Yes for brighter night (stars/flickering lights) and a couple of hours duration, (some of us have only so much time to play). I believe flashlights were initialy intented mostly for dark basements/caves that are yet to appear... -

I like this idea and find it wellcome in any form (from basic info to elaborate). I would also like to see a server counter for zs killed, maxing out at 6billion :p Hud would look out of place, but journal, or info displayed at start up screen are valid options to me. -
If they bring it, they need to do it right. Rain effect, wet forest, thermal blankets, fire need to affect thermal scopes accordingly. Otherwise they might as well include precognition... now that's something, having your character say "I sence unfriendliness up ahead" :p

I believe mirrors are a must. U get suppressed by sniper while in cover, there is no other safe way to scan no man's land safely. If they could be crafted in dayz, they would be my second priority after axe.

It sounds very interesting. Price tag is an issue.. would like to know the developer's take on this.

Barricading should be adversely linked to spawning of loot, (once a building is barricaded no loot spawns inside.) Also, to fortify something should make loud noise.

One interesting suggestion that came up when this was last discussed involved having a player dead centre in your virtual sights for a short distance or scope sights for longer distances, for a fiew seconds. After that and as long as u had both introduced to each other before the name could appear in a corner of the screen like a message, ("u think this is sleek stick" for example).

I want everything! Including submarines! Now find a competant crew of 58+40some specialized engineers to operate it without sinking... Same goes for helis. In a widespread infestation they would be largely used and it follows they would mount weapons on them, even the civilian ones. But for how long would they stay opperational without the infrastracture. So yes include them, along with the ton of technical issues that need to be addressed before they even lift off and then slap in real heli flight physics :p

NexVentor, if there is a steel door I cannot open, my first idea is that it protects something valuable. Something that belongs in my inventory. If it is a wooden/weaker door... it shouldn't taunt me by remaining closed. Where is my axe? If the locked door is the designer team's limit, it either shouldn't be there at all or said designers should go the extra mile and open it ;) -

All doors/windows should be interactive (open or break) even if there is just an empty room behind. It's a question of immersion more significant then most other here discussed. ...Once they solve the zs pathfinding issues, it would be cool to have loads of zs poring out of boarded up rooms, once broken into... -
It is expected that at some point we will be able to create our own bases, hiding holes and/or barricade existing buildings and even town sections to use as home turf. I was thinking that some group could then block high value loot spawn ground for their own use. As I see this an unfair advantage, I would suggest that on a radious arround a fortifiacation anything placed is concerved, but no new loot appears unless such barricade/fortification/dug out hole gets removed by a player. This could lead to interesting fights between groups to get access to resources...

This is my effort to make dayz more realistic, taking into account the necessary concessions of a game. U die=u respawn in the coast in jeans and t-shirt and in the midle of an apocalipse. U change server=u find fresh loot where u just visited. How to explain these? With a real world theory and an sf technology: Parallel worlds is the theory and the ability to travel between them is the imaginary technology. The premise being that in finding the cure in a possible universe and having the technology to cross to other universes, they try to "disinfect" as many worlds as possible. They won't send huge armies, cause then equivallent amount of matter would be reapt from the target universe and brought back to their own, so they opt for plain clothed agents (that's why everybody is so fit) that are armed with a vial of the cure. The goal being to reach worlds at the early stage of infection as close to ground zero (hence the plain clothes), they obviously reach many at several stages of decomposing. This background could be used to explain all the servers and respawns. Could even evolve in servers at different srages of the infection in the future, or with different geographic ground zero as the target in a plausible way. It could also allow players to create their own goals: How to use the cure? Try to reproduce it for all the infected? Discard it and start exterminating? Carve their own empire in the new world? ...In case ur are wondering, no I haven't been drinking :p Just trying to make all stick together...

Mass burial grounds, abandoned open but with a fair amount of bodies in different stages of decomposing. High loot/high infection probability and not accessible without gas mask. -

Good point, but then if someone dugs enough holes, could block an entire section from zs in an unrealistic way... unless different constructs have different radious values and "blocking" effects. Develepores job cut out for u... :p
