"Pumping games out fast" usually doesn't end well What you described is exactly why BF4 was a giant piece of shit for the longest time
-
I can't see how they will work out the controls and still have everything be quick and easy to access Even if they do figure that out, trying to aim accurately is going to be an absolute disaster. That's just a fundamental problem with shooter-style games and controllers
-
You kinda missed the point entirely
-
I think you're being a little too optimistic. For all we know DayZ for PS4 could be a flop or not even a thing at all, but mod support on a PS4 game? That's stretching it really far. Also I'm pretty sure the DayZ (mod) mod makers didn't go into mod making with the mindset of "I'll be sitting on stacks of cash soon". People mod because they want to, just look at all the insane mods for games like Skyrim, Minecraft, L4D2, etc etc.
-
or they could just add mod support. Mods are great because you don't have to pay even more money for them. "Want to play Epoch? Give me $10 then fucker." I'm speaking for PC by the way because I seriously doubt we're going to be seeing a console port anytime soon especially with how progress pace has been so far.
-
You want lots of mods to be paid content? pls no
-
I think that's a bit of an overestimate.

I Give up... I really want my money back.

If you hate bandits that much then you might as well quit the game entirely -
Thank you for doing a test baker, pretty neat results could you post CPU Z details while the game is running, and avg FPS with settings?
-
The point was that it's not uncommon to see steam users spend huge amounts of money on their games. And I have no idea what you're going on about the fb likes I'm not saying piracy is not an issue, it's an issue on both sides. However you kept using the old "pc gamers are all pirates" stereotype and even went as far as to say that steam sales are needed to reduce piracy, which isn't true
-
The steam sales work wonders on making people buy on impulse, it's genius. The only summer sale game I bought was Borderlands 2 GOTY edition, which I've already put close to 200 hours in
-
heh that makes sense. Either way that thread helps show how much money most people dump into games on Steam.
-
A lot of people, including your fellow forum users... Here's a thread about how much people's Steam accounts are worth (by how many games they own) - http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/153726-how-much-is-your-steam-account/ As you can see almost everyone's account in there is worth several hundred to even thousands of dollars. Must be a lot of pirating eh?
-
That doesn't explain why valve still makes a shit load of money from steam even when sales aren't going on, which is most of the year. It's nice to not spend the full amount for games every now and then, most people aren't made of money. Have you ever noticed how often the "Top Sellers" list fluctuates? it has to do with making money, and has nothing to do with preventing pirating. AFAIK the game publishers themselves make agreements with valve on how much to discount the game, usually to get more people to buy it Out of my many years of playing games on PC, I've never once pirated a single game. It's nowhere near as mainstream as you make it out to be, which is why you always hear people talking about how many games they've bought off steam, and not how many games they've pirated
-
Are people really still using the "pc gamers are all pirates" stereotype? Why do you think people lose their shit over Steam sales? If everyone pirated their games then nobody would care
-
I see what you're saying, but the amount of cores only matters if the game can actually make use of them. Just because the PS4's cpu has 8 cores does not mean games will make use of most of them, that's up to the devs to optimize the game correctly, and optimization does not seem to be a strong suit of DayZ devs. For a game like DayZ, 4 faster cores > 8 slower cores, which I why I said that CPU is more powerful. I'm talking about just DayZ, not in general
-
That CPU is much more powerful than the one in the PS4, and as you know what GPU you have makes almost no difference in DayZ If they can get it to look good and run good, then fantastic, I'm not against it at all
-
That's not the desktop GPU you're probably thinking of, it's more comparable to a 7850, which is not very exciting and will quickly become even more outdated as time goes on. While the CPU has 8 cores, they are 8 very weak cores. I'm not saying the PS4 sucks, no one should expect anything amazing from a $400 console. But it's not as good as you're making it out to be. They would have to dumb down DayZ quite a bit for it to run somewhat decent on a PS4, or optimize the living hell out of it. I highly doubt the latter though It'd be great for console players to have a chance at trying out DayZ (I remember how badly I wanted to play the game when I didn't have a PC to run it), but I wouldn't expect anything mindblowing
-
pls calm down It's always going to turn into a discussion about PC vs console or something along the lines of comparing/contrasting the two, that's just the nature of the topic Did you really expect people to be civil?
-
It's funny because you're just like the PC master race elitists, except on the other end of the spectrum. You just generalized and stereotyped the shit out of PC gamers.
-
People, who already have DayZ on PC, are complaining because they don't have a PS4 makes total sense
-
If you put a PC gamer (keyboard and mouse) up against a console player (controller), the PC player will pretty much always win. The mouse is simply more accurate, more responsive, and you can turn around and make other movements much faster I'm not a PC elitist by any means, it's just easy to tell how much more accurate mouse and keyboard is compared to controllers when you've played on both consoles and PCs a lot
-
Hold back development of the PC version even more? GENIUS!
-
No, too weak.

http://www.battleye.com/support.html It's unlikely you'll get any solution other than to purchase a new copy of Arma 2. As land walrus said it will have to be done on a new steam account otherwise you'll still be banned from Battleye. no more hacking plz thx
