The clan/tribe/legion/pack thing is interesting. Members can have tatoos and armbands to identify each other. Building communities lke that will add meaning to the game and perhaps reduce KOS. Also greeting (F1), once aknowledged and reciprocated should count as being introduced. Player's name should then appear, (I wana know da traitor creep). KOS and betrayal is very strong in sa, which is so stupid at this stage, where there is no real need for banditry.

Cool addititions would be to pick froots from trees, wield a different item in each hand, (pistol and riot shield mmmm,) be able to climb. Camo your gear/spray paint messages? Later...

Not enough Food and Drinks --------------> KoS

Have to say, not happy with the food/water messages. They stress me out and instead of doing anything else, I just look to fill backpack. From full to starving into unconsiousness took 2h, which I also find short, (not sure, but I think thirst took longer to drop me). There should be more water bottles also. It is inconseavable that u have trouble finding a contenair to fill water in an urban environment... -
All things said, I expect improvements on all of the above in good time (alpha). I am impressed at the smoothness in high quality graphics. The only out of place thing is a body that I saw "crawling" for a small distance and then reappearing at start point, repeatedly (in a loop). Unconsiousness, health in general is a problem for me too. What I would suggest, so that we don't spoil immersion, is to have a separate manu, next to inventory, that can show all such info, (hunger, thirst, sick, wound).

As Vambumees wrote, cigarettes... and alcohol. No way those long lasting products that are found in such abundance today, be extinct.

EndEffekt has it right. Basic things first, meaning the ability to climb trees, ledges and with the proper equipment fences/buildings. Walk/run gets stuck sometimes. Bicycles. More can openers!

BigMike, flip scope x2-6 are real. If u in US just drop to your local gun store. If in Europe, try Dutch webs for tactical equipment. Can combine with holosight :) My weapon add on suggestion is playmate posters! Stick them arround, hide with your trusty knife... nobody will know what hit them ;) -
Agree with Static and AP Noris both, meaning that some form of "mini game" that will decide your success in treating medical/fixing mechanical problems, would be cool. Books with real life information would not improve any stats, but would help u make the right decision. As such, u could research it outside the game, but it would be nice to have access of such information in-game. Flying helis, building, driving etc don't need such "mini games" for the success is in the result, aka surviving the landing, shelter not collapsing etc.

Clumzy is right. U wana make things harder? Introduce ammo quality, (missfires,) which makes sence years into the plague. Don't mess scope mechanics.

Different weapons have different signatures, both audio and visual. G3 and FN FAL night shooting their 7.62, not so bad, while I have blinded a night scope for good with a FALO. So all comments above are true, depending what u fire. -

U place a piece of cloth under where the muzzle is. At the very least, u sprinkle some water on the dirt underneath it. Even without silencer, it's damn hard to figure out where the shot came from. -
Forget helis/planes, I wana ride da sputnik! Outer space Gravity-like and back. The tricky bit is to crush within the map again ;) Imo all kinds of air transport should be available, with realistic technical/maintenance issues and flying mechanics. U wanna lift off? Put in the time to service the mashine and crush it 10secs into lift off proceedure... Like this, I bet some people will actualy become profecient with a specific type of plane and become integral to its operation, (since not many others will know how to fly the damn thing). So u want to fly from point a to point b? Be nice to the pilot!

Very interesting, well done ;) . Don't know if it is technically feasible, but it would spice up the "environmental hazards". If zs are hungry, they might moan louder too and thus attract more zs, that would end up creating a horde?

Great idea, it solves imersion issues that arise from respawning better then the actual system that is now in place, well done ;) On the subject of infected, not actual zs, rabid dogs have been found to play with their kill, if given the opportunity, (until the police arrived).

While I read all the posts to this topic, I keep thinking that the problem in dayz sa will be too many players. Too many to realisticaly surve after an alocalypse situation. Too many that zs will become just a hindrance, (if not a tool to spot other players etc). Too many that the presence of a car will cause resentment from all not driving it. Too many that u will end up running towards them/away from them, or camping in wait for them (other players). It shouldn't be like this. Advancing by foot at a z-infested world should be fraught with suspence (zs more dangerous/alert/cunning aggressive). Walking might be less boring then, and no need for the marathon. Meeting another player should be rare and present opportunities for interaction (big big big map, co op needs for constructing, repairing, healing, etc). Along with equipment damage that is implemented, it could perhaps lead to less kos? Did I digress?...

Shouldn't we be discussing more basic implementations than this beforehand? Being able to push a car, or handbrake securing it on a slope is more important then fumbling different keys for clutch and gears imo.

Sounds good. Don't care much about 4,... although it would make trading stakes a hazard, especialy if taken from zs ;)

Amputation in such conditions would cause death most of the time. Furthermore, this being a game, there is not much to stop u from restarting to avoid the handicap. (Personaly I would strap myself with explosives and blow the f@#/$rs who did this to my avatar ;) ). Having said that, branding and even small scale amputation, (finger) might appeal to some as a form of personalisation.

Like it! Zs, if wounded and not killed outright, could have an unconsious counter, just like players. After count down, they could get back up, crawl, or remain immobile but able to attack in close range, all depending on the extent of damage. Bet sticks will become handy if this gets implemented, (poke poke) ;)

As an extra feature, why not? Could we also have the capability to build manual, makeshift ones that carry you from building to building so as to avoid the zs? Then u could fortify a set of high buildings and interconect them with such a network. -
Food should be relatively scarce, but not in an extent that u constantly look for it because then it would simply be tedious. In an Arma3 wasteland they forgot to put in food/water alltogether and we had to hide our equipment, die, respawn, go get it back... Also, scarcity should be random. Otherwise we will have both campers and scheduled, organized raids that would deplete the entire map..

Part of training, had to get shot by walter 9 I think it was. Bulletproof vest with front plate, no breakfast, still puked my guts out. Half stress half shock I guess, my chest still sore 10 days later. They say, being wounded hurts more but less shock... wouldn't know about that. Point being, u get shot, u don't turn arround and unload your clip on your target easy does it. U twitch, u squeel and if ur lucky u get a couple of rounds down the general direction. Perhaps sa should implement shock damage instead of tweaking existing weapon damage. This would add "realism," while keeping the game more playable then real life.

Straightforward enough. Spawn after death and when logging should happen in building basements. This gives u the chance to protect from snipers, while making the session start more atmospheric, due to the possibility of zs lurking in there.
