Bandits aren't really rewarded. All they get is a different skin. People are also way more likely to shoot players with bandit skins, so you're basically a KoS target all the time. Heroes on the other hand, get a much cooler looking skin and if I remember correctly, run faster. They are much more trusted too, obviously. I think the bandit/hero system is perfectly fine how it is now.

Man, I remember my first player encounter. Heart was pounding, couldn't think straight, and I was scared to death. Now it's just routine business. Where did the good times go? -
Normally when I play DayZ I get a good 40 or so FPS. But, when I go in dense forests (more specifically the ones with orange trees) my FPS plummets to 20 FPS or lower. The same goes for when I look at them. Anyone know of a way to fix this, or at least boost FPS for lag caused by trees? Intel Core i7-2670QM NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M 6 GB of RAM Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Would definitely love to see realistic car crashes in the SA. So if people try to play chicken, it's not going to end well. It would also be really neat to have blood and gore. Imagine coming across a head-on collision with both drivers mangled in the wreck.. -

Yeah, definitely. Once I began learning pretty much the entire map, I felt an emptiness inside of me.. things started to get a little boring after that. -

Very rarely you can come across a true bandit, one who will attempt to rob you instead of just shooting on sight. Most DayZ bandits kill everything that moves without hesitation, though. -

As far as I know, all the towns will stay on the map for the standalone, but they will be improved and new locations are being added. -

I play for fun and tend to mess around a lot. Obviously that sometimes gets me in pretty terrible situations but for the most part I enjoy being relaxed while playing. When it comes to players, I try my best to avoid contact with them. I only shoot at them if they shoot at me. -
The best feeling is finding someone's massive campsite and burning it to the ground. B)

Unfortunately this play-style doesn't work too well (at least when I've tried it) as players nowadays try to kill everything that moves, without hesitation. -

^ This. Go outside in the forest and try living on your own, then come back and tell us if it was enjoyable or not. Point is, too much realism in a game can ruin it, as it can be extremely frustrating. I'm not against adding more realistic mechanics into the standalone, but this idea is a bit too extreme. -

You're funny. Obviously you misunderstood my post. I'm saying a completely realistic game would be the exact opposite of fun. There are certain boundaries to realism when it comes to video games. I can guarantee you not many people would enjoy DayZ if its realism was taken this far. For the record, I hate CoD. -
