Well keep in mind this is my personal opinion, and I know many people must think different, but I am sure they are all better than how they work now. Since I have to keep this short, basically how I think they should be: - Stronger, hit harder - More zombies! way more - Head shot kill only, body shots knock them out (maybe add gore?) - More hearing, less vision - Not run, maybe walk fast only. Well I haven't really seen zombies as runners, its an infection, I don't think they would be able to use the body's fully capability like runnning, thats why they walk funny. But they definitely need to be more dangerous if they can't run. A good example video is this zombie mod from GTA4. I could add a bunch of little details, but the basic idea is that. What do you think? Thanks!

The idea is kinda nice, but if you bury things, then tents will lose their value. You could just drop things on the floor also, if you do it in the woods it would probably look like its buried. don't know how this would affect servers either having buried items all over the map. Unless it has the same 7 days to destroy system.

I don't really care how they work right now cause I have no expectations on them being changed in the mod, for SA they will be revamped, but doubt they will run slower. What actually is the problem is not their run speed, but their animations and glitches, which makes them a lot harder for that matter. I doubt they will ever get tired, the player is the one that should get tired, this is why you have to learn to LoS them and lose them.

This thread is awesome, great job!! I suggest the author or anyone make a PDF version of this thread, so that the devs maybe can get an idea or use it as the games manual. I think the game should have a solid game manual, especially for new players. Even though its fun learning things on the go, right now for example its not obvious a morphine will fix a broken leg for example, so having a solid and polished game manual would be awesome. -
Really nice, I love it as I am also a big fan of Black Hawk Down. I will use that as a wallpaper. Btw I just made the intro of the movie Black Hawk Down in ArmA 2 if you want to check it out :) Do you by chance have a larger version of your picture? Thanks

Caves would be awsome, plus you wouldn't need to modify Chenarus that much either, just add entrances and then do the caves separately. The cool thing about the caves being in pitch blac, is that everyone will need to use flares or walk around with chem lights at least, so adventuring down there and looking up ahead for other players would be exciting. They could add special spawn points for loot or something, somehting like deer stands, but down in the cave, or even mines ;)

Standalone Helicopters, light, medium or heavy?

Hello, so my idea of these events would be randomly around the map, lets say for example have a huge horde attack on a town, I mean kind of massive. To fight this horde attack, players would have to group up to fight them, yeah even bandits if not there wouldn't be a chance. If say the players win, everything goes back to normal, maybe add some kind of reward. If the zeds win, they would overrun that town and there would be another event to re-capture it from them with some organized attack. By this happening it would design specific towns in the world marked as very dangerous (conquered by zeds), or safer, normal amount of zeds. This idea would make the community stick their guns and fight together, but on the contrary if say the players beat the zeds in that town, you could almost guarantee bandits are gonna start doing their job, so it would become a pvp deathmatch town, fight to your death, or run to fight another day. When these events occur, maybe they could be notified with a pop up like Wastelands or something, so other people know about it. This example I gave would be a PvE event that could lead to a PvP situation, but other obejctives could be mainly PvP focus for a specific reward. This example idea was taken from Guild Wars 2, an MMO, which mobs attack small towns and if you fail to defend, it becomes theirs, and then another event pops up to attack that town instead of defending it. There could be a whole bunch of other ideas for some kind of event system like this, so spit out any idea you also have of what could be done. Thanks.

Yeah that's how it works already, whatever you have in your main inventory you have hotkeys to use right away, if its your backpack, you stop and get it out. They probably have the inventory system done (maybe not all complete), but I think we would need to just sit and wait until they show it to us.

