I just ordered all the components for my new computer, and I've wanted to play DayZ for around 6 months now, so I'm pretty excited that I'll be able to. The thing is, buying this computer has set me back a lot of money (I'm 18 in a few months and just lost my job) so my dilemma is whether I should buy the £17 pairing of Arma 2 and OA, or wait for 3+ months (or however long it'll take) for the standalone. Thanks.

Ah that's good to hear, as I know DayZ is CPU intensive but glad to hear that this CPU can handle it.

I wish all Bandits were smart, and by that I mean they realised that the player they're killing blindly is actually a person, who wants to play the game for fun, not to just be killed. I was at a friend's house playing DayZ and this group of bandits came over, told us to lie down after dropping our weapon, checked our gear and told us they'd dump our gun down the road so we could come and get it when they'd left. Later that day we met another bandit group who just killed us straight away then checked our gear, which is no fun at all :3 -

It's safer to have a team, as if you come across other people you will stand a greater chance, but if you have the firepower by yourself you can probably deal with a small group yourself. I personally would travel alone normally, but have a few friends who you can be with if needed.
