What I want to see in the standalone

First of all, carrying an M107 around killing people? wat. That gun weighs a whole lot, and the recoil is a 'tad bit' high. I say completely remove it or add limitations. Eg. You'd have to get down and set it in position before firing, such as deploying a bipod, or it would be rather hard to achieve an accurate shot. -
Does that include automobiles? Hell, that'd be pretty neat actually. It would stop the kiddies from taking all the vehicles!

On a clear night, with no moon (new moon), it is still fairly easy to see where you are going. Whereas in ArmA 2 it would be completely pitch black. Nights definitely need some needed work done on them. I do like the idea of dynamic fog rolling through every now and then. That would really set in a creepy, nerve-racking atmosphere.

Yes. I don't see anything special about this gun. Especially the auto variant. It would do a terrible amount of damage, just like the Makarov. Full auto would also be incredibly inaccurate.

Odd, I usually find heli crashes on the west side, not the east. Where they spawn is completely random though. I've also noticed a much higher spawn rate of SVD camos. Apparently there's an issue with some heli crashes spawning the wrong weapons.

What I would like to see is a firearm that uses the .357 magnum cartridge. It would be incredibly loud but have quite a bit of stopping power. Perhaps even a one-hit kill if you shoot in the right spot. Of course a major disadvantage is that the gun only holds 6 shots. Also, if we're going to have bears and other dangerous animals roaming the map, we're going to need powerful guns. Smaller bears can be killed with a .357 round but larger bears require more "heat". That is where powerful hunting rifles and shotguns come in. As for military grade weapons: I'd be okay with seeing a standard M4 or M16 lying around. This would make sense as the US was involved in Chernarus prior to the outbreak.

:facepalm: There will not be a DayZ singleplayer, the game is dependent on interaction with other players.

Standalone - Gun Stores / Police Stations

I'd imagine a group of bandits would just raid the gun store/police station and take everything for themselves. Of course a good way to prevent this is to add security measures the building and make it overrun with zombies. -

Well that's not exactly possible in the mod, as there are few choices of barricades and such in the ArmA 2 editor, but I'm sure stuff like this will be added into Chernarus+. -

Yeah, all of this stuff is already in the mod. There are car and tank wrecks almost everywhere. Some of the infected are also Czech soldiers. -
Helicopters do need to be harder to fly, and no armory. This will prevent a huey flying all over the map killing players like it's Battlefield 3. Only skilled pilots should be enjoying the open skies.

If you could get the chance to be a noob at DayZ again, would you? I know I would. There's something about DayZ when you're just starting out.. not quite sure what is is.. It just.. feels good.

Yes, I have (irl). It was in a forest too. Even though the cloud cover was thick, I could still see where I was going. Your eyes naturally adjust to the darkness. -

I've completely avoided night time in DayZ (if I don't have NVG) mainly due to the fact that night in ArmA 2 is completely unrealistic. It's pretty much pitch black, even when the moon is out. Hopefully this will be fixed properly in the standalone. DayZ + night = a terrifying experience; I love terrifying experiences. :) -
Why are you even posting here? If you don't like something, leave it alone. To be honest the 500+ vehicles threw me off a little too but I tried it anyway; I had an enjoyable time on this server. :thumbsup:
