Ultra realism would be incredibly boring Basically increase the time and complexity of tasks by 10
-
They aren't zombies, rather infected humans. There is no reanimation of corpses Plus survivors are immune to infection
-
All of this.

Zombies should have MUCH more HP than humans
Death_Dealer replied to andrestor's topic in General Discussion
You kidding me? What's more scary: A. a rotting zombie slowly stumbling towards you while moaning, ready to "eat your brains" or B. a horribly infected person running full speed at you ready to use brutal force and kill you Also regarding undead zombies... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNe99a_aAMc 1:20 -

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions
Death_Dealer replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
You gear up too quickly in the mod and ridiculously way too quickly in the standalone I still don't really understand the point you're trying to make, you seem to be going all over the place with this -
Absolutely not. Even if you put time limits it's still unfair and would be widely abused
-
I think it looks great, and it's very functional arma 2's inventory system is clunky and slow

Consolidated Weapons/Equipment suggestions
Death_Dealer replied to rocket's topic in Mod Announcements & Info
@Cerbo Knight Dean himself said he wanted DayZ to be an "anti-game"*, meaning it will frustrate the hell out of you and it will be brutal. If you spend hours on end gearing up but then get murdered, well sorry, that's part of the game If you can't accept that then maybe DayZ isn't the game for you *“At times I’ve called it an anti-game because when I designed it I felt like I was breaking a lot of the things as a game designer you were told to you need to do. These were things like providing balance, for example, and I wanted to try something different,” ^ also includes "not frustrating users" -
Please.

Should Gillie suits be a craft-able item only?
Death_Dealer replied to kermo50's topic in General Discussion
imo it should be a rare military spawn, but also craftable using the local vegetation I'd imagine making one from scratch would require netting, string of some sort, and the vegetation (barebones). Sewing really wouldn't be necessary. You could just put branches with leaves on them onto the netting and tie it with string Also there should be penalties for wearing ghillie suits, such as overheating -
So I read that people don't like FrankieonPC the youtuber for DayZ

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xC4SITywbE Pretty solid evidence if you ask me Also he has a very cocky attitude which gets on my nerves <_< -
Both. Sometimes I pvp but most of the time I just survive normally I do the live-off-the-land type stuff just cause I find it more interesting than going on killing sprees
-
While this would be insanely cool, it seems like it would be pretty hard or even impossible for the devs to do with the current engine + the amount of work like retexturing (even small things like shrubbery and grass would have to be retextured/removed)

Catastrophic frame drops

I remember Rocket saying something about the virus being airborne, so it would make sense that we're immune to it
-
I don't think new players take a liking to being called "noobs" and "bambis" (please don't ever use that word again) And honestly most of the stuff you wrote is very self explanatory
-
that's not a good excuse
-
No one can pull a constant 60 fps throughout the whole map, it just isn't possible Fiddle around with your settings until you find what works best :) (I would disable post processing and anti aliasing for considerably better fps)
-
If you're tired of the bugs, posting an anger filled rant thread will get you nowhere. It'd be best to just report the issue (http://feedback.dayzgame.com/bug_report_page.php) and take a break to relax a little And also as Smash said there were two huge disclaimers, one on the steam section for DayZ and another right when you open DayZ. Obviously you agreed to both
-
Rocket made the mod, Bohemia did not. He owns the DayZ game, but Bohemia is also involved in it. They work together
-
That's not the way DayZ was meant to be played though What DayZ was originally like is what Rocket wanted it to be. It's his game
-
There were private hives in the mod for this reason, but then it morphed into ridiculous "7,000+ vehicles / 500+ helicopters / self-blood bag / auto-refuel / donator kits" servers. I, and I'm sure many others, do not want that stuff anywhere near the standalone. It's almost impossible to find a well populated vanilla DayZ server nowadays :(

As long as you're kind to others when discussing or arguing an issue, they will usually be kind back. Constructive criticism is important; calling someone a 'whiny baby' won't solve any issues There are lots of people here with many different ideas and views, and it will always be that way
