That is insulting, they could easily make animals sparce, and spawned food sparce, just cause they are adding in variety does not increase quantity (if done right). -

There is literally NO reason to eat rotten food, it will only make you die faster, its fact. -
They messed up the anti combat log, it shouldn't even let you log while around players/zombies, being shot at, the mod did this so well but alas the SA we get an annoying timer every time we need to leave a server due to unbearable lag, or mis-clicking a server your friends were not on. Honestly that server hopping timer is BS, it shouldn't count if you are logging back into the same server AT LEAST.

I see it now says [experimental] now next to it, and steam cloud is supposedly configured as well, implying they are implementing steam features into the game to a more noticeable degree. Does this mean we can hope to see a dayz test client soon? Instead of installing and reinstalling for those who like to play stable with buddies and experimental alone? Honestly I always hated the test client for things like TF2 and dota 2 since it felt pointless, but with an alpha or actual game still in development it would ACTUALLY make sense. Hopefully it becomes a thing, honestly i don't know why they have those tests for finished products its a bit silly when all they do is tweaks compared to this new surge of early access games that would much better utilize the "test" client. Plus it pisses me off how i can't remove the test client...it just sits there, looking like clutter for finished games.

Lol buddy here is how its going to work. -get hatchet -go to tree -scroll wheel "cut tree" -MAYBE an animation -BAM wood in your inventory Don't expect fancy smancy tree falling till maybe next year. Or you know, never. P.S They BETTER let us cut firewood into sticks I shouldn't have to search houses for wood...with forest all around.

So ya if you get shot you go cripple, so gee big surprise thats what edit* EVERYONE WITH A GUN WHO KNOWS ABOUT HOW TO KNEE CAP are doing now just capping bambis SUPER HAPPY FUN TIME YAAAY I could go around doing the same thing, but unfortunately doing it once or twice actually makes me feel like a bag of dicks so it gets boring fast and since everyone else does it, its not even worth playing the game if you aren't interested in being a griefing jack off, hopefully they allow us to respawn if cripple (LIKE IN THE MOD), but until then playing is just boring, as it becomes more and more of a grief sim than walking sim and survival sim combined. Im pretty sure thats why people like dayz in the first place, so they can shaft people and laugh at their victims to get off, but for people like me who come in hoping for a survival sim not...whatever it is currently IDK just messed up, they should at least advertise the game as what it is and will most likely stay and not BS people by calling it a survival sim. Walking sim- makes sense its what you do 70-90% of the time Open world shooter- sure since thats what it is Large area deathmatch- same as above YOLO sim- yep people say FUKITOL and run around without a care Camping sim- sure why not the game encourages that people stay at one spot for 30 minutes to an hour in order to get a kill Survival sim- No, nothing at all in this game encourages you to survive its an open world deathmatch game, so hopefully the people making the game cater to that crowd or they make it clear they are not in that crowd cause right now it looks like they are trying to call dayz a survival game like the mod did, and the mod never really changed from a open world death match so I don't see why they dont just label the game OPEN WORLD DEATHMATCH.

Sooooo is this game going to have a manual or some kind of official index upon release? cause honestly the health system is complex and crafting will become more complex too so it would be nice if official indexes existed but honestly i feel like the game wont have any official guides. I dont mind data miners looking up values in files and making utube videos but for the newer players it seems unfair for them to have to dig around on how the game works.

i get the fig it urself thing but eh idk i just think it would be nice if people could get a starters guide with the game cause honestly i just see the game being/staying a niche game without some sort of initial help for new people, when the game officially releases with i mean at least minecraft has creative mode where u can mess with everything dayz doesnt really have that. So an official starters guide would be nice balance

make sure u check ur mic properties go advanced and uncheck the ability for programs to control mic see if that helps

i know they do im talking bout the new person wanting to know how the game works and having to go to 20 different sources to get info. i think the wiki would be great if the devs made official postings on it

clean levels will be a thing im sure badly damaged food will have a high chance of sickeness, same with other stuff, the health system is very easy to maintain right now, they don't seem to have a lot of things actually affect the health system but im sure that will change seeing as how they are working on rain and it making you wet.

Straps STRAPS straps straps straps STRAPS But ya let us craft slings for guns so we can carry one on a strap and the other on our back. Also leg holsters....we really....really need leg holsters, bandoliers would be nice as well. -

Could be duping attempts, there is a new way to dupe guns using a log out method which could explain situations like that.

yes I do hope that is true, I also hope it isn't broken hard though; by that i mean like what i see on some experimental servers. Super long restarts No loot Half the buildings loot spawns not working No way to self sustain They shouldn't even be worrying about server hopping, and making the game hard until survival isn't solely loot based. When they bring out hunting and living off the land such as that sure, bring on the daily restarts and almost no loot but until then I wish they wouldn't focus on preventing the over looters, (which is what it feels like with the recent changes). -

See I understand its alpha but here's the thing, i have been around for awhile, I played the mod at launch, I played all of 2012. Guess what, it never changed from an open world deathmatch it has ALWAYS been easy to survive, ALWAYS until I hear of future plans or see implementation of mechanics that counter that point I ain't holding my breath. -

Ya cause honestly an open world do what you want game sounds great in concept but big surprise people just levitate towards the easy way or w/e you want to call it (i.e KOS and torture people). There is nothing in game to do besides that for fun no coop except to KOS and torture with your buddies, there is literally no reason to do anything else really, They need mechanics that help balance the pure PVP aspect of the game, cause honestly an OPEN ENDED game like dayz should let and encourage people to play different playstyles besides a camping bandit douchebag, the game actually punishes you for being friendly (and yes its the games fault not players cause players have no other reason to not just attack you). I really hope they add morality/mental health to the game and do it right so its not punishing pvp but in fact just makes it less encouraged. There should be pros and cons to both play styles right now the only con to being a bandit douche is that their gear is wrecked when you kill them, but BIG SURPRISE they dont need gear cause they just server hopped on empty servers to get gear, so gear is irrelevant. SIMPLE PUT Too much of one thing sucks. Pure troll pvp is boring and gay and makes the game feel like im playing against auto aim bots. Pure friendship happy time no kill kill is equally boring in that nothing is happening, we need some middle ground. -
