Like others said, hackers aren't really a problem in DayZ as long as you stay away from the public servers. Try joining a private hive server with active admins, preferably a whitelisted one. The server I play on though, doesn't even have a whitelist and I cannot remember the last time I actually saw a hacker. :)

Achievements don't fit the theme of the game. In a real zombie apocalypse, would you be running around trying to get 1,000 zombies kills?

Perhaps they could be like the non-aggroed zombies in Left 4 Dead 2? The ones that rest, not walk around or vomit. Here's an example of one of the resting positions - Some of them also lean against walls and appear to be sleeping, but I couldn't find an image of that. Sleeping zombies would be unable to see, but still have the ability to hear movement. Upon startling the resting zed, they could jump up and realize there's a fresh meal right in front of them- you.

If you see a sniper on the hills of Elektro or Cherno, please do not hesitate to kill them.

There's no point in hiding gear/vehicles in already known spots, as they will more than likely get stolen and/or destroyed fairly quickly.

I'm guessing either the pond south of Skalka or the two lakes southeast of the northeast airfield.

That's pretty cool, actually. Hell, I'd give up my gear just to see my character shoot himself in the head..

Spraying a human with bear spray can actually cause asphyxiation, so I'd imagine it can actually be lethal. Someone also reported having extremely watery eyes and a runny nose after being sprayed by bear spray ... twenty feet away. I suppose it would be a good self-defense item.

Few things wrong with your post.. 1. Bears are generally much faster than humans, so outrunning run will not be easy. 2. They are also large and strong creatures. You would need a very powerful weapon to successfully take a bear down. They have been known to take multiple shots to the face and still keep on moving.

North of Guba bay is a pretty nice place to hide tents and vehicles. It's very secluded and I've never seen any survivors or campsites up there, so I'm assuming it's not a popular spot. There are many thick forests in the area and even a flat hilltop to hide a helicopter. I should also mention that the PBX (the fastest boat in DayZ, as you probably know) spawns on Guba bay, so that's another plus. Edit: Guba bay is located northeast of the northeast airfield, if you're having trouble finding it. Double edit: Another great spot to hide tents, believe it or not, is at secluded homes; more specifically the ones that only have a dirt road leading to them. Players usually don't expect to find tents or vehicles at these spots.

Same problem here. I've noticed it only happens when I enter places that spawn zombies.. so maybe zombie spawning is the cause. Anyway, I've yet to find a fix, and I doubt there is one. Unfortunately zombie/loot spawning isn't very CPU-friendly. I'm sure this will be fixed or better optimized in the standalone. Only time will tell.

Run to the middle of the airfield, set up a tent and campfire, then wait. Someone might come over and give you gear free of charge!
