier style reminded me "thou shall not..." sermons fit mostly to religious fanatics. -
Standalone Multiple Suggestions(read tags)

Two things: 1 The game needs to generate income. If it developes into a good game it deserves to generate more income. By excluding portion of potential buyers on grounds of internet connection would incur financial loss for arguable benefit. 2 Why can't there be a middle ground so to speak? For example, at five combat disconnects u get a warning and at the tenth one u die?... -
November 1995, we had to collect pieces from a heli crash. It had crashed on a pine tree and half of it was still up there. The tree was not burned in the least, (although it was quite broken). We had to stay there for 2 days and criss cross 200 to 300 square meters to find all the items. All looked like garbadge and I would really doupt if anything worked. I would think that the in game dispersion should be far wider and the loot that actually works much scarcer. Interest point: nobody died in that crash, but all 5 were hospitalized, think all kinds of broken bones.

Question: Are there going to be different avatar sizes, (aka short, average, tall, very tall, nba material)? If so, different size people should have different food quantity requirements, (smaller people would need to forage less ;) ). Kudos to thegalakrodian whose idea I follow up here.

How about basking in the sun, on an oil rig, while fishing ;)
-
I personally prefer the animalistic feel to the infected. Like they are unable to unbuckle themselves from their car seats, they should not be able to use any weapons, even the crudest. Anyway, it would be awkward to lunge and parry with an infected.
-
All of it sounds good to me :)
-
Recycling old thought: would also be cool if u could write on walls. Then u could plaster warnings for anyone approaching your cosy shelter. A fire place could also act as a trap for both players and infected... and even you. The rush every time u would abandon the house for fear a sniper has spoted the smoke and is now baring down on you...

Since the subject is bows/crossbows, an idea: trebouchet and ballista. Build them with lots of effort. Use them to lay siege on bases, if they become available above ground. Think of this: capture infected, load them on trebouchet, throw them in the enemy camp just before attacking. Even mangled they could cause all kinds of trouble ;)
-
...or an infected in coma :P
-
The idea is very good, as long as it does not overtax the system. Injuries should not burden too much character performance either, otherwise everyone who feels that the handicap is too great will get themselves offed and start afresh.

A huge wall of text of suggestions for the standalone[ophthalmologist advisory for reading a lot required] :p
wisper replied to Kitami's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
If enough people feel like it, they will create a clan. That's the beauty of dayz :) -
Good idea, do they have more than one way in and out? That could be limiting, unless they model a huge cave in exposing portion of the tunnel network.

wisper replied to Kitami's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
One does not preclude the other Kitami. There can be bases the way u discribe them, (or not,) while players can have the possibility to create hiding holes in the apropriate terrain also. It would give more flexibility to casual players. -
Any underground network will also provide protection from snipers who camp at prime locations and turn dayz to no more than a firing range ;)
-
Medieval weapons! If there's a museum, they are sure to be found. Especialy shields and spears/poleaxes would give a new twist to melee, (protection/longuer reach).

How about goul type infected, exclusive to sewers? Then u can walk on the street and have these gouls creep up to u from rain water drains on the sides of the road.