[Standalone] Severe weather (No disasters)

Yeah I agree, weather should be enhanced a lot, and it could change your gameplay experience a lot. I've always liked different types of weathers, say like normal, desert and snow. No desert in Chernarus of course, but adding some snowy mountains on the north or west side of the map that has nothing currently would be awsome. I have always thought of the weather, the thunders and lightnings now are pretty nice now, and probably even better in SA, rain of course sucks, so badly made, but still makes a big difference cause you can't see crap at night with it, so it actually fills its purpose of changing your experience. Imagine having wind storms and fog!! I've always wanted fog and don't understand how a zombie apocalypse wouldn't have it, just check this video example of the difference the fog give. (Its not DayZ) [/media]I have seen snow before in DayZ, very rare, but seen it. I think it would be nice to add a little more, but I doubt it will change what the map looks like, unless it could be easy to code or something they would do it. A very good example for snow is the next video, notice the snow falling, the sound of the wind and how everything looks whiter, and there is no snow on the floor, its just a change of video settings or something, adding that in the game would be insane! [/media]Having seasons change every 1-2 months would be awsome, that way playing at a different time would be a completely different experience again, I wouldn't make it real time, because many players wouldn't like specific seasons and just stop playing for whatever long it lasts. Its for SA. They are aren't zombies like you said, they are infected. Watch 28 days later ;)

Blind fire is considered a method for suppression fire, not to kill. So if they add it, thats what it would be mainly for. Blind fire for some friend to run to another cover, just get some heat and scopes off of you, if you actually want to kill, stand in the corner and lean like your supposed to.

The dogs idea has been in since beginning of DayZ mod. And if they give up on it, its because it will be so buggy and frustrating, the coding for it must be a bitch and I don't think many people will have them as they will just be griefed and killed, so unless they work perfectly and have something usefull, I doubt they will try to add them. Maybe in the future of the SA

This is a good idea, and since they are adding crafting, this could easily be one of the many recipes the game could have. The idea mentioned of how it would work is good. A visual effect would be good, but not look exactly like a zombie, so other players would be able to identify you, plus the fly sound would alert players, but not zombies. Also give like a 1/100 chance (or reasonable number) to get infected ever 1-5 minutes of having it on. Make it so that it is affected by zombies only when you walk standing, not crouch, running, prone, ect.. All this may make this useful in some situation where you might need to go by a big horde of zeds, but not very useful to have on all the time by no mean.

This would be pretty neat, I don't really care about the realism or not, cause you are talking about zombies and glowing eyes on them.. But the idea of just moving around at night and make a turn and see those eyes will be priceless.

I think you should be able to shoot while driving, but only passengers, not the driver. And have them shoot with very bad accuracy, almost like a suppression fire only, unless the car was stopped you could aim without getting out. So in a car chase or something maybe you can hit a few or mainly scare them away, but yeah, nothing fancy.

Well in a zombie apocalypse I think the only bullets we would have are the ones left in the world, unless you come from some narco country where they know how to make illegal bullets, but still its not something that everyone would know or even bother trying to do. -

I love playing at night and most of the time I play its night time. I would have a day cycle last say 12 hrs instead of 24 hrs. I know its realism and so, but you don't die of hunger in one day either right? It just adapts your playstyle a bit to the time someone would play, maybe with 12 hrs day cycles you will enjoy both night and day, without making the cycles go to fast either.

I like the idea, however I think the timing should be like 1-2 hours for the body to disappear, so say you will see it bleeding for the first part of time, then you will see it decomposing, and at the end when its rotten and with flies, after it disappears (total around 1-2 hrs). Why? Because if there is a big long fight going on, you don't want all the bodies to be lagging the server down, and second. Because I'm guessing a good reason for this would be if you get to a town and see a bleeding dead body, it will make you aware there might be someone around, if its already decomposing, then you know it has been at least 30 min, but a full day or 2 would be to much for the servers to handle I think. All in all, good suggestion.

I agree on the idea that hunting should be improved, woods itself need a huge improvement, they are way to safe. Hunting animals is also awsome, maybe not for 2 hrs like the example, but yeah. Maybe also add more animals, like bears, wolfs, fixes, ect.. and having an infection chance on them, that would make them aggresive towards you (yay for murderous bunnies!) and killing them would make their meat automatically infected also. Ideas are endless for wildlife and hunting. There should be something implemented.

Its not like you can complain for having to many Antibiotics anyways, before there were rare and now to many? The med chopper makes sense also.

Lol that would still be cool to have a way of doing things like tying up someone and kidnapping (which people already do), although I would still make it easy to escape, say you have to stand in front of the door or they just run out or something, it would be pretty dumb to just log in all the time and still be trapped.
